Is there actually strategy in this game? I just build everything on every system, colonize every planet, research everything and make the same ships with every faction and it pretty much always works out unless I get a shitty spawn with cravers and pirates on my ass by turn 5
>>1933579>unless I get a shitty spawnMaking the best of that is strategy, having a great start is not strategy, just a forgone conclusion that you will win.
>>1933579>Is there actually strategy in this game?Yes.
>>1933579You can get away with being shit against the AI because the AI is terrible, that doesn't mean that there is no strategy.
>>1934047Well that's the thing, I don't see what "strategy" I could have in the case of a bad spawn. I still need everything but I only have so much time to do so and cutting out any one part doesn't help.I need more industry to build ships to defend myself before they reach me, but I need to reseach improvements for that.I need more science to research improvements and hulls.I need dust to support improvements and maybe buyout stuff.I need food to increase my population.I need influence to upkeep laws and maybe do some diplomacy.I just feel like 90% of the "choices" in the game are not actually choices and always have the same clear correct option. To be clear I generally have no issues winning or at least have a good Endless game but it always feel like it's just a matter of getting started.>>1934255I'd love to play against people but I can't imagine finding someone to actually play for that long, and the desync issues sound like a pain.
