How is the Space Age expansion treating you?Have you started to explore rarity yet? What's the most spaghetti part of your base?
Gleba is the only new planet that feels finished.
>>1915476It is weird that Fulgora doesn't have any sort of enemy beyond the weather
>>1915474>Space Age expansionFinished. Did almost everything. Only missing "Finish the game within 40 hours." achievement. Frankly, a bit disappointed, but since they got my money already - who cares.
>>1915474>people hyped for Space>turns out it is just a bunch of shitty rocksMonkey's Paw
Garbage. It's filler for filler's sake. I refunded. The base game is fine and worth the $14 I paid for it, the expansion was not worth more than 2x that.
>>1915474I got to a point where all that's left is slap some railguns on my Aquilo platform and travel to the edge, but I just can't be botheredQuality somehow manages to be both bloated and shallow at the same time and I likewise have zero drive to grind and build a proper base with itThe expansion mainly left me wondering what was Wube even doing all these years and how good it could've been if they didn't half-ass almost all of it
>>1915898>The expansion mainly left me wondering what was Wube even doing all these yearsCounting money by hand. It takes a lot of time, please understand.
Ok /vts/, Gleba is conqueredFulgora or Vulcanus next?
>>1915474I like it. The new planets are different but still very factorio. My biggest gripe is quality is kind of garbage and annoying as well as simply not worth it.>>1916272Vulcanus before gleba but after gleba just use space for resources. At some point you have to do this anyway.
>>1915898quality seems to be keeping the autists busy, mods will improve everything as usual
using biochambers off-gleba wasn't as annoying as i expected
>>1916429although i will say that having to ship spoilage to vulcanus to bootstrap the cycle was exactly as annoying as i expected
>>1915474>What's the most spaghetti part of your base?my entire gleba setup
>>1915474Loving it so far.I have started attempting to get legendary items. Asteroid reprocessing seems to be the easiest way. Getting the planetary specific resources is a ball ache though. I've managed to cobble together 40ish legendary big mining drills and that took fecking forever. And 20 holmium plate's. Fucking loathed to go back to Fulgora and fix those "no logistic storage space" messages.Nauvis is still a big mess. I can't be bothered upgrading it since I want to make Gleba or Vulcanis my main planet. I can't decide which to choose though. I wanna take advantage of the infinite resources to make a base that barely needs to expand. Vulcanis has free infinite almost everything, amazing solar and voiding into lava but woeful plastic production, needs a hideous amount of coal. If I can supply vulcanis with my coal generation ship that's a good start but 12k/min coal may not be enough later on. Gleba also has free everything and plastic practically grows on trees, along with everything else, but no stone. The paltry amounts scattered about don't count for much. And I can't get stone from space either.Tough choice, I can see myself scaling both up to see what they're like.
>>1916785>blue belt bacteria retarderanon please
>>1916785that's a lot of lube
>>1916785Wtf is all that lube for? Planning an orgy with the Pentapods??
>>1916785the longer I look at it the worse it gets
>>1916785You are an artist.
>>1917086I had the space
>>1917075>>1917086I was producing so much jelly that the inserters on the left side could never get a space to put it, so half my brains were spoiling. I needed something to eat the jelly
>>1917539and instead of just setting down a heating tower you decided to stockpile enough lube to make - at a deficit - 53000 engines
>>1917568Yes exactly
>>1915474speaking of I just landed on fulgora and am not sure what you're supposed to ship in and what produce locally or what do with the scrap products that build up. You can't dump them in chests forever they build up fast and then clog the belt halting everything else. I also realized that walking a few meters in any direction you find huge islands that actually have lots of space to build but tearing everything down to build elsewhere would be a hassle.
>>1917955no need to import anythinggive the chests an overflow arm that puts stuff back in front of the recyclers when it's full
Finally, first circuit boards made
>>1918292I didn't know that recyclers can make stuff disappear. That makes things too easy.
>>1918455it's outright required for aquilo
>>1918434damn those are some ugly sprites
>>1918434wait you've got all that shit and you're still stuck using burners?
