Is this RPG any good? its cheap on steam atm and honestly as much i like Mass Effect series i need to have my run with classic RPG from time to time
it's kinda short and unfinished in typical Obsidian fashion but has better characters and setting than PoE or Pathfinder gamescombat is "fine" for a RTWP gamemagic system is fun
>>3696822well i liked first PoE with DLCs, second one was wack. Ive seen people complain about bugs tho, how much unfinished it is then?
>>3696816Its alright. The main complaint is that it feels way too short and has all these systems you barely even get to interact with before its over
>>3696822>better charactersRight
>>3696816A game that will make you go"How come the gremlins that shit out garbage like PoE can make something that isn't pure feces."
>>3696816It's what Pillars of Eternity should have been. The only really made Tyranny to fund PoE. Obsidian are a strange company. The less they're into it, the better the games they make.
>>3696816it's alright but don't expect anything fantastichas a build-your-own-spell system, but it's mostly uninspired "do you want a red fireball or a blue fireball" thinginterestingly enough that is even the premise of the story choicesdo you want to play for the red team or the blue team?also I find it very ironic that you can't be truly evil in a game about being evil also disregard >>3696822>>3696833>>3696860those are cuckdex adjacent niggers salty at Avelon being let go from obsidianhe had directed Tyrannyboth PoE games are miles better in every regard
>>3696869>those are cuckdex adjacent niggers salty at Avelon being let go from obsidianHe was just one of the narrative designers, not the lead.He was probably more involved in PoE 1
>>3696877I checked this and yeah, I was wrong on the director partbut he wasn't just one of the narrative designers, he was the creative leadthe game released with him gone already though
>>3696869>Starts talking about Avelon unprompted >Says PoE is better than something Shouldn't you be spending your time shilling Avowed?
>>3696882>avellone still rent free in obsidiot heartslmao
>>3696886>>3696887thanks for confirming my guess
>>3696889now it's a guess? you seemed pretty confident in your delusions before.
>>3696882No, he wasn't,Brian Heins was the game director.Matt MacLean was the lead narrative designer. Chris Avellone, Paul Kirsch, Robert Land, Matt Perez, Megan Starks were narrative designers
>>3696869>both PoE games are miles better in every regardif this is true you should be praising Avellone since Durance and Grieving Mother are 100% his creations which is more than can be said for any aspect of Tyranny
>>3696828I don't think Tyranny is that buggy in its current state, it just has an abrupt and somewhat unsatisfying ending. Like playing the first 2-3 acts of an Owlcat game and then right when the stakes are are getting really high, bam ending slides.
>>3696816This game also solved the "we can't make RPGs fully voice-acted; that would be too expensive due to too much information" via hyperlinking lore bits. Thus also removing the need for artificial info dumps in conversations.
>>3697044*laughs in Morrowind*
>>3696816I couldn't get far into it because I didn't like any of the two sides you have to pick. Cooldowns also felt weird for combat.
>>3696816I played it through twice. It's pretty good, but feels short. The magic system was really fun. By end game you pretty much barrel through everything and you no-lube rawdog the final boss. Interesting enough, the final boss is chosen by you as a consequence of your actions.
>>3697049You can pick from three sides.
>>3697054>no-lube rawdogEnjoying the furfag companion a bit too much there bro?
>>3696816>Is this RPG any good?Yes. However it ends halfway leaving you frustrated that they were close to making good game but fumbled on their way to end line.
>>3697063>furfag companionMagic is most fun part of game so A-squad if PC mage with milf water mage, old grandpa wizard and your barely legal qt teen admirer.
>>3697164that was also my party but I had my PC as a melee tank to hold the line while everyone else blastedI called us the sedition squad because my fatebinder's interpretation of kyros's will was flexible, to put it mildly
>>3696957>better in every regard>praised be Avellone for his writing on Durance and Grieving Mother!dude
>>3696869codex called this game Tranny and talked shit about it. they even disliked how you couldn't really be evil, exactly like yourself. chris avellone left obsidian a year and a half before this game released. i don't think your post makes any sense.
>you can't really be evil because by the end of the game you are so powerful that kyros sees you as a threat brainlet takejust because you don't serve kyros doesn't make you a goody two shoes freedom fighter, it just makes you the candidate to be the next evil overlord
>>3697230>my fatebinder's interpretation of kyros's will was flexible, to put it mildlyI'm sure Kyros law is open to interpretation precisely so that clever fatebinder can do whatever the fuck he wants, as long as he can pull out some good old bullshit reasoning to support it.
Doesn't let me be Vult from Kuroinu 0/10
>>3696816No, not even a little.
>>3697396I mean hes right Durance and Mom are really the only two characters I can remember from that game not being duller than a grey post
