Last time I played PA a few months back the AI was completely broken. Has anything changed?
>>
>>1920436
Is just a tech demo, tried to play many times and the AI will do some insane alliances and wars worse than vanilla vic, doesnt even try to go historical route on anything, economy doesnt work at all and mods are always broken, real shame, wanted so much to play a vic game in less than an hour, but rn is just an abomination who looks like it but isnt

>Valerus9
> @everyone. Well the news are out. I am in charge of KE. So you might be wondering what's next. Well it's some answers to important questions. And yes, this is important.

> 1. "Now that Katerina left the project is it continued to be developed or is it dead?"
> No it isn't dead. If no updates happen within a month of the last update then the project is dead. I am not planning to abandone the project any time soon.

> 2. "How are you going to develop KE alone?"
> That's what I was trying to figure out in the past days, but it seems that now I have to either hurry up or people get impatient. Currently it will be a 3 step program:
> Step 1: Check if the issue is difficult to fix
> Step 2: if not then I fix it
> Step 3: In either case the bug will be asked to be reported so it isn't lost in the see of messages

> 3. "Will you force your vision or continue katerina's vision of KE?"
> Neither. I plan a deschombertization and dekaterinaization (Which means that any naming that reflects their involvement will be changed as well as the whole codebase will be revised). Everyone who contributed to this project will only be credited in the github. As well as I plan to have a poll about a new name for this project.

> 4. "Do you plan to work with Schombert or anyone else?"
> I rather not work with Schombert nor anyone who is on the team of PA. Currently I am planning to do things that in long term help the project not become dead easily. So for now I rather not work with anyone else. I want to lay the groundwork for such times.

> 5. "Are you even skilled enough to work on KE?"
> We'll see in the following month.

> If anyone else has a question please ask it in general and I will add it to this message.

> TL;DR: The project isn't dead and will be continued to be developed.

i actually like the states mechanic in vic3
what if u had less provinces into states and u took 6 turn of battles to take a state representing 6 wars for province.
the terrain hedged a roll based on the place there combat took place like 3farmland 1 mountain 1 urban. so 3x6 1x6 1x6 rolls and removing a roll per won province + hedged for general trait for combat expertize*manuver skill.
it would mean less annoying micro.

Big economy overhaul
> Add specialization of economy: nations and private investors set their research priority which in long run decrease required inputs.
> Add UI to display data for the feature and interact with it. This UI will form a foundation for economy scene where we could display additional economy data and controls.
> Implement foundation of labour market: factories demand labour while pops supply it. Price of labour changes similarly to the price on all other goods.
> Removal of renormalisation of pop savings (income scaler is now set to 1)
> Addition of simple price prediction capabilities to factories
> Rebalance of desired types: now AI focus on building factories with huge profits first.
> Minor rebalance of production and consumption rates
> Significant increase of expected payouts to pops "employed" by nation to increase game difficulty a bit
> Add breakdown of tariffs in the budget window
> Separate import and export tariffs
> Fix several tariff-related bugs
> Subjects and sphered nations can't tax trade with their superiors anymore
> Tariffs on occupied territory are not collected
> Trade is decided by controller of market capital instead of state owner
> If controller of a port and controller of a capital are different, market is considered blockaded

vic community engine current direction
> Currently working on:
> -Code quality increase (description: Keeping a project's codebase code quality at a high level is important if there are other people involved. Code quality improvements mean creating comments, applying naming conventions, reorganising code, making documentation. In short term this may not give results from the player's perspective, however in long term this may result in a quicker development.)

> High priority plans (plans from which I select the next one which I work on):
> -Rework the AI's budgeting
> -Rework the AI's army movement (conquering, unconquering, stacking, etc.)
> -Rework rebel spawning
> -Rework AI Alliance logic
> -Review militancy logic
> -Add missing tooltips (There are probably a lot)
> -Change Launcher

> Future plans (plans which should be done every once in a while and not need immediate attention):
> -Switch to directx
> -Add loading screen when opening the game
> -Multiple console commands at once
> -Fixing animation

creative differences between schombert and katerina
katerina got bored and now a different person is in charge
this is my understanding of the situation
>>
>>1930124
Thanks for the QRD. I just pulled the latest PA repo and holy shit the new parts of the UI are even less intuitive and more autistic than V2. I like the idea of actual trade routes and markets and shit but this is less appealing than a spreadsheet.
>>
>>1930209
the point of this ui change is to add more things such as industry protection, more targeted tariffs etc.
>>
>>1930124
OpenVic isn't an engine, they're making it in Godot. I use the term "making" loosely.
>>
>>1930362
It's definitely an engine. Godot is used for graphics.
