Currently on a personal quest to solo 58V with bloody berserker albus. I get pretty close but there is this small period of hp between FR kicking in and not being topped off that lends him to randomly getting a fat 3k damage crit. Is there any gear I can slap on him to reduce crit damage? Pic rel is my build. Unfortunately his defense slots are in high demand so I can't slot in something like metallic muscle armor.

Also I can't imagine Kylie going along with any mission to kill Ryo, or Bianca going along with any mission to kill Yuri, and both Tyra and Misty work(ed) for the same troubleshooter company so that would be pretty awkward. Then there's the possibility that Ari and Alisa are related.

>>2365531
Don't think so, it just seems to be an edit of one of the CGs where Albus is briefing the team. Some people seem to think the story of Banished Children is going to put their group against Albus's company but there's not really anything to indicate that's the case.

I think Dandylion should have made quests things you couldn't miss, but that you can skip, so you don't end up replaying the same mission twice or thrice because you missed out on a quest marker.
>>
>>2366010
Those are a lot of spiderwebs.
>>
>>2366016
Yeah, that's pretty annoying. On my first playthrough I missed out on quests completely until I had finished the base game, where I then speedran all of them with my level 45 team. There's some interesting dialogue between party members that join later and the quest givers if you do hold off on doing the quests, or when doing the special quest missions like with Giselle and the yashas and negooris.
On replays it's less frustrating since you'll have an idea of which quests are coming up so you know which missions to hold off on. I think Dandylion might just do away with quests altogether in the sequel though since there's hardly any in DLC1 and none in DLC2.
>>
>>2366047
That's a good idea. Maybe you can keep the spirit of quests alive by having non story missions have a little briefing and a set award.

I'm kind of mixed on the quests. The rewards are generally useful and they give a ton of characterization to the town NPCs, but some of them send you to really shitty blue maps and few things suck more than finishing an hour and a half of Starlight Junction only to find out it has 3 quests and not 2 so you have to do it again.
I feel like that's an implementation issue that can be solved without scrapping the whole system, though.

Finally an upgrade for Cyrus sneakers. I hate how low level base types have such overpowered non-armour/HP stats. +15 base speed is so hard to beat.
Poacher sneakers with their insane accuracy also bother me, but at least it's reasonable to offset that with masteries, rings or weapons.
>>
>>2366779
Dragon Tattoo Sneakers are the best sneakers in the game. I throw that shit on misty/albus and that -5 AT is way more significant than you would think.
>>
>>2366791
Yeah I love them. There are a few items like that where Dandylion really wanted to make you upgrade from whatever you were using before. Sanson's gun is another one. Really hard to replace that, even with Crimson Crow tier items.
>>
>Ray with flash nades
>witch anne with 100% blind chance
>black mage Sion
I had this whole rape squad setup for mungo king only for Sion to kill him back to back by using his SP AoE attack from around a corner. I knew BM was the raw damage class but I did not expect for him to 1 shot mungo king through max difficulty+all modifiers twice and most of the multihits were through FR too.
>>
>>2366823
I remember casually one-shotting Mungo King with a sniper Giselle build that I mostly used to chain kill fodder enemies after I switched up a bunch of my other characters' builds to better counter Mungo King (and they still got one shot by him).
Some people (understandably) think Mungo King is bullshit with his raw stats and free turn fuckery but it's neat having a high-health enemy to actually show the damage difference between characters/classes/builds when every other enemy at that point in the game either dies in 1-2 hits or has either Impulse Fields or Damage Absorbing which caps how much damage a single hit can do to them. Without Mungo King there would be no practical point for damage maximalism in builds since most characters can easily get enough damage to nuke everything else, especially if they have upgraded high-level weapons.
>>
>>2366823
I love black mage like you wouldn't believe. I don't care if battle mage is better, I just love BIG numbers and wasting 90% of my damage on overkilling.
>>
>>2366843
I just wish he didn't have the free turn shit. It makes killing him heavily depend on where his spergy AI wants to go.

>>
Really hope they either tune down crit damage in the sequel or give the player more defensive options to counter it. You can stack 250% crit damage reduction and still get 1 shot if you aren't HP stacking into the 5k+ range.
>>
>>2367374
250% reduction is pretty powerful. It's pretty much just MAs, Black Mages and Wind users that can one-shot you at that point.
I do think crit damage is too high in general, though. The game would be in a much better place if everyone had half the crit damage they currently do.

I didn't screenshot it because I was NOT expecting it, but this Red Sand Sniper just got a natural miss with Punishing Shot against Giselle.
She only has 3.25% dodge chance, but she's got High Ground Sniping + Shadow in the Dark + Blind Spot. Even though I'm pretty sure High Ground Sniping wasn't in effect because she's not elevated, I'm amazed that's all it took to somehow avoid a shot that would otherwise require 300%+ evasion to dodge.

