Old Total War games are ridiculous sometimes. My capital was under threat by an enemy full stack and a 5-star-general. But the moment he laid siege to it, half of his entire army including his general, which had the same level as my Daimyo, switched sides. I have NEVER seen something like this before in ANY Total War game. This was on Legendary difficulty. After this I gave him a commission, which reduces upkeep of all units nationwide by 9%. This was after constantly getting pounded from all sides and only having a single full-stack to make attacks and reconquer lost territory. Also a few turns after this I got a mission. Now usually missions are something you just ignore, because their boni are too irrelevant and the developers also were retarded about time limits. But the simple assassination of an enemy agent, increased the wealth of all of my buildings by 50% for 12 turns. This was the secret ingredient to turn the game from a slog to a complete domination of my enemies. It's insanely OP. It's like all my taxes are permanently on very high.
>>1869571I love those mini stories in TW games. Recently I was playing M2 and by some chance a good but disloyal Sicilian general was wandering around my lands in Bulgaria. I sent one of my princesses to marry him, it worked, and he became one of my best generals, serving the Byzantine empire in the Holy Lands with great distinction.
I really enjoy head~to~head campaigns.Should be over 100 player head~to~head campaigns.I’d be patient enough for it.Though real time would be possible with slowing things down and maybe having split~screens for battles and campaign map simultaneously.Imagine just being able to zoom in and for the battle level to be on the map. Also reminder that Nippon aren’t Christians and never were. The inclusion of Christianity is unacceptable ignorance that I’m sure caused many to stop playing the game. An offensiveness. So many verities of Shinto are that could’ve been in the game. Sickening.
>>1870057What are you talking about, there's plenty of well documented Japanese Christians. Hell, Date Masamune converted to Christianity before it was outlawed and even sent a diplomatic mission across the world to speak with the pope, should he not have been in the game either?
>>1870057Butthurt atheist. If anything, religion should have been an even bigger deal.
>>1870057>mfw this weeb faggot doesn't know about the Otomo clan's christfaggotry that almost fucked up the rest of Kyushuno level of historical revisionism can erase that part of japan that era. next you'll be telling everybody the japanese have never been Buddhist
>>1869571>their boniI kneel
>the typical jewFaggot Golem Cancer here to suppress 4chan>>1870080>jewipedia >converted to faggotry and mistakenly even associated with a someone who merely SPOKE to you scum sucking parasites. >you accidentally were nice to us? Now you’re our Golemslave.Cheers to the Dutch/the-true-traders.Taught us how to make what we wanted ourselves from the beginning.>Dutch people? But that’s a HOLOCAUST!!We fucked on Nippon shrooms in Amsterdam.>>1870133There should’ve been so many versions of Shinto. As truly is. >>1870197The Nippon never were Buddhist and you know it. >oy vey they’re not worshiping a foreign ego, THATS A HOLOCAUST.All these religions y’all pests called Buddhism are merely what y’all chose to be ignorant of. Many of our religions are Nippon worshiping eachother and Nippon spirits and vast collections of anonymous Nippon wisdom. Ikko Ikki even basically worshiped primeval anime girls.Yeah you wanna fuck us up?You wanna fuck us up?The Otomo crucified y’all. We instantly figured out what y’all parasites are and closed off.None of us were ever Christians/golemFags and y’all pests hate that. All our contact with Europeans was with true Europeans, the pagans. The Dutch and such. Who tf lets y’all on my internet?
>>1872064>LARPing as JapaneseNot the saddest thing I've seen on this board, but pretty close. You do know that Shinto almost died before the Kamikaze typhoons rekindled faith in the native gods, right?
>>1870057>Also reminder that Nippon aren’t Christians and never were. Why the hell do you think foreigners were banned from trading except for the Dutch? They literally have an entire term for it called Rangaku , "Dutch Learning", because the Dutch were the only ones who didn't try to convert the Japanese, thus weren't a threat to the Shogun's power. There was never a significant christian presence in Japan but it was an important part of the warring states period because the western powers gave better deals to those that did convert. If you as a player want the good western shit for your conquests you have to convert.
