Pharaoses didn't look like that

I want to like it. Bronze Age Mediterranean is a kino upon kino setting, but I honestly can't stand Total War games. Something about the way they control, and the open but not really open campaign just feels weird.
>>
The campaign customization options are a very good development for TW. Battle weather effects are cool. It’s not my favorite but I like it too.
>>
I like it too. The increased management requirements due to more resources, the massive decrease in cavalry reliance, infantry mattering, particularly elite units.

They did later on (when their crafting went to shit)

Yeah, the red hats came later

I'll buy another Total War game when these lazy niggers finally fix the AI. Until then it's just another Attila reskin.
>>

Depending on the time and dynasty they absolutely did

its honestly shrimple
certain pharohs were black, certain pharohs were not.

Is it good since Dynasties came out? I haven't really played any new TW games and I looked into Pharaoh before Dynasties and it looked pretty shit. UI looked absolutely amateurish, like Nintendo bad.
>>

It will never happen because CA is staffed entirely by retards. They've been running on forks of rome 2 for 10 years, they have no idea how to make the fundamental changes that the series needs.
The real tragedy is that there's no AA studio out there offering a replacement for classic Total War gameplay.

anon there is always grand tactician civil war :^)

Based, everyone knows pharaohs were nordic gods

The UI is basically Rome II's UI with a Bronze Age coat of paint and some buttons moved around. These games are minimally different from each other.
>>
>>1926221
I bought Dynasties and I enjoy it. There’s a lot of replay value. I imagine I’ll put 200 hours into it in 2025.

it's okay anon everyone has a shit taste in some area

isnt it crap?

Yes. If you're talking about the very last dynasty representing the last and worst 5% of their history, absolutely.

I wish it had done better enough to justify them doing what I highly suspect they wanted to do, an iron age expansion. Since while the chariot age is neat, the way chariots work in the game isn't quite as optimal (If they really are doing 40kTW then it would have been the perfect time to test a 'plane' system of a unit that can constantly move by default, and allow you to have your chariots do fly-bys and the like). You lose Mycenae and the sea people but you gain a bit more.

I had delusions of wanting to try to mod that in, but at this point it'd be too much work for one man. I might try and do, aside of the reskin I am working on, a "Homer's Bronze Age" where I do not have to learn how to edit the factions or maps and just allow access to units/looks circa 8th-7th century BC. So Neo-Assyria with iron gear instead of pseudo-Neo-Assyria, Dipylon and hoplon proto-hoplites, and so on. They're already halfway to that with the Cimmerians literally like...500 years before they should appear. And a lot of Mycenaean gear actually would fit for Homerified given he references the boar's tusk helmets or the dendra-y armor.

It's pretty damn good, but it still annoys me how it still feels like a step down from Three Kingdoms in some ways.

Mostly a straight up improvement compared to Atilla or Rome 2, which also makes it better than Rome 1 and Medieval 2.

the solution to cheesing the ai with horses was to just remove horses?

He is clearly talking about the Kushite Pharaohs. After which the next kings where puppets appointed by other empires.

In how many total war game are there infantry units with a higher charge bonus than cavalry?
>>
>>1920153
will they ever add proto-hebrews or would that cause too much controversy? the game already got the proto-philistines

There's still saitic Pharaohs but that's just peak hipsterism to know they existed.

There's no more updating it/content so there's no chance of it. The Merenptah Stele references Israel in 1208 BC:
>"Israel is laid waste and his seed is no more."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_ancient_Israel_and_Judah#Background:_Late_Bronze_Age_(1550%E2%80%931150_BCE)

But at this time there would be absolutely nothing to distinguish Israel from other Canaanites, unless you drew from the bible and even then there wouldn't be much. So wherever Israel is, presumably Samaria rather than Yerusalem (which I know is a settlement) can just be represented there unless someone else has it.

My conspiracy theory remains that they wanted to do an Iron age campaign given before they made it all freemium with Dynasties the plan was for a campaign DLC on top of the other two faction ones. In which case you'd have more of a presence for Judah or Israel if before ~735 BC or so. When I looked over it around 735 or so you really get an optimum campaign map situation if you wanted to make a compelling DLC. At that time you have Tiglath-Pliser the 3rd introducing the reforms to Neo-Assyria and starting the real conquest ball rolling with the iconic Neo-Assyrian units, Egypt is a divided mess chiefly between Piye the self styled holy warrior of Kush and the Libyan Pharaoh in Sais (his successors in the 7th century make use of greek mercenaries so that's a clear roster lean for them), the 1st Messenian War [may] be happening, you've got the possibility of Pheidon (His dates range for like 200 years) of Argos who is attributed with creating the hoplite, the Scythians are decade(s) away from rampaging across the map like it's medieval 2 mongols.

About the only thing you'd need to do with the map is slightly expand it Eastward and Northward to have Urartu and the caucasus proper as well as Media.
>>

Also around 735 and you have Israel still present, while just 5-10 years later it's smote by assyria and you have the lost tribes of Israel exiled. Phrygia is about to fall to the Scythians and you can make the Midas that ruled at the time inspired by the mythological Midas (phrygians seem to have used the name Midas like English used Henry or Arabs use Mahmud or Uthman). Lydia's got some weird situation of a pseudo-cuckold-voyeur in charge who got NTR'd because he wanted his bodyguard to check out how hot his wife was and then his wife told the bodyguard "kill my husband and marry me or I kill you now" when he saw her naked. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candaules

But Lydia was attributed to have heavy cavalry in the mid 600s so that'd be the neat schtick for them.

This is why M2 still draws thousands of daily players. You could reshape the entire map any way you wanted.
