>>2290893They really are trying too hard to force matriarchies.

>>2290876it used to be that all-artillery armies were meta because they vaporized everything in bombardment phase but it got nerfed. Now they're just "ok".Before age of reformation: cannons are only for sieges. Either make a cannon only stack you run around separately between sieges, or stick a few in reserves only to add a siege bonus.Chambered Cannons are when they get better, but you still don't need that many. Personally around this time I start forming my army with all cavalry on the flanks and infantry in the center, put some artillery with the cav on the flanks and they can bombard + cavalry will sometimes tank for the artillery. The cavalry melts the flanks to start flanking the enemy quicker and deal massive casualties, while the infantry stands solid in the center. Artillery kills and demoralizes left/right flank units during the bombard phase to make this easier.Note that artillery does not bombard from the reserves. This is fake news. To use artillery in battle it has to be in the front sections and this exposes it to damage. There is no "back row" or "retreating to reserves" or any such mechanics, I don't know where people come up with this shit but i've seen it several times and it's not real

>>2290846Why are her eyes at 12pm and 2:30pm?
>>2290893>>2290894I imagine it's because they want to simulate dynasties dying out (which is obviously historical) but they also know it's frustrating to have your characters die at 20 years old in hunting accidents so they just opt to have them not be born instead. I recall how in Crusader Kings they just opt for making characters have low fertility instead of the historical condition of couples having like 8 kids but half of them dying as infants.>>2290895>irlThe human sex ratio is very slightly male favoured by about 1%.
>>2290902One eye to watch you and the 2nd eye to watch out for Afro-Americans
>>2290868No, it's an urban myth
>>2290893It's definitely not 50% but only in certain circumstances I can't figure out. It seemed even at first despite randomness, but as the game went on playing as Ottomans, I started to get 4 girls for every boy pretty consistently. Every male has four wives so there's a huge sample size. One guy had 11 daughters and no sons.

>>2290912>In 1938, with the annexation of Austria by Nazi Germany, Judenburg became part of the Third Reich. Due to the presence of the word Jude ("Jew") in the town's name, many possible new names were suggested, including Zirbenstadt (after Zirbe, the German name for the Swiss pine tree) and Adolfsburg (in honor of Adolf Hitler). However, the planned renaming was indefinitely postponed after the outbreak of war and ultimately never happened.

>>2290942mountains are op you need like 5x their army to have a chance at invasion
>>2290946The ratio is (slightly) male-favoured at birth, it just varies after that point for various factors like women being more likely to live longer or certain cultures (like India there) having a lot of female infanticide. And of course it can vary locally too, like if you live in an oil town then there'll be a lot more men moving there to work in the oil industry.

>>2291017As soon as Lenin died, it turned out that the second person in the party, Comrade Trotsky, was a traitor. Kamenev, Zinoviev, Bukharin and Stalin overthrew Trotsky and expelled him from the USSR. But a couple of years later it turned out that Kamenev, Zinoviev and Bukharin were also enemies and pests. Then the valiant comrade Heinrich Yagoda arrested them. A little later, Yagoda was arrested as an enemy agent by Yezhov. But a couple of years later it turned out that Yezhov was not a comrade, but an ordinary traitor and an enemy agent. And Yezhov was arrested by Beria. After Stalin's death, everyone realized that Beria was also a traitor. Then Zhukov arrested Beria. But soon Khrushchev learned that Zhukov was an enemy and a conspirator. And he exiled Zhukov to the Urals. And a little later it was revealed that even Stalin himself was an enemy, a pest and a traitor. And with him, most of the Politburo. Then Stalin was taken out of the mausoleum, and the politburo with Shepilov were dispersed by honest party members led by Khrushchev. Several years passed and it turned out that Khrushchev was a voluntarist, a crook, an adventurer and an enemy. Then Brezhnev sent Khrushchev to retire. Soon Brezhnev died, and it turned out that he was a pest, a moron and the cause of stagnation. Then there were two more senile morons, whom no one even had time to remember, because they were dying like flies. But then the young, energetic Gorbachev came to power. And it turned out that the whole party was a party of pests and enemies, but he will fix everything now. It was then that the USSR collapsed. And Gorbachev turned out to be an enemy and a traitor. Thankfully Russia had the great president Yeltsin to guide it safely through but he turned out to be an alcoholic US collaborator who bankrupted Russia so the presidency went to Putin, who fixed the economy and ended the reign of terrorists, but soon he ordered hundreds of thousands to die because he was a CIA operative.