I did several rounds of math which were all wrong about the incoming accuracy that led to that dodge
The less thorough gist is that the sniper who took the shot had about 206% accuracy
Blind Spot + Sniper in Shadow knocked 56% off of that, the distance penalty lopped off another 13% (26% normally, but those guys have Gunbarrel Reinforcement) to bring it down to 137%
Which means Giselle would have had to have been considered to be in full cover for that shot to miss, which is 40% + 10% from Conceal for an 87% hit chance.
If she was bleeding, or the sniper had a Concentration potion active, that dodge would have gone back to being impossible.
High Ground Sniping + Elevated Position would make it more reasonable, but still pretty coinflippy.

Anons dont notice this but mungo AI fucks over melee units that don't have berserker or AT immunity buffs hard. If a single thrower mungo tosses an ice nade melee mungos will never approach for whatever reason. This fucks over irene giga hard because she has no AT stall prevention and all of her martial arts masteries which reduce her AT off fighting in melee range never trigger for the 240+ AT that ice mist hangs around.

>If a single thrower mungo tosses an ice nade melee mungos will never approach for whatever reason
It's because the enemy AI doesn't like to walk on tiles with negative effects, so when they cover you in ice fog the melee AI avoids it and doesn't attack.

I just realised how broken the level 60 purple bracelets are. Magic Armor and Iron Wall are Concentration states, so it's +20% damage reduction for Sion in addition to 1000+ HP
Other easy methods for triggering it:
>Magic Acceleration
>Shout of Concentration
>Shrunken Scale (especially with the Misty shadowtank memebuild)
It should also work while Weakness Exposed as well, since it says "concentration state" and not "concentration buff".
>>
>>2367605
NTA but farming the serpents and Pascal from joint drills is a pain because you also have to fight the super destrons which don't really drop anything useful after 100% information and can just take a long time to kill.
Farming Mash and Ortega is really easy though with that one Misty solo mission. Just make sure to equip wave kick to screw over Mash and use the movement indicator to find out which tile Ortega is hiding on. None of Gaia's gear really appeals to me so I don't care about farming him.

>>2368506

BASED RETARD
There is no time waste involved. Every time you hit an enemy to low HP is a possible taming opportunity. If you want a specific enemy then you just blast it with Albus' wind gust or Leton kick and go for it. Starlight Prison is an unnecessary cheese.
I've tamed literally hundreds of beasts across my playthroughs. People overestimate how hard it is because they don't understand it.

The system is shit and exists to waste your time. When people bitch about the game being too grindy the taming system is the biggest contributor to it. Its not fun spending time tinkering together a team to tame only to waste 50 minutes isolating an enemy, lowering its hp, initiating the tame, and then an AI enemy runs over and tries to smack Giselle triggering Ray to cover with a can kick from across the map killing your taming target.

You guys are mixing up frustration at a time wasting system as being a skill issue. But taming exists to make a sub class of a single party member function properly. Put that in perspective, out of the 12 playable characters totaling 24 classes as possible ways to play only one has this insanely time consuming and annoying gameplay system attached to make it work. And that's before leveling it, the autism with the four tiers of individual masteries, tame only masteries being attached to random garbage animals, etc.
>>

You've been filtered so hard that none of what you're writing is correct

>waste 50 minutes isolating an enemy, lowering its hp, initiating the tame, and then an AI enemy runs over and tries to smack Giselle triggering Ray to cover with a can kick from across the map killing your taming target
That's literally a skill issue. Shit like this is trivial to avoid if you have even the most basic situational awareness.

>You guys are mixing up frustration at a time wasting system as being a skill issue.
You are coping with being bad at the game by blaming the game instead of learning how to be better.

By your own admission you need 50 minutes just to catch one animal, and even then you apparently still fail enough for you to sperg out about it. Choosing to autistically spend 80 hours being shit doesn't somehow make you not shit.
>>
>>2369514
It's skill issue to tame that many monsters and still have no idea how to actually do it, like the people who spend 2 hours to do 58v with an almost complete party wipe only to claim they "didn't get filtered" by Mungos.

>this gameplay system is annoying
>skill issue! skill issue!
Let me ask you: what does taming existing in its current state add to the game? As it is currently that whole aspect of the game can be easily ignored, so why is it so annoying?

And its not like its just the act of taming the animal is the most annoying part of tames. You also have species specific masteries hidden behind raising them, so even if you grab just one named animal in a playthrough you also have to tame several shitter animals and level them for their growth masteries. Then you have another layer of bullshit in the form of the dozen of so individual masteries that tweak their board slots and the first two tiers that can never be changed until you get 60V's gene editor.

It all feels so arbitrary, and I suspect Dandy will heavily rework the whole taming system in the sequel because as is its like a KRPG system that was lifted and shoved in. Because it being such a timesink makes sense in a KRPG where your character's class is all about tames so you can just focus on that.

>Somehow I got Giselle one-shot
yeah that tends to happen. Giselle being easy to kill once anyone closes the distance is what keeps her (relatively) balanced compared to the rest of the party. Once you learn to use her range effectively and build around minimizing some of her other weaknesses (like speed/AT and vigor) then she becomes arguably the most valuable member of the team, only getting screwed over by enemies that require multiple hits to kill or have good range or mobility (of which there are plenty of in the end game, unfortunately). If you can get cover bonds on her with some other ranged characters (Heixing and Ray are popular choices for this), that will help you avoid getting punished for positioning her badly or when you just get unlucky.

