Has anyone here played Ostranauts? Is it good already, or does it still need more time in the oven?
>>1788394It’s too jank in an obtuse and frustrating way not a fun and quirky way. It would be much better if Daniel decided it’s a space ship game or a spessman on a space station game.
Incredibly jank and unfunParking your ship is like operating a fucking forklift and it's not uncommon for your entire ship to randomly deconstruct/get arrested while traveling
>>1788696How could you make a station only game fun though?
>>1788394It's autistic in a sense that you need to pre-calculate your moves and fucking up means total loss of your run. It can be fun in certain moments, but some game designs like giving your pilot RPG character traits when 90% of the game is you piloting the ship is questionable (other 10% being scavenging inside wrecks/stations). Honestly, the cheaper & older Neo-Scavenger from the same studio is waay better in gameplay.
>>1788934Polishing the inventory and combat systems and reducing the effort it takes to actually get to derelicts and stations. I don't want complete reduction like Quasimorph where the game's focus is barely on your ship but I think the game would be much better off if it focused on the piloting or the spaceman aspects while simplifying the other.