>>2291262historically accurate and based
>>2291228A better question would be, why do the developers have no idea what the game is supposed to be like and how it's supposed to work? Has no one in the team ever played the campaign and realized that there's absolutely no reason to pick decentralization? Has no one on the team thought out how the impact of levies should change throughout the ages? Has no one on the team saw that AI makes the most retarded peace deals possible and thought about adding weights to them? Has no one on the team ever thought that the pops in SEA should not be craving them some wheat? Why are they changing the pop growth modifiers after release and not in pre-alpha? Why are they changing the impact of roads on the market access? They literally have no idea what they are doing, and are just throwing pasta against a wall hoping something sticks.
>>2291285They had a perfect fully formed vision of how the game should be, but then content creators ruined it.Initially:>vassals were weak and didn't help in warsBut content creators said their vassals should and now a nation with vassals can't lose (France, Yuan)>trade was the biggest source of income and helped the AI growBut then content creators said it was overpowered so they nerfed it and the AI started doing nothing. Then they "fixed" that problem by having the AI ignore infamy and blob.

>>2291285>realized that there's absolutely no reason to pick decentralizationdecentralization should be trash though the point of the game is to start as a shitty decentralized country and start centralizing all power to the crown
>>2291292It is extremely obvious they had a very solid perfect system down but it was messed with by content creators making them add superpowers so it was more arcadey like eu4. Hopefully we get a lot of nice gamerules as a compromise in the big future patch. The game regularly shows signs of the great stuff laying underneath. Just a few key tweaks, I don't care if they make winfaggots seethe. This is a game you can enjoy no matter if you win or lose. I want to lose more if anything. man this game is boring as fuck even on very hard. Once your economy is large enough to support a full combat width regular army you basically win. Fuck the anti railroad/mission faggots so fucking hard. I want to be scared of france, austria, spain, and the ottomans. If the ottomans dont have anatolia by 1550 my immersion is completely destroyed and i alt f4. If you want to play without the "history" why dont you just go play total war??? The entire premise of these games was "how would i rule x country instead of x historical leader"
Bulgaria, Serbia, or Karamanids?
I don't care if it's railroading, just give events for specific rulers to appear or religions to spawn that the AI will take unless you ask the AI to take ahistorical paths in the game options. That way you get your LARP without having to look into the game files to force yourself into niche situations. It's a bit absurd that Anglicanism isn't guaranteed during the reformation for example.

With restaurants in general you are supposed to gorge yourself or bring stuff home as leftovers (although you obviously can't bring a dessert home unless it is a cake or something). I assume floats generally would've been slightly smaller in the past although it is worth noting that ice cream isn't as sugary as it may seem at the sizes it is typically served at. I do think something like a Coke Zero would work better for one though. Other than the sugar content, I've noticed that artificial sweeteners retain flavor better where as regular soda tends to not taste like much when you've had something else that is sweet. A float forms a sort of cream on the top of the soda that tastes really good.

>>2291887Turns out you got a few days (a monthly tick?) between "a hidden event removes your heir from Milan" and "The PU breaks off", so you can just time "Negociate succession law" on them and reinstate your heir on their throne. Thanks god these paradox niggers are retarded and can't design flowcharts that don't fizzle out at the slightest unexpected change.

>>2291972So would you rather pay extra tax or be forced to convert under penalty of death?
>>2291967Before Indian independence it was well known that early Indian unifiers were European. Greco-Roman culture dominated india for many centuries. But anyone who studies history knows the truth.