>>1918464ugly sprites for an ugly game
>>1918481The inserters are free, but In Pyanodon, getting even the second science pack is the equivalent of launching a rocket in regular factorio. I still cant even make splitters, Electric drills seem hundreds of hours away
>>1915474>How is the Space Age expansion treating you? It's really fucking boring.I'm 100% vindicated on calling Wube niggers faggots. They doubled down on tedium while also padding the game-play even more and adding item rarity on top of it.4 fucking belt tiers.12 colors of "science" packs. Can't make this shit up.
>>1919440>buys factorio expansion pack>wtf this is just more factorio
>>1915478I like the idea of the environment being the enemy, but Fulgora's threats weren't threatening enough. Placing a lightning rod and being fine forever doesn't make you feel like you've overcome a great problem.I wish the planet had things like radioactive ruins or alien factories where you had to get protective gear to approach them, storms were more volatile with longer gaps in between weather changes, and sometimes just having to hunker down and go underground when things got too bad. Fulgora should encourage you to have a small core base that you can protect with expensive upgrades and a large, sprawling, but cheap set of machines that get shut down by storms. Basically make the place feel like a threat without needing aliens to do it.
>>1919601Do the lightening rods degrade?
>>1919672No. Also, lightning rods are already part of the ruins when you get there. Also, one shield is enough to make you immune to lightning. It doesn't exist as a challenge, just a new way to generate free electricity.
>nauvis chip factory stalls because it ran out of... water
>more gleba nerfsshitters won
>>1919901How does this happen?
>>1920091it was piped through my 8 reactor NPP
destroyers should try to expand into unclaimed territory
>>1919973Where?
>>1920140askjeeves.com
>>1918455Space for recyclers is an issue hence the island size on fulgoraBut generally yeah, fulgora is an easy planet unless you refuse to use trains. Not vulcanis easy but easy nonetheless
>>1915478The enemy is all the junk you need to stop from clogging production with no space to fix it.
>>1917057Just use a recycler with quality modules in it. Make the end product with no quality settings. Scrap it if it's no good enough and make a factory making the same product at a higher quality level and repeat until you get what you want.
>>1919581>factorio is a synonym of tediumWhat a self-own
>>1917057You could just import bio flux from gleba and make plastic that way.
>>1920376the bioplastic recipe uses too much flux to be worth it. but using biochambers to crack oil to gas IS worth the effort
>>1920512When I set up my Gleba base for just science and light mall work one bio chamber making plastic and like 2 making Bio Flux was more than enough for everything.
>>1920637on gleba "everything" means just blue chips for rocket launches, of course that's plenty. off-planet yellow science, you may need a bit more flux than that...
>>1916785did you intentionally design this base as badly as possible?
>>1920715What's wrong with it?
>>1920958what isn't
>>1920966The fact that it just werks
>>1915484Brother you clearly played the game for over 40 hours, you had fun
>>1920372I've got something similar to that. Making foundries with quality though and scrapping everything not legendary in recyclers with quality. This sometimes results in legendary tungsten carbide so I can directly assemble a legendary foundry/big mining drill.>>1920376I think im just gonna make science on Vulcanis that needs stone and hope that coal from space + prod research + legendary prod mods will be enough to feed Vulcanis plastic needs. The other sciences that take red/blue circuits and dont need stone can be done on Gleba for free.Fucking stone man, they could all be done on Gleba if it wasn't for stone lol.
>>1920978that just makes things worse
>>1916288Going to Gleba first is a good idea if you aren't fun-averse because of the 50% productivity bonus the biolabs get.
>>1920373>new and different challenges are tediumListen man I think this game isn't for you.
>>1921634>a rehash of the same thing is a challengeI like it, how you are focusing on me instead of the argument. If you have nothing to say, don't reply.
>>1920373>game about problem-solving>what do you MEAN I have to solve more problems!
>>1921667I already said that the challenge is both new and different. That is your argument, that it's boring tedium. You're both wrong AND retarded. Gb2reddit, right now.
