I've picked up Shadows of Forbidden Gods as my first GSG, but I'm kind of having trouble understanding the flow of the game. I'm playing my second game as Iastur and I see people online say to use madness to start civil wars and regular wars, but wouldn't I just get more points from just ensuring the rulers already on the map become enshadowed then have insanity? What's the point of making them kill each other/themselves with unrest?

I have been playing Shadows as well but I can't pretend to have a good handle of the game. I beat the snake campaign by creating a Shadow Empire and then having my snake eat a few cities.
