is this shit good? I just realized I've had field of glory 2 sitting in my library but never touched it. It looks interesting, why does nobody ever discuss the series?
It's pretty good - good feeling of actually directing a battle instead of a big RPG combat. I tend to prefer the middle ages and pike and shot games, but what you've got in your library should give a good taste of things. There are occasional threads for it around her and there have been for years since Pike and Shot first came out, but it's not a big tentpole franchise so it's not going to get as much discussion.
>>1936398It lack good campaign mode
>>1936398because /vst/ are brainlets that never touch multiplayer games, incase you haven't noticed already
>>1936680?This game has fucking singleplayer. I've pirated the series and never touched multiplayer.
>>1936680like 95% people playing strategy games never touch multiplayer
I like it, but I am pretty bad at it.I usually manage to win with only a very high casualty rate, and that's not even on the highest difficulty. Mainly comes from setting up my army in dumb ways and not moving around enough, but oblique formation kinda balances that out. However, it makes my laptop fans go WHIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
>>1936398I enjoy it, but I suck. If FoG had a campaign mode with battles in a single game it would be pretty nice. Maybe improve the units graphics too.
FOG2 Medieval is very good. No one discusses it because the world is filled with sub100 IQ ADHD zoomer mutts
>>1936779I've played pike and shot and medieval, and they both have campaigns. Also, doesn't Field of Glory: Kingdoms have battle integration with this game? Never tried it.
>>1936779>>1936810for FoG 2 it's Empires, for Medieval it's Kingdoms
>>1936814Oh yeah i forgot the original FOG2 is brownoids in tunics and celtoids in pyjamas. oof, dodged a bullet there
>full-blown battles with thousands of soldiers is represented by a few dozen peopleIm TIRED of this bullshit in these strategy games
>>1936966Yes but the games who protray every single soldier like TW, do not realistically abstract the behavior of every single soldier, resulting in more unrealistic results.A higher level of abstraction is needed to produce historically believable results.I absolutely hope to see games that can do both in the future.
>>1936398hows the AI in that game?
>>1936996Good at tactically exploiting your openings like flanks or weak units.Deployment and strategy wise, good enough.
people complain that paradox games feel like board games, but this really does feel like a board game. I haven't played much of it, but with what little sessions I've had, I just start wishing I was playing some tabletop game with a real person then I get depressed because I know nobody who would like to play a tabletop game and close the game
>>1937329>people complain that paradox games feel like board gameswho complains about that?
>>1936966At least these games try to emulate battles and the soldiers' appearance rather than make just single animated pieces in the campaign map as in Paradrone titles
>>1936966>>1937596Such autistic complaints, use your imagination.
>>1937329it's literally a board game port
>>1937665Zzzzzzzzzz....
>>1937678Yes that's boring, but mostly because it makes battles last weeks like you're watching a WW1 meatgrinder.
>>1936398Because it's a fucking snoozer to play on PC. It's a game that should have never left the tabletop. Wargaming is primarily a vehicle for autists to autistically talk about history and military tech with other autists. FOTG, Warhammer, and all other wargame systems are boring outside of that setting.
>>1938017>I didn't have fun with this personally so it shouldn't existlol kill yourself
>>1938021>Admits to having objectively shit tasteThat's a lot of word to type up just to admit that you're a faggot