>>2291991>muslims force converted far more people than christians and thats a factMuslim states still have Christian minorities that have lived continuously in those lands for over a thousand years. Meanwhile current Muslim minorities in Europe only go as far back as Ottoman times at best. Muslims were historically also much more tolerant of Jews and also didn't have the kind of insane sectarian violence Christians often did. There was no Sunni/Shia 30 Years War.Obviously for the last hundredish years, under the influence of liberalism and secular humanism Christian countries have tended more towards tolerance and conversely most Muslim states have backslid tremendously. But for most of history the opposite was true.
This isn't /int/. Kill yourselves.
>>2291984vghi really dont like how the game ends up incentivicing a 20th century road network with every location connected to all its neighborsthere's just no strategic thinking, the correct decision is always to build infinity roads

>>2292008Holy shit are you dense, there were no muslim minorities here because that trash is not native to europe.>There was no Sunni/Shia 30 Years War.Yeah you just keep murdering eachother to this day lmao.
>>2292008>There was no Sunni/Shia 30 Years War.Yeah, it's been going on now for 1400 years
>>2292010Does it though? Pretty sure you only need roads leading out of your capital, market centers and ports.
>>2292010It's because rivers are underpowered. Roads really shouldn't overtake water transport until decent railroads are invented and that's out of the timeframe. Also, roads should enhance rivers rather than replacing them, because lots of water based shipping consisted of land based animal power pulling barges along from the riverside. Better road = more effective river shipping. The new buff to roads that lets them ignore vegetation, well it makes sense, but rivers don't ignore vegetation despite not being covered in vegetation by definition, so it's yet another river nerf
>>2292004>Your retarded religion spread by the sword.I'm not a Muslim and I think Islam is retarded like all religions are, Muhammad was a pedophile and a warlord. I'm just not a fucking retard.>Christianity peacefully converted the Roman Empire from withinVery misleading, Christianity was still a minority within the Empire by the time the state converted and despite all the larp about seeing crosses in the sky the reason for conversion was very obvious, it was a tremendous tool for enhancing state power, with bans and penalties on non-Christian practices happening pretty much immediately. And then of course after the collapse of Rome Christian Europeans went on a relentless series of crusades and "missionary work", aka "convert your pagan religion to Christianity or you'll be the next crusade target".
>>2292021>Also, roads should enhance rivers rather than replacing themThey do kinda, you can only build bridges if it has a river.Rivers also give you access to pound lock canals, together that is another -10% proximity.
So according to the leftists at Paradox, the tag that built this and its land are more developed than the Irish? There are locations in Ireland with less dev at game start than locations in the Arctic Circle, too. Absolutely retarded.
>>2292022>it was a tremendous tool for enhancing state powerAre you implaying this was a bad thing you luddite cuck?>convert your pagan religion to Christianity or you'll be the next crusade targetYes because these pagans would still murder and enslave their neighbours repeatedly, it was in the interest of every european for the continent to be united in religion. But anyway crusades bad is peak reddit.

>>2292029You have now moved the goalposts from "actually Christianity was more tolerant" to "it was good when Christians did it". Concession accepted.
>>2292027It is because everything has to be tied to one system. It makes it hard to depict regional differences properly. Really they should allow stuff like negative development but someone would probably call it offensive.
>>2292034you clearly are retarded because why would you tolerate people that hurt you?
>>2292032americanized atheism really did a ton of damage to the perception of christianity, you people are insane if you believe this
>>2292027There's a lot of things I would call the Irish, but developed is not one of them.
>>2292036> they should allow stuff like negative developmenYou could argue there should be a more stark difference in development between e.g. Paris and Nunavut but that just means Paris should have its dev increased and Nunavut set at or near 0. Going into the negatives makes absolutely no sense, how does "negative" development exist?
>>2292044Maybe it is extra vegetation and shit still around that impedes development.

