So, we're all in agreement?
>>1864245I was always partial to the rampart. It felt very comfy.
>>1864245Could you make the towns anymore fucking low-res?
By eyes hurt, thanks OP.
>So, we're all in agreement?Yep, list is bullshit.
>>1864245
>>1864245>So, we're all in agreement?about what you also need to say what the list is about
>>1864245Castle should be S tier because its units have the highest stats.
>>1866002How can you not use context clues to figure out the purpose of the list? What's wrong with you?
>>1866313>context cluesI have no idea what you meanhttp://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=45490I don't like Conflux since it's just HoMM 2 neutral elementshttp://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes2/neutralcreatures.shtml
>>1864245>"HoMM3" thread>HotA shitdropped
I decided to do a full Might and Magic and HoMM playthrough over the next few months because I want to finally understand the lore of the series. While gathering info about which order to do so, I stumbled into a game that I never even heard until now: Heroes ChroniclesApparently it's a bunch of story campaigns in HoMM3 engine? How is it? Never seen people talk about it.
>>1868093It's basically a series of short campaigns that were meant to introduce new players to the settings of HoMM3 and 4. They're pretty skippable, but worth playing if you're a completionist. People don't talk about them much because they're basically just extremely limited versions of HoMM3 where you can only play the story maps without any skirmish mode or multiplayer, and most people don't really care about the story of these games anyway.
>>1866457how retarded do you have to be to put conflux in the lowest tier?S ConfluxA Necropolis, CastleB Dungeon, StrongholdC RampartD Fortress, InfernoE Tower
wtf is cove?
>>1871058Forever noob here. Are these PvP rankings?I found Tower easy to play with against the AI.
>>1871073not a HoMM3 town so don't worry about it>>1871251Tower is expensive with bad heroes while Necromancer gives you free units and almost guaranteed Earth Magic for Town Portal, aka the only spell that matters. Conflux is rated higher on things like L1 no retalation, self resurrecting L7s, and better heroes/skill availablity.Tower has really powerful units but theyre more expensive, plus go and look at how many scholars are in their hero line up.
>>1866711>Knight in A tierYou're alright. Paladins bless your army
Dungeon is the most aesthetic, both visually and gameplay-wise.>SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED>beholders and troglodytes are cute>medusas and minotaurs are cool>nigger draggon>SPEEEED again
How do I deal with AI always going for base trades? It's annoying as fuck.If there are two entrances and I start going, say, north and start capturing AI towns, he will almost always appear to the south and starts taking my towns instead of trying to defend his stuff. Assume I wasn't lucky enough to have advanced town portal. If I leave half of my forces behind, usually a lower level hero without artifacts will just waste those units and they die to the AI's main army.
>>1871401You can't. It's a casino. Strategy is over.
>>1871266>the only spell that mattersdimension door just called from inside your house to say hello
>>1866711lol, at least you had the better homm. But the game as good as it was, was very very imba. Warlock and barely wizard were the bes in the game, with sorceress a distant 3rd, everyone after that blew dick.homm3 always felt like the redheaded step child where you had a bunch of random shit units thrown together, it made no contextual sense some of the unit pairing.
>>1864245Holy shit. You have possibly found the lowest res pictures in existence.
>>1871401If you have multiple castles then invest in a second army
>>1871689Warlock and Wizard take too long to get online. They are only good against the AI. Human Barb/Knight players would be at your gate with a way strong army in week 1 or 2 and just take you. Then they are the ones with the big eco and access to dragons/Titans.
I love magic heroes. I love campaigns.I love carrying over my 20 caster hero to the next mission with most of the spells in the game, and just blowing up 20 dragons on first week with 10 pikemen.hate pvp
>>1871401just don't leave an opening to your areaif there are two ways in you gotta fight on two frontlines
>>1872216thats the counter argument, but what does that happen beyond a tiny map? Anything med or bigger you arent seeing each other for a month plus. Also, for this reason the sorc is better, she can grind through hordes without losses, knights are ok but they get grinded down by neutrals due to not that good of range (like the nerc and barb)
Noob here again, I think I'm starting to get the hang of it. This is like the fourth time I'm trying to get into HoMM3, I gave it a shot like every 3 years for the last 10+ years and just got frustrated when the AI started running laps around me and usually I quit a few maps in. But I kept going this time and I'm starting to understand how to deal with the AI's shitty raids. I just finished the 6th map in the second campaign in Heroes Chronicles, which I know is considered to be an easy campaign, but this map was a bitch and took me a whole day. I'm playing on Hard btw. This map taught me how to build up every town I capture and buy some defenders and use many armies. The 8 heroes limit was NOT ENOUGH. You start at the castle town in the middle left. The map has 16 towns and you're playing against 3 AIs, and one of them has one-way portals into the middle of the map placed conveniently between 3 towns. He likes to send 3+ armies through them at the same time and spread out into multiple directions. Oh and there's a lake in the middle and one of the other AIs can just go to 4 different towns with boat. The map is almost flat for the most part and there are very few choke points, so I was forced to just fortify almost every town and abuse the hell out of Inferno's Castle Gate (as Town Portal is ofc disabled in campaign maps) and fast armies with only Archangels in it to catch them all.
>>1872237cursed ground that only allows level 1 spells is the gayest fucking mechanic ever invented in a video game that's spammed on every campaign map to prevent carryover casters from dominating
>>1873301Before the Shadow of Death change, Cursed Ground didnt allow ANY spellcasting whatsoever.
I really don't understand why Tower never S or A in these lists.
>>1874563expensivebad heroesbad skill chanceI think there's too many tiers and Dungeon/Tower are about interchangable and Rampart should be below them, almost entirely due to Gold Dragons
Tower was best because of easy cheesing of mobs with shooters and magic. Never played multiplayer. Master gremlin maxing turn 1 and steamroll from there.
>>1874692And yes, Dungeon shared first place for basically the same reason.
Castle should outrank Necropolis on consistency, Necropolis is too dependent on artifacts. Conflux is S because it's broken.
>>1864245What am I supposed to be getting from this besides some crunchy images?
>>1864245>So, we're all in agreement?No, definitely disagree.
>>1864245In my casual opinion:Necropolis and Castle are easy mode and can win with one unitFortress, Stronghold and Conflux also have strong units early that can easily start clearing the mapInferno is bottom tier for being expensive and having boring units also demon farming is tediousThe rest are somewhere in the middle