>>2369462
>>2369467
I like taming because it shakes things up from the usual "kill everything on the map as fast as possible". It makes the game suddenly feel a lot more tactical when builds are usually more important than tactics. The act of taming itself isn't that bad once you build and play around it. Starlight shield and Giselle's starting gear item lets her take a couple of hits so taming doesn't get canceled.
What is cancer is the grinding you have to do after taming to level up a beast, especially to unlock taming masteries. I wish class exp carried over between beast evolutions at the very least.
Training masteries are generally better than instinct/genetic masteries and can be changed so there's no reason not to just choose those in regards to evolution masteries.

I just checked and those modules (Highly Efficient Refrigerator/Flamethrower) can actually be gotten from the drones on 60S so you don't even need to farm the bicrons. So correction: every module (along with the best drone equipment) can be gotten from 60S meaning you only need to farm one stage for all of them.

I just checked and couldn't find any that also didn't appear on at least either the camouflage drone or violett destron, though I also remember farming them before starting DLC2. I also farmed 39V for all the modules that can be found there before starting the DLCs which is waste of time looking back, now knowing that everything drops from 60S.

Also I just found this out when looking at all the destrons' stuff, the leap and slash attack they all have is unavoidable and has some pretty gnarly scaling. That explains all the times that attack killed my units.
>>

The unavoidable is so Dandy can troll the player with that No. 1 Troubleshooter cheevo by having the destron run across the map to randomly 1 shot giselle.

Keep moving those goalposts, scrublord. I hope some day you'll mature enough to be able to simply admit you suck at something without shattering your fragile ego. It's okay though, you don't need to min-max everything if it causes you this much butthurt. You can just tame a random Tima right off the bat and be set for most of the game without needing to ever git gud.
>b-but it's grindy!
It really isn't, unless you're terminally retarded. The only real grind is for endgame minmaxing, and everything about engame minmaxing is grindy. That's not a taming things, that's just how the endgame works. Mastry farming, equipment farming, crafting, drone building, taming, etc. are all things where you can get most of the benefit without any real effort, just by playing the game, but if you really want to min-max the shit out of everything you need to grind. It's just how the game is set up.

If you're too stupid to do it properly, just ignore it. The fact that even someone like you can still finish the game without interacting with any of that is a feature, not a bug.

Has anyone ever made a good build that makes use of the Call of <element> abilities?
The more I think about it, the less good they seem. On top of costing a lot of vigor, you generally don't want to convert elemental abilities to physical because elemental damage is less resisted and gets a lot of damage multipliers from masteries. Going in the other direction is probably a bit better but you'll lose out on any physical type specific damage bonuses and base physical abilities typically have little to no ESP scaling which doesn't help ESP-focused builds.

I was testing Call of Fire on MA Irene to see if the blunt/physical specific masteries were worth using with it, along with being able to benefit from the armorbreak from Rend, but didn't notice much benefit over any other typical MA Irene build. She already has an ability that can ignore block so she doesn't benefit much from the Fight King set. I guess converting the attacks to physical helps against getting hit with an overwatch silencing shot before she can land her attack, but most people are probably using DPS and/or lightning reflexes on her anyways.

Leton can probably make better use of Call of Ice; he has a more equal split of physical/ESP abilities with good reason to convert both, using the ability is great for superstar stacks since it uses 0 AP, and ice abilities converted to physical don't consume antifreeze (though that is hardly an issue). His extra ability slot means that it's also easier to fit it into a board.

I haven't gotten around to it yet but Misty and Albus might be able to make good use of physical-to-ESP conversion since they can get a lot of both attack and ESP stats from their weapons, Misty also gets free always hit from Tsunami with a conversion and Call of Water actually belongs to more than a single set unlike the other call abilities. Maybe there's a reason for Sion to convert his basic attack but his other abilities are almost always better used instead.

I've used Call of Water on Misty quite a bit. It does wonders for her melee damage and lets her apply guaranteed bleed without crits. In the postgame she can also use Tsunami with it to fix her accuracy.
>I guess converting the attacks to physical helps against getting hit with an overwatch silencing shot before she can land her attack, but most people are probably using DPS and/or lightning reflexes on her anyways.
It helps a bit against Red Sand Rangers who can't miss their Overwatch, but even though I've ran Call of Fire on her myself I've probably only switched to physical for that purpose twice ever.
Another really gimmicky use I've done with them before is Call of Wind on Albus with the mastery that reduces your AT by 2 compounding every time you use a wind attack outside your turn. That way he recovers significant AT on counterattacks in places where he's probably going to be stuck for a while, like in 47V's Yasha room. It's pretty gimmicky though, because you don't benefit from any slashing damage masteries while using it and Bladestorm can't trigger.
>>
>>2369891
IIRC there used to be a meme Call of Earth Anne build that took advantage of some of the Earth Masteries that only buff the user's physical attacks but I don't remember what those masteries are and I can't check right now.