>>2292430>I don't know why they did thisGookadox has a Corean or Koreaboo on the team that makes Gookland overpowered in every single game. They also get flavor events despite being a backwater for all of history. In EU4, they started with a modifier in the capital that allowed them to gain monthly progress towards any institution in the world once it's discovered. It's called "Tripitaka Koreana" which IRL is just the Buddhist scripture that China, India, and SEA already had, but translated into Korean. How does that allow gooks to learn about Colonialism and Global Trade the second it spawns in Europe? The answer is Gookadox makes Gookland special in every game no matter what. I only played EU4 but I hear they also have extra power and flavor in HOI4 and Vicky 3.I mean in EU4, Gookland has like level 6 forts in every province by the time Japan unites. In real life, Japan just walked through all of Korea in the 1500s until Ming intervened.
>>2292449>How does that allow gooks to learn about Colonialism and Global Trade the second it spawns in Europe?it doesn'tthey nerfed it considerably after like one or two patches so now it only speeds up growth that's already present rather than magically making this happen, because even they understood that that was a stupid effect

The AI needs weighting to use the assimilation and convert action more strategically, taking in account accepted culture (and culture acceptance needs to be easier to get higher btw) and the relation with the other cultures in the province of interest. >>2292934Looks Japanese
>>2292945If you ever release non muslim turks as vassals they get very japanese looking flags
>>2292946It is because random Japanese flag elements are most of the ones they gave to Asia entirely as a region. I assume it was for if random clans appeared in Japan, although I don't know if that actually happens. They really need to segment that mechanic more. Maybe a Japanese flag can pass in the rest of East Asia and possibly India (a lot of the Indian flags in this game are surprisingly clean looking), but it really fails for everything in Asia overall. It feels like they added this last minute, Paradox artists are always weirdly slow.
>>2292950Makes sense if the devs expected emergent turkish states to never be anything but muslim so they gave them no cultural flags
>>2292945>>2292950>>2292952it is a cultural flag, but it's because they have a very similar design style[generic Japanese flag] depicts the clan's mon (emblem)[generic Turkic flag] depicts the clan's tamga (emblem)
Scotland should have clan building based countries that fight each other and have loyalty to the central government. They also will help fight England if they like the central government enough or feel like it. Maybe they also can rebel. As an alternative history thing, it could also be cool if a very weak Scotland could collapse into a warring states situation like Japan.

The problem with EU5 is that war is not destructive enough. The rate of attrition due to Malaria in Africa should be the norm. Supply routes should not exist until, idk, 1700+, all the food your army consume should come from the province they're in, and when it's gone, your army and the population of that province should die out much, much faster. Forts should be much more expensive to maintain, and sieging one should give you the option to sack the city, killing a part of the population and destroying buildings.

Army slider should take more time to become fully active>You're demilitarized>Suddenly get attacked>"Oh shit we've been caught unprepared!">"Nevermind let me just drag the slider to full and in less than a month my country is back on full war footing"Instead of impacting morale when dragged down, it should lower the manpower requirement of divisions. Represents countries in peacetime keeping their regiments at only partial strength, mainly for training + parade purposes. When mobilized, empty bunk beds in the barracks get filled up with new soldiers. You would experience a dip in manpower and need to wait for your demobilized units to reinforce
>>2293643Not that I know of, logically it will take longer for you to get enough peasants to promote when you need -2000 laborers compared to -1000, butt promotion speed is a nothingburger in my experience, they will promote eventually anyway so who cares.
>>2293661not exactly sure but I've seen something similar to this before. If you don't research the intermediate building, you can construct both the lower-level and higher-level buildings at the same time. For example in one game I got institutions spreading really slow so by the time I could get Drydocks, I could already research Shipyards, so I skipped Drydocks. Now I can build both Docks and Shipyards.Maybe in theory you could build both a Bastion and a Fortress on the same location if you skip Star Forts.

New beta branch update just came out that nerfs malaria in MENA, increases the AI weight to have large armies and navies and does some cursory work on reducing AI conquering faraway land, it seems like. But the changes to AI conquering seem minimal at this point so I'm still not sure this is going to be a good balance point, they actually deployed more "fixes" that would encourage the AI to conquer shit than they did balance changes to discourage blobbing.https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/threads/1-0-10-open-beta-update-4.1888162/unread