>>1872102Christianity was just a pretense. The tokugawa rode into power on the backs of foreign technology and trade, and then turned around and closed the country so that no coastal daimyo could follow the same path to power. The closure essentially eliminating access to foreign arms and materials is part of what kept the Tokugawa in power for 200 years. The persecution of Christianity was instigated from the top down in order to help suppress the potentially destabilizing influence of foreign technology. Rangaku was unique to the bakumatsu period and had nothing to do with christianity or missionaries.
>>1872064>continuing to be this butthurt
>>1872064>Dutch>pagans
>>1872064Cringe. And kys.
I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY I HATE AI NAVY
>>1873002Sorry, I can't hear you over the sound of your port being bombarded by one gunboat.
>>1873006STOOOOP IM GOING BANKRUPT
>>1873010WHAT'S THAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU. DID YOU WANT THE AI TO BUILD A FOREIGN TRADING PORT IN AN UNDEFENSIBLE LOCATION BEFORE YOU AND THUS ALL YOUR TRADE ROUTES GO THROUGH THAT ONE AND NOT YOUR REAL MAIN PORT?
>>1873002>destroys half your navy and warrior class in auto resolve
Shogun 2, even Rise of the Samurai, is one of my favorite games of all time. I just wish we could turn off the AI building navies.
>>1876994One of the mods I played, can't remember which one, MOSS, Trom, or Morning sun, removed minor clans ability to build a navy, so it's possible. Thinking of it since I've started making my own personal submods for mods I should really figure out how they did that because the navy spam seriously ruins a lot of games. It's annoying as shit being forced to create a zoc chain from land to the edge of the map just to prevent a random cunt blockading your port with a single ship.
>>1870057>Imagine just being able to zoom in and out for the battle level to be on the map.Nobunaga sends his ambitions
>>1877126>Moss, trom, morning sonI've heard nothing about any of these.
When Shogun 2 gives you +1 command in (x situation) what does that actually mean in terms of game mechanics?
>>1879014How much morale boost does your general aura give.Absolutely useless. Go for more useful skills / retainers
>>1877871That's surprising since they were some of the biggest overhauls. For just a quick summary, master of strategy sengoku is what I'd consider to be the stainless steel of shogun 2, the rights of man 3 is a more historical focused mod, and morning sun is an overly ambitious mod that expands the map to include Korea and China.MOSS is great, trom is outdated(pre Otomo dlc) but still playable and probably my favorite when it comes to battles, and morning sun is very interesting and unique but extremely unpolished and primarily focused on Hideyoshi's Imjin war.
>>1872064>pagans >dutchyour bait was believable up until this point
>>1869571>"old total war games">Talking about a newer total war game in the warscape engine (what all the new games are designed around) with the same AI (if not worse) in newer games
>>1879213I played MOSS. I feel like Shogun 2 needs a huge overhaul less than Medieval 2 does.Sadly I just don't have the time to learn an overhaul any more.>>1879211Unless the other thing is a worse +command bonus.
>>1879702Sir, a game that is more than ten years old is old.
>>1880168>Unless the other thing is a worse +command bonusThen just save the skillpoints for the next levelup The best option so far seems to be:>Lvl2 - both points into movement range>Lvl3 - one point into movement, save the other one>Lvl4 - three points into "stand and fight" + attack bonus
>>1880285No. I'm talking about the...what are they? Vassals? Auxilliaries? You knowLike Kyudo Master, Childhood Best Friend, Soldier's Mistress, etc.
>>1880434Ancillaries that you have to choose at Lv2, 4 & 6.
>>1880665yeah that. Some of them give say+1 when defending on landOr +1 when defending while sucking dickor +1 while defending within sight of a gangaru.
