What do you use to play old games without issues? GoG sometimes bundles a dx wrapper with their releases, but it doesn't always work. I prefer to use dgvoodoo or dxwnd to play shit in windowed mode.
>>1743049Also post old RTS I guess.
Thy don't make games like this anymore.
>>1743271What do you mean? Eurojank is still made to this day, and subsequently shilled on 4chan and by 4chan-pandering ecelebs
Here's your protagonist, brohonestly though outside of many of these character portraits the game looks pretty nice, soundtrack is good with a SC-55 soundtrack as well, is that appropriate for the game?
>>1743049tried to install AoE:RoR trial today but didn't manage to get it working, Somehow AoE:RoR works fine. I think it still worked in Win7 so a VM would be last resort.Dgvoodoo didn't work, My guess is the demo installer makes an unecessary check whether Dx5 is installed even if it might work without it.
>>1743296Just tried it, it worked fine for me on Windows 10. I had to set the installer file to Windows 95 compatibility mode to get it to install, but after that it ran fine.
>>1743293The MIDI versions are ass, there's a thread on the gog forums on how to get CD music
dgVoodoo2 works fine with this, just gave it a try with forced windowed mode. Seems to perform alright.
On the host if it runs, DOSBox if nothing else helps. I didn't downgrade from 7 for my gayms, however.
I used to be on Linux for a few years, and Wine would often have better compatibility than Win7. Some games would work as is, some would require tweaking some settings, some wouldn't work ever - it was pretty random.
>>1743049>What do you use to play old games without issues?Linux.
>>1743049In addition to what you mentioned, WINE, cnc-ddraw
>>1743800>M.S.A. is available in all non-Nod vs. Nod scenarios IDGI
This works surprisingly well.
>>1746016I had Firestorm installed so it might have been the cause. Otherwise it is exactly that, a primitive condition enabling it.