>>2293974that have maybe 1/64th German blood now. Plus very few of them claim it at all. German Americans actively purged their German heritage during ww1.
>>2293952>>2293960It's way more recent than WW2. After the war there was some bitching over de Gaulle's obsession with strategic autonomy during a time when most of NATO was happy with armed forces and procurement integration with the US. Most of that remained in the think tanker/politician cunt sphere though. The stuff you see today is the result of France(and some other Euros) being cagey at following the US into Iraq. Amerimutt politicians seethed about it and turned it into a big thing in the States(e.g. the autistic campaign to rename French fries into freedom fries) as well as the "fuck them, we don't need those pussies anyway since they surrender easily etc etc" becoming a heavily pushed stance. Keep in mind mutts worship soldiers like demigods so presumably this was the worst insult they could come up with in their culture. US senators bringing up Vichy, CNN and Fox playing all sorts of shit, it was a genuine mass media psyop. The Anglosphere has a long history of beefing with the French so the meme got popularized even in countries that were politically less-than-enthusiastic about joining armed intervention. This is how we actually have more "France = surrender" memes in 2025 than there was in the decade after WW2 right after France actually did surrender.Jokes on them though, de Gaulle's obstinacy was proven right the past week. America grew from Albion's seed and has inherited Albion's perfidy. A grim reminder that the Eternal Anglo must be treated no better than a Jew or worse, a Chinaman.
>>2293979>that have maybe 1/64th German blood now. Plus very few of them claim it at allEh, a quick search says that about 1/8 claim it in some capacity, and 1/3 of those don't identify any other ancestry.Which doesn't mean anything, but in a country where people are all too happy to capitalise on being 1/42947182 Tongan, it seems mildly significant. I made a change to the Naturalization Affairs mod I use together with Conversion and Assimilation Overhaul. I changed nerfed the integration bonus but added a culture and religion convertion bonus, and you can only build these buildings in conquered or integrated locations. The idea is this helps you (and the AI) properly convert the locations they get until they're "good enough". I made this to deal with the Teutonic Order never converting the pagans in the Baltic for some reason.SInce I don't own the game I just gonna post this here for you, anons.https://files.catbox.moe/om05or.7zProbably needs better balancing, but you can just change the values if you want. >>2294426You're correct that there was always an internal/collaborator element, but saying that's why Europeans were able to conquer is missing the forest for the trees. Why was there always an abundance of traitors willing to carve up the bloated domains of their overlords? Because in all those examples, you're dealing with extractive empires who ruled as uncontested hegemons in the region. Whereas the European states were a mess of smaller countries constantly fighting and competing with each other. The very fact that the Europeans crossed the globe with a military to find these peoples at all means their subjugation was only a matter of time, not chance.Imagine, now, if an Indian or Chinese explorer reached Europe with the task of conquering it. Where the fuck do they even begin? There's no Roman Emperor sitting there waiting to be deposed and replaced with a Chinese viceroy. There isn't even a place to get a foothold, because every other Euro would be trying to steal it back from them. It's too multipolar, which makes it way too stable for foreigners to conquer. Even if a traitorous Euro wanted to sell his own people out, there's no deliverable product ready for sale. The corpse of the Mughal empire on the other hand is an easy product to deliver. It's not an exclusively European thing... look how many times Persia was conquered by foreigners, and the administration remained practically the same.

>>2293980>>2294295reminder that p*tin is a cia agent sent to weaken europeonly united europe can resist both china and the us
I think people arguing over whether europeans should win 10:1 battles are kind of missing the overarching issue that regardless of how realistic it is for euros to win these battles, in order for europe to actually colonise india and indonesia they need to be able to trivially win against the mega populous indians or there needs to be some other method of colonizing these regions. I suspect the trade company vassal type was intended to fill that niche of colonising without fighting but they are totally non functional and most importantly don't give you the feeling of painting the map your nations colour.
>>2294477You should have concession wars where a dramatic battle can guarantee you the concession. The AI could take this in most cases unless it thinks it could win more easily.
>It is so dumb that Europe spawns professional armies, when there is already some in Asia and Africa, literal centuries before Europe had any. >Professional armies should be like Meritocracy, already spawned, either in Delhi or Yuan and then eventually spreads to the West. >>2295071What part of it is not working properly?>>2295070Put them into a harbor.
>>2295078Auto trade ignores population or building needs in favour of profits so those goods are not moved around at all. If your people are pissed off due to lacking sturdy grains it wont be automatically imported no matter how much you improve trade capacity. This means you wont get to import any iron as muscovy since the closest iron mines are two nodes away, Riga-> Stockholm, and there wont be any iron in Riga for you to buy unless you build up trade capacity there and manually import from Sweden
>>2295082Pop and building needs go before trades so that's irrelevant.
>>2295083It is pretty relevant if you are Russia and in need of Iron
>>2295084Then just buy iron. It's completely irrelevant to what you said. If you just use your iron then the price goes up and the auto trade imports more iron for you. Alternatively you can import it yourself if you so desire. Auto trader should not be meta gaming and making strategic decisions for you it would make the entire thing unusable if it tried to fill pop needs and automatically tanked your economy the second it was turned off. It's job is to do low effort automatic profit gathering.
>>2295086The problem is that as Muscovy you got nowhere to import Iron from early gane since no nearby markets produce iron and no AI will move Iron there in sufficient quantities for russia to forward it to them.
>>2295088It's almost as if you have to make strategic decisions regarding the way you want to structure your economy then. Again not a problem and if it worked any other way it would just kill the auto trader outright.