I never moved the goalposts I just ran down the list of why a system I find annoying, and which a lot of people also find annoying, is annoying and frustrating for really no reason. In response to this you can only quadruple down on spamming git gud. I even posted my animal inventory to demonstrate I tamed plenty of animals. Taming is annoying because it has so many hoops to jump through, and it could easily be made less tedious than it currently is. Because with how it is the majority of players engage with it once or twice and then never bother with it again because of how annoying it is.

Hell that's what happened on my first playthrough of the game. I tamed ash and found the experience so annoying I just never touched it until well into DLC2 because I was bored with just using sniper.

I wonder if barbarian was supposed to be the pure T2 class of warrior similar to swordsman and great swordsman or thief and rogue, but Dandylion decided to make it warrior + marauder at some point in development because they realized Alisa could make use the slashing-focused marauder masteries, or if they were still planning to have Luna playable, it would give her barbarian as a second class from her base as a marauder.
None of the barbarian sets use any marauder masteries, and all but one enemy barbarian uses blunt weapons, but then again, so do all white knights despite that class having access to swordsman masteries - interestingly enough, some white knights do have swordsman masteries equipped that gives them literally no benefit, not even to activate a mastery set. Warrior + marauder does fit thematically with barbarian warrior, and warrior itself is a pretty damage-agnostic class, so I could be totally wrong about this though.

You're probably onto something because Alisa's NPC appearances are promoted from Swordsman, not Warrior, so they likely hadn't originally intended to give her Barbarian. Once they did, they probably threw in Marauder masteries to give her some more tools to play with.

I wish there were Magic Knight and Battlemage sets that used this mastery since they can get more value from it with the additional class mastery compared to Black Mage. The mastery is still extremely good on its own without a set though, one of the highest-value single masteries in the game. It's cool that Witch has a set for it, and it's actually super good on Bianca since her personal mastery counts as an additional mastery type, meaning she can get the bonuses for having seven different types compared to Sion's Black Mage maximum of five different mastery types. Blue Eyebrow having access to four different class masteries also gets max bonuses from it.

This could mean anything desu, that post was from nearly 4 months ago. There are games still in "alpha" that have more features than most other games, and there are fully released games that are a broken mess with little content; there's no consistent development progress terminology between game devs. Judging from the post it sounds like they've gotten plenty of masteries and characters finished for when they go into early access, and now they're probably working on levels or waiting for assets to be finished. I don't really like the balance talk though, Dandylion's approach to balance in Abandoned Children was fine and if there's not going to be multiplayer in Banished Children then balance should be even less of a concern.

Also we still haven't gotten SP types and classes revealed for all the characters yet. I'm betting Hannah is probably earth, Claudia is water and Gravis is ice. I hope Faye is a wind martial artist with either battle mage or superstar as a second class. I really want a wind superstar for the valley wind shenanigans, but if she has some way of getting more than 4 performance slots then a dancer-focused MA would be good enough. and Yuri is fire hopefully, a fire black mage has been one of my dream SP class combinations for a long time, and fire seems like a fitting element for a red mage.

Last tournament was on EU and this one probably will be too unless we have completely different players (unlikely). I don't really know why I implied we could change servers.
As the anon who initially asked if people want a second tourney, I'm just going to say we're doing it on EU unless a majority of possible participants have endgame companies on a different server and someone else would be willing to organize it there. Also I feel pretty bad for holding up last tournament because I wasn't ready, and everyone who participated in the last one (or intended to) now has PvP-ready teams, I don't see much reason in delaying again once (or if) we confirm participation and decide on rules and whatnot, unless we have multiple participants who need to level teams.

This time, rather than waiting for some time when we're all available then trying to knock out all the rounds in the course of a week, I think it would be better if we just spread the tournament out over the course of a couple of weeks/a month so there's no stress trying to get everyone's matches in and people can schedule their matches for when they have the time and can afford to fuck up their sleep schedule.
I'll wait a couple of days to make sure there's actually enough people who want to play, and if the previous organizer (Sneed'sFeed'n'Seed IIRC) doesn't want to take over, then I'll take entry submissions.

Right here.
My main issue right now is that I feel like it's a little too early to host another one. Save for maybe one person that missed the initial tourney, most of us will be running the same teams and strats we did 3 months ago, which doesn't seem very engaging. I wanted to give it at least half a year before attempting a new one.
Of course, if we get 6 or 8 people this time, it'd change the situation up quite a bit and it'd be worth it to host again. Otherwise I just don't see the point, hosting these too often kind of makes it lose the charm.
The initial tourney wasn't really contained into one week - it just happened to occur that way, since we could knock out most matches in a short period of time, after which people have told me personally that they'd be extremely busy to find time to play. If I could, I'd stretch it out longer, but I just didn't see the point.
Regardless, there seem be new anons that are willing to participate and are going to take a month or two building a PvP-ready save, which could provide enough time for this not to feel like a repeat of the initial one. In this case, just yell at me in the thread with your company name or in Troubleshooter DMs (Sneed'sFeed'nSeed) so I can count individual participants.
The host server will be EU once again.
>>

