I'm making a dungeon crawler with randomized floors. so far 13 starting classes to pick and form a party of 3.
So far I have 33 floors and 42 enemies spread acorss over 200 encounters. Hundreds of items using some Yanfly plugins to attach things to them to grant stats and skills.
One town with a few evolving npc interactions based on how deep you went into the dungeon. Some shortcuts to bring you back to town every now and then.
I plan to add one story quest per character that you need to get on different floors at different points of progression to complete.

The way I see it, False Awakening is incomplete. Not just because we never got part 3. But there's kind of a plot hole in part 1 that he must have considered but left out of the game.

In part 1, Salik is just "cool. I'm lucid dreaming. I'm going to do all kinds of things." He makes jokes about wet dreams. But he keeps it PG because he thinks he'll wake up if he gets too excited.
But in part 2, when he wants to wake up, the only solution he can think of is killing himself.

I've said this before, but I think his Sigma character is the weakest link. Based on the episode title card colors, I think part 2 was meant to develop Succour, and part 3 was going to focus on Sigma; but that didn't happen.
He's done a lot with Succour in False Heart (False Spaces) but Sigma is still this background character. That game was also left to be continued in "False...something"

Just workin' my way through stuff. Finished the second continent and am now moving on to the third and final one.
I also started redrawing the Party Chat/Skit Portraits. This time, I’m preparing them like I would Live2D models, so I’ll have better control over all the individual parts. It’s a lot of extra work, but it’ll make things easier for me in the long run, so I’m sticking with this approach.

I remember reading a study that showed that people report dreaming a higher encounter rate with the opposite sex. Regardless of their orientation. Don't ask me how that works with trans people. Like, if you're a guy, you'll be dreaming about going to grandma's house, on a bus, with a female driver, sitting next to female passengers, probably.

Personally, I think I see this in people's games too. Where there'll be a lack of male characters, or male characters with any personality.

It's worth noting that content curation / coding / tagging systems produce their own biases. So identifying differences between the sexes in dream journals isn't anymore effective at identifying shifts in dreams from the same individual as they age.

It's like booru boards don't have tags for everything. Or how Steam tags makes games look more homogenous.

They try to do this kind of analysis with authors too. Saying men write towards admiration, while women write towards vulnerability and sympathy.

Well just to be clear, if you're using the normal character walking graphics and whatnot, those are hard limited to the usual 24x32 dimensions. The color limitation doesn't apply, but some parts of the editor have trouble displaying certain types of graphics that aren't indexed 256 anyway (they'll still work in-game).
And even with larger walking sprites, you're still locked to the usual 16x16 grid, so that's something worth considering.

Correct. Unfortunately, at least to my knowledge (read: I've never tried it because this isn't something I've ever wanted to do), it would take quite a bit of work and show picture+spritesheeting sorcery to effectively replace the stock character graphics across the board with pic spritesheets. Several reasons come to mind, but the biggest/worst one is
>No way to display a picture on the same layers where events are drawn - forcing you to deal with writing a sorting algo for them (not a pain in and of itself, but I'm assuming a bit above your pay grade if you're asking this at all)
Basically you'd be stuck dealing with some really crappy parts of eventing in a non-standard movement system without actually doing a non-standard movement system, which is already pretty high up on the list of things out of reach for many devs.

The Death Note, for example, can control people. But it requires a setup. In a story like False Awakening, A geass that controls people would effectively be like lucid dreaming.
