I want to like Xenonauts but the game refuses to let me like it. How come that even though it is a carbon copy of XCOM94, XCOM94 remains the better game, so many years after it's release?

Because it removed things from oldcom, had a worse art direction than oldcom, it more repetitive than oldcom and didn't add enough new things to make up for it.
Also, air combat is almost as shallow as in oldcom, is it's not a significant improvement desu
