I have already played all of the Kremlingames studio games and generally liked them (even though their mechanics are often obtuse and with weird translations because they are made by russians), I also tried ''Suzerain'' but I didn't really like it, felt too stripped down where the economic layer was pretty much non-existent

I wish

I guess it depends on what you want? There is the Democracy series if you like balancing spreadsheets and I'd personally recommend the Suzerain DLC if you want more economical stuff, there is actual budget balancing there.

There is an old strategy game called Republic: The Revolution. Political sim, a little bit like The Guild.

The fact that every leftist thinks he's some kind of genious still baffles me.

Lawgivers is parliament simulator, I don't remember much but I do remember I didn't like it.
City State is more of a city builder with options to choose what politics your city state (tm) has, but it's mostly flavor and costs to your budget. Didn't play the second one.
The Political Process is quite deep and runs from the smaller elected positions (school board IIRC) to the president, you get to run for elections, get npc protegeés, push and vote for bills. I didn't find the country management very deep years ago when I played, and it's very easy to get elected if you run a neocon/neolib plataform in the respective red/blue state.

And briefly minister of finance of Greece. Hardcore socialist that got booted out of EU council meetings because of his extreme ideas

>his extreme ideas
like what?
Not imposing austerity while your country and union is in a fucking banking crisis?
Years later and you can watch how key infrastructure gets cannibalised.

There used to be a multiplayer game on kongregate where you were a MP or something and the player base voted laws and stuff

What's the "gameplay" in that thing? You just create your nation and then what? There seems to be nothing to do
