is the sultan's ascend dlc worth buying? 2 new civs and 4 variants of existing ones. looks like there's some new map types as well.
>>1909145no
>>1909147no because of poor value or because the additions suck?
>>1909145If you like the game, yes.I think the additional factions are fun. There's no new map types, unless you are referring to singleplayer campaigns.
>>1909182you sure? doesnt sound like these are campaign exclusive maps. i only ever play custom comp-stomp matches with my brother, so campaign stuff wouldn't be interesting to me.
>>1909185They just mean they added that to the map pool. You don't need to buy it, unless you want to play the campaign or the new civs. I bought it much later, despite itbeing my main game.
>guys tell me if I should buy this thinggrow up and make up your mind, if you aren't sure about buying something then you probably shouldn't be spending your money on it
>>1909542why are you even on a videogame board if people talking about videogames triggers you?
>>1909546I enjoy talking about video games but the constant>is X worth buyingquestions are lowering the quality of the site. It's subjective.
>>1909145is it value? not reallyare the new civs good? yesthey are pretty distinct toolike byz and japan really don't play like the othersjd isn't that distinct, ayyubid is, ootd is but they are cringe, and zhu xi is just better than china nglif you're "into" aoe4 then you have to buy it
>>1909542its just a conversation starter anon
>>1909145No is not, but considering you are for the actual generation how will buy anything, you donĀ“t gonna give a fuck about my hint...
>>1909145>Crusade themed expansion>Badass Templar on the cover>You play as Muslims in the campaign>not even Crusaders as playable civ or civ's variantLame'n'gay.
>>1909771its called sultans ascend not templars triumphant anon
>>1909145AOE4? Why play it when AOE2 exists.
>>1909828AOE2? Why play it when AOE4 exists.
>>1909828can't do the right click hold to orient troops in aoe2, thus aoe4 > aoe2
>>1909185i'd say that the campaigns are the best selling point, or if you're a weeb/byzanbozothe campaign missions are quite fun, with more gimmicks/uniqueness than all of the original campaigns; there's a mission that's a Spawn-based battle over control points, a defensive mission where you're also moving stealthy assassins around, and a naval mission where you have to face 100 or so carracks spawning in, so it can be pretty chaoticthe variant civs are fine, but, as described, they're variants that play with different ideas, but are still mostly the same as the original civ, just with a twist that allows them to build off of the foundations and then follow their own path
>>1910120well shoot, im neither a weeb/bozo nor a campaign type of guy. i do appreciate your opinion though.
>>1909145Anyone even plays this game still?
>>1911527there are dozens of us
>>1909151No because AoE4 as a whole sucks.
>>1909817Yea and introducing Crusaders without also introducing Muslims would be equally fucking stupid.
it depends on why youre buying it i guess. if you are grinding ranked then obviously because you need to be playing the same version as everyone else. for the campaign alone? def not. the campaign is really short and doesnt even accurately reflect the games civs because they are all custom hybrid civs to reflect the story. anyways japanese and byz (my main on ranked, solid plat 1 here) feel very unique. i havent even tried the other variants. oh and theres another dlc coming out in the spring so since youre a poorfag that cant just spend $15 or whatever a whim for something over a year old maybe just skip it entirely.
