It's out of early accesswhat's the verdict?
it's a base defense game: build structures, send waves, rinse repeat. there's a hero unit which adds an action component to the defense waves. i played it during early access and enjoyed it for what it was, looking forward to returning to it now it's complete. good little game.
What are the best TD games?
i played some early beta and thought it was pretty dullugly as sin too. your lead artist can skimp on production values but he can't skip out on having good taste.
>>1878573SAS Zombie Assault TD.
>>1878573bloons, kingdom rush, defenders quest are still really good casual tdsthe upcoming td nordhold looks very impressive from the demo for something with more complex mechanics
>>1878573mindustry
>>1878467This looks almost exactly like Kingdom series, especially the horse-riding monarch spending coins on stuff. I played the crap out of Two Crowns not too long ago and I'm spent.
>>1878467That color scheme makes my eyes bleed.
Fallpunk
>>1878721>BloonsAbsolutely not>Have absolutely 0 challenge for 99% of the waves, effortlessly murdering everything>Last wave always wipes my base
>>1878948skill issue
>>1878978>you're playing too good, and also you're playing too bad
>>1878931radical position: the color blind should not be in charge of choosing color schemes
>>1878948Bloon is build around the assumption that you know the wave pattern (since they are always the same), and that you are using the "easy" waves to prepare for the "shit will hit the fan" ones.
>>1878467>what's the verdict? This art style hurt my eyes so much I don't even want to try it.
>>1878467pretty fun
>>1878573Orcs Must Die, though not a "pure" TD game, is pretty underrated. The first one has the best overall level design IMO, but the sequels are fun too and have more content. I don't like the third one simply because they replaced the turbochad protagonist with zoomer characters.
>>1879005
>>1879022Yeah 1 and 2 were great. I tried the OMD online game which is now defunct and it was okay too. It is too bad they added the DEI-slop to 3, but it's probably a good game beyond that.
>>1879030don't kid yourself
>>1878573I liked X-Morph Defense. Not terribly deep in gameplay, but rather entertaining and pretty. Somewhat unique, too.
>>1878573Arknights
>>1879022agree 1 and 2 was quite kino and nice to play, didn't played 3 so can't say anything about it>>1878573komgdom rush, at last the first 3
>>1878573I liked Bad North even if its not tower defense game as you don't have towers
>>1879852The random generation is nice, but the soulful-looking islands rarely translate to interesting engagements, especially since the grid restricts movement and ability use which themselves are already very situational, and enemies are super fast and aggressive. Also, the best tactic, if you really want to save all the houses scattered all over, is to upgrade your archers asap, park them on the beaches, and try to spawncamp most attackers into the water.
>>1878754Not after he added the quadruped bots that "walk" over any tiles like they're just not there. A flying unit that is only targeted by ground turrets is AIDS. There were other bad decisions before, like making the core auto-incinerate overflow and having a limited number of waves after which you've permanently conquered the sector, but this is the final nail.
>>1878573Deep Among the Swarm by a landslide.