>>1921677What problem solving? There's nothing to "solve" in factorio. I've done almost everything in it long time ago.>>1915484It's really fucking annoying when non-gamers peddle their stupid fucking opinions.Name one thing that's not completely straightforward. Did spoilage break your small stupid brain? Or are you expecting to receive a noble prize for placing a heat-pipe? Maybe you retards don't know what tedium means? If you like it that much then go and fucking play it, because the dumb shit your write implies that you clearly haven't.
ok i sent a crusher asteroid collector and cargo bay up to my platform but i cant get them built. i can only seem to build extra platform land...
What's your Factorio confessionMine is that I've never figured out space platforms and only use blueprints
>>1921948Lol space platforms are easy
Are you really supposed to use the weak solar power to make water to then make heat power in order to start up production on Aquilo?
>>1923092You could have brought higher quality solar panels so they would be 10-40% less shit
>>1923154I don't do quality.
>>1923092Yeah. Unless you ship in a nuclear reactor and barrelled water. Although I haven't tried that, dunno if it would work.
>>1921948i've never done nuclear power or quality
>>1923373still need power to unbarrel the water
>>1915474this game got me laid for the first timewasn't worth it
>>1923520How is that possible
>>1923520How big was his dick?
>>1923469Ah balls :(
>>1923469a task you could trivially do by hand or by hooking up your 1.5GW personal fission generators>nooo you have to wait for the 1% solar to do itwube pls
>>1924269*MWincidentally on the topic of power, a captive biter spawner turns 1 bioflux into 125 kWh of power. why are you not powering your base on biter ovens?
>>1924270To power all six million of my machines? I can't make the math add up. Just doesn't seem feasible.
>>1924592well obviously you're going to need more than half-a-dozen heating towers
>>1924269>hooking up your 1.5GW personal fission generatorshow do i do this?
>>1924767the same way you manually empty the barrel
>make a massive solar plant>suddenly all the power plants i worked hard on have stopped producing anything >i don't get to watch them workI'm going to delete the panels
>>1915474Finished this a couple weeks ago and it was really boring towards the end.Gleba was the most fun planet, honestly. Trying to make a big defense, but in the end I was just driving a tank over pentapods.Aquila became the most boring planet for me, from which I could only take out boring science packages. Even with Fulgora I had fun, since it was the first planet and I was tired of the biters.By the time I reached the edge of the star system and the game told me that I won. I immediately quit and deleted the game, as the game got on my nerves. The beginning is good, but after Gleba there is nothing interesting. I wanted to see more content in the end, since the rail gun and fusion reactor did not impress me. And more threats in space.
aquilo was fun, heatpipes were miserable in a good way. but nothing i got from aquilo was the least bit interesting.
what really got me tired of the late game was all the interplanetary cross-shipping
>>1927405Theres two paths at the endgame, not mutually exclusive:>Build a megabase>Try modsGame has a shit load more replayability than you're giving it credit for.
>>1927445>nothing i got from aquilo was the least bit interesting.the fusion reactor was especially lame. sure it makes more power than nuclear, but it's much less interesting to set up.
>>1927899Yep it feels like a fan mod
>>1928379it's a tricky problem since the fusion reactor needs to be, at the same time- more challenging to set up than a large fission setup- more rewarding once set upbut a large nuke plant will pretty much solve your power problems forever
>>1915476gleba a shit. vulcanus is by far the best planet in terms of gimmick, challenges, and music.
>>1929720vulcanus isn’t challenging at all and the tech isn’t great, they made artillery too much of a pain to use
>>1929720what fucking challenge
damn you guys have worse opinions than /egg/. I thought they were shitters
>>1923092Had time to play some more, this is how Aquilo ends up looking. Then I guess you're supposed to build a Promethium space platform with big rail guns for the next science - right? I did that and even made quality stuff for it. But TROLOLOLOL! The game just ends. When you reach the solar system edge - The end, victory screen, thanks for playing our game you won. Next science? Promethium? Lol just kidding there's no such thing. And there are no uses for it anyway since everything has been researched. Lame.
>>1931164This. Bunch of fucking brainlet retards in this thread.