>My main issue right now is that I feel like it's a little too early to host another one
I was a bit reluctant to ask about the second tourney for that reason, wasn't sure if people were looking forwards to another one or not.
>Save for maybe one person that missed the initial tourney
That's me (MungoSeeMungoDo), just barely being unable to make it to the last one is maybe why I want a second one so soon lol
>most of us will be running the same teams and strats we did 3 months ago
It's probably worth asking those who participated previously and want to play again if they've changed their team up since then, or will in preparation for the next tournament. I could see people optimizing their teams a bit since then or coming up with ways to counter other people's teams.

If more people who took part in the last tourney feel like it's been too soon or they just haven't changed their PvP teams much then I wouldn't be opposed to putting this off for another month or two and letting more people make PvP-ready companies. I just ideally want another tournament or two before Dandy puts Banished Children into early access because then it'll be hard to get players with anons playing BC instead.

iirc Sneed's original schedule was 2 rounds per weekend? and then everyone just played their matches ASAP except for Tongs (me) ((fucking timezones)), which seemed to work ok. i didn't feel stressed for time, 2-3 weeks was plenty long enough to wake up at random times to play most of you twice (sorry Troublescooter), but knowing that only my matches were left at the end did put the social pressure on a bit - very minor issue
i reckon a 4 or 6 month gap is a good even spacing for people to try new shit or play new files so that'd be 25th april or june start

Is it really "terrible" when the whole original point of the status effect is to throw your character into an uncontrollable state of pure rage?
You're prone to act rash and discard tactics and strategy when you're "on a rampage".

Its bad even for the flavor. Albus will be surrounded by enemies on all sides and will just end his turn because an enemy he wants to target is no longer in range.

Originally, I had intended for the tournament to take place over the winter holidays when most people would be off work and have enough spare time to play. I wanted the matches to start on weekends simply because I had to work throughout the majority of winter holidays. That was a bit selfish, so I apologize.
But then, people just started playing their matches whenever they felt like it, and had essentially speedran the entire thing in 2-3 days, the remaining matches were all mostly leftovers with mismatched timezones. While I don't mind the lack of proper dates and set times, since I really don't want this to feel imposing or stressful for anybody - this is just something being done for the fun of it, after all; I still can't help but feel dissatisfied somewhat with the unorganized nature of it all. If the next one happens whenever, it'll definitely be stretched out as long as possible, so we can reach some sort of compromise on times between participants that are farthest apart. I'm also considering actually setting more solid dates and times on matches (once we actually reach aforementioned compromises on a player to player basis as paired matchups are established), so that we can maybe have a "proper" tournament feeling. But some anons will definitely not like the sense of "obligation" this might instill, so I'm not 100% sure on this.
I don't think any more rules in terms bans need to be imposed, the last tournament did not feel all that cancerous and I think the feedback I've received supports that. So the single rule remains - don't be a faggot, if something seems like it'd be ass to play against - don't run it. I believe that everyone here is conscious enough to self-moderate.
In a perfect world, we'd have 8 players, so that I could build real brackets... So I hope we get 3 new players (given all the previous participants remain)! So, once again, yell at the previous post, this post, your nearest Alisapost or at Sneed'sFeed'nSeed in DMs to check in.

>even if her rampage AI constantly wastes her SP moves.
There's a set that makes her able to spam SP moves in Overcharge without removing it. It's pretty much mandatory for Rampage Alisa, and a lot of fun. Perfect Shaving doesn't have a cooldown, so with One Shot One Kill and her cooldown reduction personal mastery she'll spam it repeatedly at every target in range.

Most of them seem outclassed but the 47v beasts do have some worthwhile abilities. The Ash Yasha Monarch has ToaNL which can be useful for setting up webs, Gold Wing (dorori) has that too which allows it to inflict burn then get the bonuses for attacking a burned-debuff enemy in a single turn. I wouldn't say either of those are really worth using though. Jim's tima is practically a straight upgrade to the 47v lightning tima.

The gold negoori has two offensive songs which benefit from the extra range and -1 AP masteries, and are also all multi-hit. It also has a 0 AP movement ability. It's probably the best tame in 47v

>calm and collected
I don't think there's any real link between personality and ESP, but most of the calm and collected people in AC are spirit users.
An earth black mage could be insanely tanky with investigate origin, I've seen Bianca tank a lot of shit with that set and a full wind board. I also hope he has at least one physical ability if he is the only earth user on the team to make use of rock fist, so we don't have to do call of earth fuckery to get any real value out of that one mastery which seems like it should be good on paper.
>>
>>2372328
As far as dororis go, Gold Wing is probably the best in the game. Fire SP masteries help compensate for dororis' inherent low attack power and durability, and unlike regular Lava Dororis Gold Wing has a burn aura to set itself up.

