I'm sorry you didn't enjoy a video game
>>
>>3654876
thank you for your comiserations anon
>>
>>3654874
Well i guess you did, zoomer scum
>>
>>3654874
I bet you watched a video about it before you started and tried to rush to lady grey's manor to farm multipliers against the ever-respawning undead instead of playing properly.

No I just never had an Xbox
>>3654930
No, I just can't "get into it." I can't explain why. Maybe because I've tried to so many times. I do wonder if there's a moment a few hours in where it clocks and it becomes the chill action RPG people love it for, but it just isn't clicking.

I think I might have missed the boat sadly. The only Fable related video I've ever really paid attention to was one saying Fable 3 sucks
>>
>>3654953
You can't force it. Even a game captures your attention, or it doesn't. I've lost count of the number of times I've tried to play Pillars. On paper I should like it, in practice I can't.
There are other games besides Fable.
>>
>>3654874
What makes Fable good isn't cozy vibes. It's a game that evolves based on your actions. It set the standard for RPGs and we saw a dozen games knock off this mechanic. If you were hoping for a game like Animal Crossing, then it makes sense why you were disappointed. Try coming at the game from a different POV.

The Lost Chapters came out on PC in 2005.
>>

I was PC until the 2010s and never bothered trying it until now

I think this game is too shallow and you can really only enjoy it at a certain age. You play Zelda as a kid then try this M rated Zelda out as a teen and its awesome.
As an adult its just too boring and the combat is irritating despite how easy it is.

Where are the games made for the normal, self-respecting autistic man?

EVE Online
Factorio

I liked it as a kid and still replay it every couple years but I can see why you wouldn't if you tried it as an adult. It is open world, but comes from a time when open world was a lot closer to rail roaded than it is now

If you scream zoomer every time someone doesn't like an old game you like, you're admitting that you only like it because of nostalgia.

Fable is like Ocarina of Time, if you haven't played it yet then don't bother.
>>
>>3657081
I played Ocarina fairly recently and totally enjoyed it, dunno what you're even on about. Fable definitely aged worse than OoT.

They'd be alright games for a 10 year old. If you're already an adult then, yeah.
>>
Fable came out 20 years ago it's like WOW Classic, a game that's fun because you have memories of playing it when you were 10-12 years old back when it was new, I'm 32 years old and I have 3,000 hours on WOW Vanilla and have beat Fable like 8 times, I go back and play it every few years. If you're a zoomer then yeah it probably won't have the same effect, especially considering how some of these games have aged. A lot of these games are carried by millennial nostalgia and there's nothing wrong with that.

Got Anniversary edition on Steam, the shit crashes all the time. Seems like a decent enough game, but it just doesn't work on newer systems?
>>
>>3657240
damn son you got the ugly anniversary edition, and not the superior Lost Chapters edition that runs perfectly on my modern Windows 11 PC.
>>

Fable 1 is not so great for exploration. Fun gimmick game, though.

Try 2, if you can somehow emulate it. It's much more open ended. I don't even remember 3.
Honestly, aside from the uggo protag, I'm still excited for the new fable. I like games that lean onto their gimmicks and do weird stuff.

>the exploration isn't fun
How far in did you get? Fable has a very slow start, and exploration is severely limited by your progress in the main quest. Even then, the game world is extremely small, far smaller than what you'd get in a Zelda.

Exploration is fun if you appreciate the quirks in this small world and just go with the vibe of the game, but it's always dictated by the story and the story is pretty lame. The game just might not be for you, and that's okay.

Fable 2 offers a bit more in terms of exploration maybe that'd be better for you