>>2295107Clearly it dies not if Muscovy has to ahistorically eat its way to the baltic sea before 1400 and then perhaps sail across the sea to eat central sweden if they don't build enough mines to build cannons, which they historically could.
>>2295096you have enough to cover your needs until you expand. novgorod has tons of wetlands and lakes, ruthenia and ural has plenty of iron rgo's

>>2295115Because it correlates with being a russian
I set my trade and markets to automate. How come sometimes when I look at the trading screen, the AI isn't bothering to use 90% of my trade capacity?
>>2295128Either because you just added capacity the AI only tries to make few trades a month so if you reset it it takes a long time to ramp up, or because there are no good trades left. The first issue I think is being addressed in the next patch though.
>>2295131>or because there are no good trades leftI would assume I get the best trades cause I own the market center.Had this problem in pretty much every game of eu5 I've played.
>>2295117Cool. Then you are working around the trade system not working for needs
>>2295133Best trades is relative to what you actually have and where you can reach.
RGOs should all be agriculture, and mines and everything else should be buildings with location restrictions for stuff like mines fish etc
>>2295136Speaking of, is there a meta yet for what advances to rush for in the early game?
>>2295133because of trade maintenance, a lot of low value trades are a net loss, which kinda breaks the system. trading in foodstuffs or raw materials is almost always a net loss. you think you can export grain or lumber to rich urbanised areas? no lol it straight up loses you money unless the prices spike to like +100%. thanks to trade maintenance there is no bulk trading, only high value luxuries are profitable
>>2295108According to wikipedia large scale production didn't start untill 3 centuries into the game when the russian state got enough control over the area. This could be resolved if there was some way to manually invest into expanding or finding RGOs
>>2295144Yes.
>>2295149Thanks. Could you elaborate some please?
>>2295146Which makes it very easy to outperform the AI. no ai country will ever trade for population needs and therefore always suffer a malus to pop satisfaction
God damn theres so much shit that's nested in 10 billion sub menus that you never see. For example:Diplomatic reputation and Legislative efficiency reduce antagonismIconographer artists produce art that give +10% RGO bonus on top of the standard art bonuses making them the by far best artistNavies only gain navy tradition if you pick the patrol the seas option even if the navy will still patrol without itStone/Wood/Iron are the core RGOs since they can reduce all new builiding costs by 33%Expected cost of court is an insane modifier based on your whole economy so that +2% for educating kids is going to drive you bankrupt if you spam it. Its also why plutocracy >>>> aristocracy significantly. What have you guys discovered that's hidden under 10 billion submenus?
>>2295151Trading for pop needs is bad so that's mostly good for the AI.
>>2295151I try to satisfy pop needs but those fuckers want pepper and I can't even see a location that produces pepper.
>>2295153Would it be plausible to actually convey the UI better without streamlining mechanics?
>>2295157The people who knew how to do that were laid off after imperator
>>2295150Depends on which country you start out as and if you plan to keep your religion.
>>2295139I'd be down for that.
>>2295160Well I'm talking early game so before you even really get the chance to change religion. And I usually play people in Europe. Doing Muscovy currently.
>>2295151pop satisfaction doesn't seem to cripple the AI though since they don't expand much anyway and manage to survive as wrong-culture tags (Hordes mostly)
>>2295165Catholics can change religion day 1
>>2295167To what religion?