My headcanon is that Red Mage will be Elementalist + Warrior so it would make sense for him to have a hybrid moveset. Anne and Bianca are the only units in AC who are pure ESP so the odds are even further in his favour.

Hm, despite having rage instead of vigor, the ice mungos actually get the extra ESP power from mage, and they get a decent amount of value from it since rage's base value is 100 as opposed to vigor's 60.

It's kinda broken how mungos mitigate/ignore some of the major weaknesses beasts generally have. Because they have an ability that raises rage to maximum, they don't have to deal with rage build up which is an issue for many beasts. Mungos also being able to use weapons which can roll accuracy bonuses means don't suffer as much from low accuracy that most beasts struggle with. And then they have good base stats, broken class masteries, and benefit from evolution masteries on top of all that.

Mungos are a good display of Dandylion's balance philosophy, where overpowered things are fine as long as they're not introduced too abruptly.
>>
>>2372914
I'm peeved that ice mungos don't have the antifreeze item mastery that Leton also has so they can't use the set that heals when consuming antifreeze. It also means you have to use the antifreeze gear/potions on them or try to make-do with that set that reverses frozen blood when attacking a bleeding target. Antifreeze/frozen blood can pretty much be ignored on Leton anyways because he always starts out with at least 30 (which is a lot to begin with) and can easily stack a bunch more, so I guess Dandy wanted to make people actually engage with that mechanic when using ice mungos.

>>2372922
>not introduced too abruptly
Mungos are introduced pretty abruptly but against the player instead, everyone remembers how bullshit the first time they fight them is until they take time to actually read what mimicking evasion does.

I really wish GS Albus had masteries that gave him raw attack power to really make use of this weapon. Swordsman and Great Swordsman only really gives crit damage and slashing attack damage bonus but no raw attack stat, meanwhile MK can get a lot of attack power from curse stacks and Magical Swordmaster set. Swordsman has guaranteed crits and Great Swordsman has Castle Gate Breakthrough so GS doesn't really need block reduction, I suppose.
>>
>>2373360
also I really hate how spray cans have less crit damage compared to every other weapon. Most endgame weapons have +40% or +50% base crit damage bonus, but spray cans are stuck at +30%, even Colorful's spray can doesn't have better crit damage IIRC. Between spirit, scholar, and fighter masteries, Ray can actually get some pretty good enemy block reduction, so it sucks that she isn't able to make good use of that without having to squeeze crit damage modifiers from common masteries and other gear, especially considering that cans have lower base damage than most other weapons.
>>

>>2373360
Great Swordsman innately has a ton of block reduction too. 30% from their class mastery to adjacent enemies + 25% from Blade Phantom.
>>2373375
Ray's damage is balanced lower than other characters because of her innate AOE. Like Witch accuracy it's not an unsolvable problem, just means you need to compensate for it if you want her to hit really hard.
>>
>>2373360
2000 attack, which is a lot, gets you 20% block shred, which is nice but not as strong as the razorclaw blades pushing damage through block
all the Demon Slayer gear is disappointing like that
>>
>>2373427
I think they're good enough upgrades for a lot of characters, but some of them do suck
>level 60 bangles give a small amount of block shred (1% per 200 ESP), but level 55 bangles give Discipline every 5th ESP attack, which is a massive +300 boost to ESP
>also has to compete with Blue Eyebrow's cooldown bangle
>level 60 battle gloves have 1% block shred per 200 attack power, but level 55 battle gloves have speed on them which is a much more desirable stat
>level 60 daggers have 1% per 20 speed block shred, but they have 10 less speed than the crafted level 55 daggers, no ESP on them unlike Ortega's dagger, and no guaranteed bleeding like Black Mask's dagger
>level 60 machine pistols have less speed and less crit on them compared to the level 55 versions, and deal +15% damage to exposed enemies instead of +15% damage when in still stance (which is a sidegrade of conditions at best)
>Mono and Vivis have nothing special, they're all just straight upgrades
>level 60 crafted snipers sacrifice 10 speed for +1 night sight, which is a hard tradeoff to justify even as a sight=rangefag and most people probably have a pretty good legendary sniper rifle by now anyway. Gaia's sniper rifle is more or less a straight upgrade too, which a lot of people use in PVP
>level 60 sprays give +1 range, but they sacrifice 10 speed and accuracy compared to the level 55 versions
>level 60 swords are pretty much a straight upgrade over the level 55 crafted ones numerically but shred block instead of giving +25% slashing damage, and Black Eyepatch's sword is godlike
>level 60 greatswords have no speed penalty on them and have generic block shred based on max HP, but the level 55 sword has -50% block damage reduction (making them absolutely rape against blocking enemies) and Ben's sword has 30% conditional block shred.
I personally like the level 60 greatswords because of the lack of speed penalty, but I think I'm the only person I've seen using them.
>>
>>2373439
Demonslayer bangles aren't that bad on certain characters; Sion can get a ton of ESP from flash stacks and so can martial artists with body and mind training set with a full ESP board. Elementalist also has magic variety and the magic training set which can get a enough additional ESP to add a few more block reduction. Same thing with battle gloves and flash/martial artist when it comes to attack power.

