What are the best strategy games set in medieval Japan?
>>1883625TW Shogun II.
>>1883625Nobunaga's Ambition: Spheres of Influence
Genghis Khan, you can play as the Kamakura Shogunate
Utawarerumono.
Sengoku Rance
>>1883864When will people bring back this comfy style
>>1883625soon EU5
>>1883907>soon2 years if not more
>>1883637
>>1883907Dude, you can't play a Sinitic civilisation in EU.>But I can click on a "Japan" flag on the world map.Yes, and you're playing as Anglo-France on an island further east in a fictional world where European climate and conditions exist worldwide (or at least everywhere you can play).
>>1883928I haven't played it is that ship really that dangerous you needed 19?
>>1883961It was very heavily nerfed. That screenshot was actually just showcasing that you can autoresolve the black ship when it shows up and capture it with nothing but trade ships (which actually would have lost if I manually did the battle)
>>1884014Ah to btfo anon, got it. Interesting nonetheless. I liked Rome and Medieval even if the AI is braindead and most of the matches play the same
>>1883961The ship is extremely dangerous yeah. in a manual battle under player control it can take out entire top of the line fleets with minimal issues. It's still pretty strong under the ai too. but in auto resolve anything strong in limited numbers completely shits the bed.
>>1884058That wasn't my intent. I've just got a handful of old S2 screenshots that show something moderately interesting. This one is from 15 years ago, I turtled and destroyed 2/3rds of Japan with Christian rebellions and then bribed them to join my faction with Metsukes.
>>1883625Since nobody mentioned it I'll go with Nova Monumenta Iaponiae Historica for CKII.
>>1884397I do enjoy Shimazu and Date because you get to start from an end. Then again AI loves to bypass the frontline with boats.