>>2295144Depends on the country but Administrative focus in Renaissance era is almost always the correct option. By this point in the game you've captured most of your home area and stabilized your economy so the many bonuses from that focus works best (e.g. the proximity cost, the max literacy, cost of court). No point in military because the AI never optimizes their armies so just Heavy Calvary Regular spam crushes them all the way until Age of Reformation. No point in diplomatic unless you're blobbing hard (mainly for the 25% casus belli speed and -5% warscore cost). Also you should 100% avoid all military troop type advances since heavy cavalry spamming will work until age of reformation.
>>2295171They really need to overhaul the research to something like ck2. Current system is way too gamey and silly.
>>2295171So build standing army of just Heavy Cav?I've been trying to balance out my standing army...
>>2295176you use cav to fight ai levy hordes and you use infantry to assault forts
>>2295176earlygame your cav gets mixed in with all your levies so having a bunch of infantry is kind of redundant
>>2295180>>2295178What about later on when you are not using levies anymore?
>>2295182imo you want mostly infantry with some cavalry later on. infantry are best at assaulting forts and army comp for battles basically stops mattering because your regular stacks will completely dust anything the AI sends at you.
>>2295182That is when you aren't using levies anymore (day 1). You really should only use levies to siege stuff in the early game.
>>2295184>>2295185Interesting. Thanks anons!
>>2295039Everything buffing literacy of peasants is good. Literacy impacts research and economy, you need to hover over a particular class to see what kind of bonuses they get from their literacy. But for research purposes literacy for peasants is the most important thing because peasants are 80% of your nation, thus any buff on peasant literacy will improve research rate much more than the buff on clerics or nobles
Why is "unify culture" so shit? You'd expect that all pops belonging to that culture would just instantly assimilate into the new one but that is not the case. And you lose all influence too.
>>2295039devoid education is the best. the only tiny downside is the small push to traditionalist but usually that doesnt really matter.
>>2295195Influence is worthless so it's literally 0 penalty for that.
>>2295195like with japan they ran out of time and decided to fix it later
>>2295195They assimilate only if they speak the same language. Which makes sense, Spain still has lots of native minorities despite being a united country for centuries, meanwhile Russia never managed to assimilate Belarusians and Ukrainians despite controlling them for hundreds of years
>>2295200you need it to integrate cultures and spy efficiently
>>2295207So? It builds back up in about 2 years to just as high as it was before, if not higher thanks to unifying your culture.
>>2295184>>2295185so if you start with a unique infantry unit with 200 men in it and a unique manpower building you've already won the game at day 1 pretty much?
>>2295209Yes but you have already won the game day 1 because you picked the player character so what's the difference.
>>2295209Yes. Byz can rip and tear all neighbours a new asshole thanks to akritai
It's over. Now I can finally uninstall the game and come back a year later when some new DLCs and hopefully mods come out. I've done everything there is to do in EUV for now. Also, FUCK china and their POP base.
>>2295209unique manpower building yes definitely. especially in third world shitholes where it takes ages for armoury tech to spread to you. koreans getting korean barracks is one of the many reasons koreans are so strong
>>2295212Who did you start as?
>>2295212I don't know how you don't recoil from your own map. This map painting makes absolutely 0 sense, you went into fucking Scandinavia as fucking Romania but didn't touch the Black Sea at all
>>2295216wallachia. It's actually much easier than you'd expect since going concilliatory + diplo rep makes the AI NEVER attack you even if they are your historical enemy (hungary). Just ally the serbs, wait for bulgaria to attack byz then stab them in the back. Smooth sailing from there on.>>2295217The ottomans are under my PU but it was basically impossible to annex them after 1700 as it'd take a billion years. Also many of those crimean states were vassals of Ryazan, which was also under a PU with me and they started blobbing like crazy so it took 200 years to annex them too and I couldn't declare on their vassals.