Extra speed is nice but there's diminishing returns for stacking it unless there's some additional benefit (like dodge chance with thief masteries) and a lot of other high-level gear has speed anyways. Cast delay or AT reduction can help offset low speed as well. I don't usually prioritize speed on my items unless my build really needs it.
>>
>>2373439
>level 60 crafted snipers sacrifice 10 speed for +1 night sight, which is a hard tradeoff to justify even as a sight=rangefag and most people probably have a pretty good legendary sniper rifle by now anyway. Gaia's sniper rifle is more or less a straight upgrade too, which a lot of people use in PVP
I personally have a hard time deciding which late game sniper to use. The level 50 sniper is an obvious choice for any build focusing on responsive attack spam but has little benefit outside that.
I like Skull Eater's for the crazy amount of block reduction but it lacks damage compared to the higher level ones and the block reduction only applies to humans. It's top tier for DLC1 but falls off after that. Even though Gaia's rifle has block reduction like Skull Eater's, it's a lot more situational and doesn't give as much, but the rifle itself has the highest base damage of all. Snipers are going to be in still stance a lot more often than the enemy is going to be exposed so the bonus from 55 is a lot better than the one from 60. The bonus from Athaad's rifle kinda sucks and everything else on it is outclassed by higher level rifles.
So the options are Skull Eater's, the level 55, and Gaia's for non-responsive attack builds, and they all seem roughly equally good. I might be putting too much importance on block reduction since Giselle has several mastery options for that, but the white clowns have deeply traumatized me.

Pink is a close enough color to crimson I suppose, and the emblem on her jacket has wings. I think she was partially inspired by East Asian myths of the golden/three-legged crow which is actually usually depicted as being red instead of gold. China, Japan, and Korea all have some sort of three-legged crow figure in their mythology that represents power and guidance.
But she adopted the Crimson Crow moniker after her knife (which is actually a crimson color but can't really be seen because she keeps her weapon sheathed most of the time), and since the Crimson Crow alter-ego was used to hide her real ego, it would be stupid if she went around publicly displaying that she was the Crimson Crow. Misty was actually a lot smarter than every other Valhalla criminal for doing that, but I guess criminals in Valhalla are used to being able to flaunt their criminal association and not get arrested for it.

i wouldn't want this to be true since it feels contrived when a story is too interconnected, but since lily has the same hair color and eye color as eunomia, i wonder if they're related, like lily is her biological aunt or something, could explain irene's esp and how she ended up getting involved in albus's company and whatnot

>>2375130
at the ending of the base game or DLC1 (i can't remember) there's a scene with three folders and Lily, one is Abandoned Children, the other is Banished Children, and the third one is just "Spoonism", which I hope they don't name the third game that because it's kinda dumb

>>2375132
iirc heixing was supposed to be like a big bad villain so it's interesting that he ended up being quite the opposite in the final game

Him and Leton are still kind of villains by association. Leton because he's a secret glownigger who's been helping Carter do terrorisms, and Heixing is doing vague shit for the Fortress of Suffering which is definitely a shady operation at best. Plus we know he steals cars. And let's be honest, nobody who dresses like that is an upright citizen.
>>
>>2375135
From the blogposts I just gathered the alley was gonna be a big part to the story of (you)r company and you could either be friendly to them or be their enemy.
Although, I can't say the story would have been nearly as good with that foundation.
>>
>>2375139
>Heixing is doing vague shit for the Fortress of Suffering which is definitely a shady operation at best
it seemed like to me he was a positive influence in the fortress of suffering. he killed out the white spiders which were apparently undying cannibals or beasts that were eating people. and in that scene with leton in the alternative medicine guy, he said that the fortress of suffering doesn't make people undying anymore (even though he was made undying himself) which implies he put an end to it. it doesn't fit what we know about his character when he was with the alleys or albus's company to have been terrible person in the fortess of suffering. the kind of guy who was moved by carter's kindness (and later tried to stop carter from killing a bunch of people) and fixed anne's fox charm somehow also being a villain in the fortress of suffering doesn't make sense, i image that when he was in the fortress of suffering he tried his best to help other people like the alleys did when he was with them.

They do look pretty similar. Not just the hair and eye colour, but the facial structure is similar too.
I remember when I was first looking at the sprite sheets I thought present-day Eunomia looks way scarier than Lily even though in the plot she's just Irene's sister who she calls when she's worried.

Before Dandy added the file extractor to the modding tool I was trying really hard to see if Chris had a unit definition still in the game, but he doesn't. He's got animation info, though - He's got animations for "Smash", "GroundCrash" and "MachPunch".
I looked in the abilities file to see if they had data, but GroundCrash is undefined and MachPunch is a placeholder attack with nothing defined except that it's a melee Piercing attack.
I'm pretty sure he'd be a Battlemage if he had actual unit data.
>>

Earth SP Martial Artist/Battlemage would be my guess, his artwork makes it pretty clear he fights with his fists.

