Anyone give this a shot yet? Hasn’t been released, but free play test on steam rn.It’s very much a Warcraft 2 style RTS, though they handle food a little differently…Very simple right now - 2 factions and 4ish units per faction, but solid old school RTS game.Give it a shot and lets talk about it.
I saw a few vids on youtube about it this week. Looks alright. For something so derivative, I don't know why I wouldn't just play the original though?

>The UIWhy is there now only one UI for all games, just with different placements? Either commit to minimalism and have the *game world* give all the necessary information, or at least make it diegetic/thematic like actually good games used to do before game dev was opened up to the talentless and inspirationless.
>>1920291I want it to be cool, but it really feels like just a modernized warcraft II. That's not a terrible thing, but it doesn't do anything very interesting and I dislike the micro required to pop potions on individual units. It seems designed around AI assist which is also a bad thing.
>>1927785Units potions when they are low though?I'd say its got potential, but you can tell its really early alpha at the moment. It only goes up to Ogre/knight tech, and you can tell there's more units he really wants to add more things like heroes. I do like that units get levels too like C&C. Its less pure war2 and more like he wants to add a mishmash of cool things he's seen like buildings being garrison able.
>>1927862Do they auto potion even if they're under your own control? I mean that's better I guess, but you would still then need to re-buy the potions yourself which is waste of time micro.I would prefer there just to be a heal on footmen with a long cooldown or adding churches in tier 1 with priests or something. It feels to me like footmen are simply too good since they can climb buildings, damage buildings, have defensive stance and are of course the basic unit. Archers certainly feel mediocre at best, cannons could probably be buffed slightly and I guess knights are okay, though a little slow for being mounted.Pretty sure I can just mass footmen and beat most opponents.
>>1927871Given how much damage a leveled up Ogre can do it may not be plausible. Archers need some better tweaks yeah they just kinda suck. And yeah they auto potion under your control, but it does need an option to just autobuyBut I'm willing to let some things slide. It's one dude making it and its really in alpha. If things shape up and nothing gets fixed I'll consider it worse off.I do want the ogres look to change a bit though. Heads look so weirdly large on their bodies.
wow, yet another iteration of gookclick garbage?
>>1927938You are looking for the AoE or SC2 thread.
>>1928188isn't this game just another iteration of aoe and sc formula? that's what i meant
>>1928195It's based on Warcraft 2 with some additional things like the addition of Warcraft 3 styled heroes. If you mean its an RTS well yes that is what it is. Though its currently not really an APM rush nightmare with build orders and all that. Maybe in the future.
>>1927938Is there a single RTS game where multitasking better isn't an advantage lmao
>>1920291>We want the most repulsive mobile graphicsThis could have 10/10 impeccable gameplay and I still wouldn't play it.
>>1928241>multitaskingthat's the point, having to queue a villager/unit every couple of seconds is something you need to learn to do automatically to be the most efficient. I prefer coh2 over this spastic gookslop
>>1928241>is there a single game where doing x better isn't an advantagebetter is always better than not better
