Devs released a space combat simulator if y'all want to see how fighting will be like
>>2351331checked steam forum and its no good
>>2351331makes my GPU start to lift off for some unfathomable reason
>>2351331buy ad
This some furry game?
>>2351505yeah, if it happen in demo then its uninstall and forget
>>2351331>y'allFYI this outs you as a foreign and a shill.
>>2351331>We need to show people what we are cooking for our Twilight Imperium digital edition>Let's focus on the mechanic that doesn't even consist of 5% of the gameplay>And let's also make it awful>>2351610>Being this fucking new>Not knowing islamic merchant space cats
>>2351331What is the point of releasing a combat simulator for a tabletop game that isn't about combat at all and has no difference between faction fleets? It's hilarious that there's a complexity meter under each of the faction portraits and every single one of them is the exact same>>2351505I've heard this from so many people, but it ran completely fine on my ancient piece of dogshit computer. I don't understand it
>>2354851what monitor you have?also it may be drivers
>>2351331>production is a limit on capital ships, fighters are not bound to that limitthis is not a combat simulator this is a christmas-land simulator. and i say that as someone who likes the game and plays irl and on tabletop simulator.>>2354851eh some factions have a +1 or -1 global to weapon rolls, some factions start with an upgraded unit (Sol carriers have +2 capacity)but yeah this shit is undercooked. i've no idea what they were thinking beyond "we gotta show at least something for all the devtime"
>>2351331The combat looks like absolute dogshit, can they really not at least make the ships fly around? Firing arcs? Give them real models? It's 2026.>but it's based on a tabletop gameLiterally could not care less. Interest not grabbed, skipped.
Anyone wanna play this on Tabletop Simulator while we're waiting for the digital edition? Maybe this friday night if there's enough interest.
>>2351331>looks meh>another MOO2 clone full of simplificationsYawn
>>2358786it's a digital edition of a board game that's nothing like MoO2 in both setting and gameplaythough there is an MoO boardgame with no digital edition, if you're interested
>>2358563Ever since they've did the update for TTS, I keep getting disconnected. I openly suspect sabotage. But if I manage to fix it till tomorrow, I will give be ready>>2358786>Zoomer goes full zoom
>>2360297>Zoomer>zoomer would shit on game for being too simplifiedAbsolute peak retard.>>2360254Im not. Give me Aurora like or get lost.
>>2360341Only a zoomer wouldn't know what Twilight Imperium is.Even alphas know this game, zoomers are the only ones that have a blank, since they came between editions and thus never had a chance.
>>2351331I'm full of hopium for this, but the combat-simulator should have gone with realistic unit models instead of plastic. Only played TI twice with a group of 6 IRL and it's one of my fondest gaming memories. >>2358563I don't have TTS, but i'd be eager to get a game with digital edition going with /vst/ once it releases.
>>2360350>Only a zoomer wouldn't know what Twilight Imperium is.I missed the part where i said i dont know what this is, instead of shitting on this for being too simplified like most space 4x out there.
>>2360482you equating TI to a 4x is what gives away the fact you've got no idea what TI is. stop trying to save face on an anonymous website, my zoomy friend. accept the fact that people enjoy other things that you might not.
>>2360436>I don't have TTSIt's dirty cheap for how much it gives you back, why not just get it?
>>2360482>TI>4X>Not a zoomer, I swear!
>>2360559Eat shit.>>2360540It looks like every generic MOo2 clone out there, you autistic spaz. You wanna hook me up? Give me something that looks and plays like Aurora, not faggy hexes and cards.
>>2360565>It looks likeah, the closest we will get to a confession out of a zoomer like you.>but muh steam tags!yeah they lie frequently, what about it?>hook me up?Ok, two things:First, Twilight Imperium is more about politics, trade, and diplomacy, than it is about eXploring the map and eXterminating your enemies. Victory is gained through completing (and competing for) Public Objectives, which as the name suggests are visible to everyone, and frequently concern limited resources like controlling a set of planets of a certain type that there's not enough on the board for everyone to score with. This scarcity drives most of the conflict in the game, but violence is the most expensive way to go about resolving it.If you really want to know more you can just look up a how-to-play on Youtube, the one by RTFM is good enough even if it's missing the newest expansion content.Second, if you want Aurora but on tabletop, then you'll have to make it yourself. Closest I know are Space Empires 4X, but you'll just call it a MoO-clone, and The Campaign for the Solar System: The Space war 2178-9999, which you'll call a meme and not customizeable enough while I'll call it just autistic enough to match yours. And if you just want Aurora, then go play Aurora, stop wasting time in this thread. Not an insult, just an honest recommendation. Don't even reply, we know the kinds of words you wanna use.
