What are your top three JRPGs of all time?I'd say:1. Chrono Trigger2. Persona 22. Tales of Symphonia
>>36945061: Final Fantasy VI - the timeless classic that never really ages, and the World of Ruin hasn't been matched yet in any JRPG to date.2: Tales of the Abyss - after stumbling with Rebirth and Legendia, Namco finally proved that Symphonia wasn't just a fluke and topped it in virtually every possible way.3: Dragon Quest V (PS2) - the definitive generational epic that represents the single most complete quest in the Dragon Quest series, elevated from its SNES starting point for the mighty Playstation 2.
1. Phantasy Star IV2. Chrono Trigger3. (nothing, everything else was trash)I'm gonna keep lifting until the third spot gets filled. Any recommendations given the 2 I wrote above?
>>3694506>squareshit>persona>talesKeep your opinions to yourself, nothing good can come from sharing them.
>>3694523Post your three then.
Final Fantasy VIPhantasy Star IVChrono TriggerThere's a lot that comes close to those though, it's not like I only love 16-bit RPGs.
>>3694531>Phantasy Star IVMy n...I hope we get a remaster :(
I don't have a top 3. I've enjoyed many many jRPGs fairly equally and for a variety of reasons and as suits the mood I was in or the time period I played them.
>>3694532Me too, that would be sweet.
>>3694532>>3694536>remaster cuckskys
>>3694543Most remasters suck, but maybe it would get the rare good remaster that's mostly the same but adds some extra challenges and content. Like SaGa Frontier's remaster. Obviously the original doesn't need one, but it could be fun if done right. Worst case is you get an inferior remaster that ends up being the one people are recommended by cultureless swine. And then all the wiki pages are replaced with screenshots from the remaster.
>>3694550>And then all the wiki pages are replaced with screenshots from the remaster.Seriously, I hate how the ffwiki does that. Was even worse when they used images from the shitty iphone/steam version of 6
>>3694550no.
This is not a Phantasy Star 4 thread.picrel filtered me hard
>>3694555ok.>>3694556Of course it isn't. I got stuck on Zio for a while on my first playthrough as a kid. Was satisfying as hell when I finally won. Replaying the game I realize he's easy when you actually use buffs.
>>3694557I want to beat her bush if you catch my drift
>>3694558Sorry, I don't catch your drift.
Do we like the Japanese box art or the Boris Vallejo box art better?
>>3694561I had no box, I pirated the ROM

>>3694565You wouldn’t download a box, would you?
Wild ARMS 2Valkyrie ProfileXenogears
>>3694561>>3694566Both are awesome in different ways, but the Japanese art sells the 80s sci-fantasy better.

Hard to say. I think for me it might be...SaGa - Scarlet Grace: AmbitionsShin Megami Tensei: NocturneMetal Max ReturnsI want to throw Last Remnant in there somewhere...I love mechanics and exploration-focused games, and I love the non-linearity of the SaGa games. I also like a lot of more traditional JRPG series too, like Suikoden, but the above games really hit the sweet spot for me.Ugh, I also love Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land too. This list is turning too huge.

Honestly this game made me quit Pokémon altogether.>Phantom Brave?/Makai Kingdom? The general mood of the game, the tactical nature and strange genre challenging gamplay.>Legend of ManaYou need a guide for sure, but the art, atomosphere and plots within the game were as creative as it gets.
>>3695291>Arc the Lad 2It had EVERYTHING!Except a good plot. Just reading through the wiki makes my stomach turn. It's as if the plot was randomly generated by ChatGPT:>Waking up from a nightmare, memories of his abduction by the Romalian Army after the destruction of his home of Pyrenia still stinging, Elc'kowala'pule, Elc for short, decides to take a job at the Prodias Hunter Guild as obtained by his friend Lynx (ビビガ, Bibiga). Taking the job of stopping the terrorist Alfred at the Aldia Skyport, he meets a young Monster Tamer named Lieza and ends up escaping from Gallarno's cabal with her, after taking Alfred to justice goes wrong and he ends up getting killed by the mafiosos. Confiding in his best friend and guardian Shu to take care of her as he searches for Dr. Lado while avoiding the police who assume he has kidnapped the girl. What the fuck did I just read?
