Hey anons. I'm feeling especially cozy this Christmas, and was wanting to know what you folk do to really vibe out and immerse yourself in any given RPG. I'm currently revisiting Elden Ring, and it's perfect with the first person mod, a bit of liquor, and a "Goblin synth" playlist. It feels like I'm playing DnD if that makes sense, it's a really fun experience and bandwagon be damned, Elden Ring is a solid video game. The first person mod really makes it a new experience, and makes the perspectives in the level design shine. Sorry, didn't mean to rhyme, I'm slightly drunk.
>>3684975Gotta be a crpg for me. When I was alone for holidays last year I played WOTR on a big screen monitor all day, max comfy. ER wasn't comfy for me because of the music. With skyrim music it would probably feel more like an adventure
1st person sounds miserable for Elden Ring with all the spastic enemies. My winter cozy rpgs are the Icewind Dale games. They're flawed but nail the atmosphere. Kuldahar is such a great tundra "oasis".
>>3685247Anything with atmosphere and coziness is great. I'm also playing with a mod that basically gives me pawns from Dragon's Dogma to make it a bit more bearable, along with adding in a very minor MP and HP regen just to compensate for the inherent increase in difficulty. It's like black coffee though, once you start, you can't go back--it's insanely exhilarating.
>>3685252Interesting. Maybe Ill give it a try some time.
>>3684975>cozyJust say you want braindead slop. Why pretend you're something you aren't and change the meaning of words around
>>3684975Travel the cities in Oblivion, robbing houses and collecting books to fill up the library in my character's home.
>>3685328You're putting words in my mouth, I never mentioned braindead slop. I'm not talking about impossible to lose farming simulators where you somehow perform nonbinary animal husbandry. Cozy can mean a lot of things and that includes the campsites in Darkest Dungeon or the save rooms in Resident Evil. Just because something cozy is in the middle of a deeper or more adult-oriented game, that doesn't make the whole thing braindead slop inherently.
>>3685531>You're putting words in my mouthFirst time on /vrpg/?
>>3684975If we're talking Christmas/winter cozy specifically:Pokemon, I just kinda wish my friends still played the old ones anyway MMOs too since they often have some kind of Christmas event. This season was kinda shitty ngl so I haven't exactly been feeling festive
>>3685328Schizo moment.