>>2360565>Still trying to save face on an anonymous Tibetan tanka weaving forumNigger, you could just say "I never heard about TI before" and move on (or just simply move on).Instead, you just keep making a show out of how clueless you are, making weirder and weirder claims with each post.
>>2358563update on this, I'll be hosting today at 6:30 PM GMT, or in a bit more than 4 hours from this post.to play you need a non-pirated version of Tabletop Simulator, 4~8 hours of time depending on how slow we play, and less than 30 minutes of watching the how to play videos online, like this onehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toGTh6niLqEi could try teaching but i suck at teaches and TI is a big game
>>2361101The room is now open>/vst/wilight /vm/perium>rage
>>2361101>>2361269Well nobody joined. I'll host again next week at the same time, maybe that'll be enough notice for people to prepare.
>>2361101>>2361269>>2361408If I knew you gonna host those hours ahead of time, I would be there. If next week will be same hour, I will be there.
>>2361408Oh, and one more thing - which of the three mods for 4e you are using in TTS? To save on download time and such
>>2361418Yes, same hours next week>>2361419I'll be using this onehttps://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3597488210&searchtext=twilight+imperium+4as the fancy table with all the scripting at the top of the search results broke due to new updates. But honestly download time is the least concern when it comes to playing on TTS, unless you're on modem speeds or something
>>2361599>But honestly download time is the least concernI'm on 256 kb/s net I'm stealing from the library in the next building. For 5G, I've only got 20 GB left till April and I use that for work.So it's kinda o big deal to come prepared - I can play reliably, but randomly downloading few GB of data is impossible.
>>2361599Also: that TTS update was ass. It didn't help with anything at all, while disrupted majority of mods
>>2361408Okay, i'll go buy TTS and join!If that makes us three, i'll ask around, then i might get one or more to come along.
>>2354851You're a fucking idiot. There are differences between the factions, and there is a combat system.
>>2362074Ask on here as well: >>>/vm/2241289
Server for TI4 on Tabletop Simulator is now open, starting in ~20 minutes>/vst/wilight /vm/perium>rage
>>23652343/6 in, better turnout than last time so it's already a success
>>2365234We have finished the map building precess, now starting the game proper
>>2365254Round 1 done, with the Vul Rath Cabal expanding aggressively to hoard raw materials, and the Yin Brotherhood controlling the industry, but nobody scored any public objectives.
>>2365298my game crashed as we were finishing up Round 2 Status phase, reopening >>2365234
>>2365358After a lot of sneaky action card cuckery, round 3 begins and there will be combat this time
>>2365358it happened again, and now i know for sure why its because of a music trackreopening >>2365234
>>2365383After taking Mecatol Rex, the Vul'Rath Cabal's Field Trip Five are slowly but surely reduced to a Tourist Three, all while lodging themselves deeper and deeper in Sol territory thanks to their dark energy taps. This does not bode well for the galaxy.
>>2365395These are the only two wormholes on the whole map. Someone get the canned laugh tracks, this deserves a whole case.
>>2365409After a thrilling agenda phase, the galaxy is once again poised for war. Will Vulrath and Yin withstand Sols' grand fleet? Who will spam enough fighters to survive? Will any more objectives be scored? Join us next week, same time, on Twilight Imperium Z!
>>2365419Objectives and scores at the end of round 3/start of round 4Teacher/most experienced player is playing Vul Rath (red token), Yin is the grey token, and Sol is the blue token
>>2365424Sol here, really loved the game and my current position. Took the time to read up on the manual, rules and techs. >>236523424hr reminder for any /vst/'ers wanting to join. We'll start a fresh game if more show up.
>>2365234Open once again>/vst/wilight /vm/perium>rage
>>2368940i didnt post reports of the previous round because i was busy being bombarded irl sorryIn a valiant show of defence, the Federation of Sol fleet defends Mecatol Rex, and uses the Imperial Strategy to score Found the Golden Age spending 16 resources and winning the game! GGs to all involved and if there's more interest we can host again same time next week but this time with YOU as one of the players! Reply to this post if interested in more TTS TI4 to practice before the Digital Edition releases
>>2369069Final map situation. Don't ask what happened to VulRath planets.
>>2369071Oh yeah and that little fleet below the map is what the Vulrath tried to send in to capture Mecatol Rex, plus a mech and an infantry. It would've never worked, but i had to try.
