How do I learn to play empire of the fading suns? The game looks cool but all the menus are a little overwhelming.

You can use my tech tree visualizer. It's a single html file that you open in a browser and it runs entirely locally. It can show dependencies and what a tech will lead to, costs of the techs, and buildings or units unlocked by them, and church opinion. The code is dogshit, and there's some stupid stuff in it to make it able to run entirely without other files or being hosted on a server, but at least it achieves that goal.
You need only download the raw html file on this page.

Most of the game can be figured out by exploring it yourself, or reading the manual.