In the released game I'm curious as to how he ended up going from being a Troubleshooter in the old Silverlining with Don and Albus's parents to being the second in command of the Valhalla Vendetta branch. It probably involved The Incident and some shady behind-the-scene dealings, but he still seems to be on good terms with Don so I don't think he sold them out or betrayed them.

He also mentions that he'll only stay with Silverlining until he reaches that "next level", and the cutscene with him and Don at the train station when he's leaving is set 1 month before Silverlining disbands, so he probably got recruited into Vendetta then.

Yesterday I found out that Engineer's Consecutive Attack ability works with grenades. Need to experiment with it some more to find out whether it's got any practical uses or weird interactions. My first thought is throwing double Wind Pressure grenades to trigger Chain Tactics a bazillion times when the first grenade pushes enemies against the walls and the second grenade triggers Collision.
>>2375813
Alchemist has High Purity Healing Potion that's easy to fit and has a similar effect
>>
>>2375879
Does it consume 1 or 2 grenades for the consecutive attack? Ice grenades would work well with it too to delay the hell out of enemies' turns. Grenades are nice on Kylie since end-game builds are probably going to be using Pascal's bracelet on her so she gets +1, then she gets that extra gear slot so she can use a gear item as well as grenade.
>>
>>2375888
Consumes 2 grenades. I was thinking of trying some janky The Expert build with it. That gives a lot more uses and brings the throw itself down to 1 AP.

>>
>>2376344
I wish I knew what Dandy had in mind for that gear. It seems so blatantly underpowered, but it's probably that way because they have some insane cheese in mind that uses it.
>>
>>2376401
It's probably not bad on battlemages since they can stack a bunch of positive auras on their own. A few other classes have auras worth using like shaman/white mage and hacker, then there's the one or two common masteries that also give them. On an auramaxxed team it might give everyone a bunch of extra turns as they all benefit from each other's auras, but like most other gear items in the game it's hard to find a use for it over the raw survivability that draki scales give or the gears that just give a bunch of stats.
>>
>>2376421
It might be pretty strong on a Barbarian with Optimism and Twilight of Pain. You'd be able to get dangerously close to 0AT turns.

SRPG, TRPG veterans. Are there any other game like Troubleshooter where you have big freedom in character building? I am casual enjoyer of this genre so i haven't played many but Troubleshooter might have spoiled me. I played things like Dark Deity 1-2, Symphony of War, Fae Tactics. They were alright but i never felt the same build freedom.
>>
>>2376660
Closest game I've played to Troubleshooter was Etrian Odyssey. Played the first game, but from my talks with veterans. They told me EO3 has tons of character builds. Also had a friend that said TS reminded him of warhammer 40k mechanicus.

>Optimism
I don't think it that would help much since there are only a few concentration mental buffs (patience, strengthen, discipline, and concentration). Most concentration states are already auras while most mental buffs are rage or excitement states.
Being able to go under the 36 AT limit at the end of a turn, even just by a bit, can still be pretty strong though, especially if it gives you an extra turn before an enemy's.
There are a lot more auras than I previously thought, looking through the help menu. Most team members can easily stack two or three at a time, and with supportive characters around they can get several more. If you can get all those auras on a fast character then they'll have ~30 AT turns, combined with a bit of suppression that'll let them take 2-3 turns for every 1 turn an enemy gets.
>>
>>2376667
I heard a lot of people praise Etrian Odyssey. Never really tried dungeon crawlers. But now i am curious. I played Mechanicus but it's more along the line of the XCOM side of Troubleshooter not the JRPG side.
>>
>>2376667
>>2376759
Mechanicus is fun and atmospheric but way more simplistic, short and shallow than TS. It also suffer for terrible design so the only difficulty is at the early game, once you get some gear and levels it's over for the necrons. And I mean "boss kill in turn one before it can even move" over.

Troubleshooter's build freedom is probably its most unique feature imo. The only similar amount of build customisation I know is Path of Exile, except PoE has been terrible for many years now and it suffers from fake freedom, where you "can" build however you want, but unless you build in a certain way you're going to brick your character, and if you do manage to find something off-meta the devs will panic nerf it in the next patch.
I would have said Symphony of War except you've already played it.
Etrian Odyssey games - especially later ones - were a good mention. Their classes are set up a lot like Diablo 2's classes, where they have a skill tree of active and passive skills and levelling up gives you 1 skill point to either unlock new skills or put into an older skill to make it more powerful. Except unlike Diablo 2 you're controlling a party of 5, and EO 3/4/Nexus have have subclassing where you can combine two classes on the same character.

It doesn't have much in the character customization department, but I simply have to recommend Reverse Collapse. The context of that message is related to quests. Some guy asked Dandy to make quests unmissable, and that was the final responds.

>>
>>2376936
They'll probably change how quests work entirely for Banished Children because there won't be a Shooter Street equivalent.
>>
>>2376936
>>2376932
I wasn't a fan of the way the game did sidequests so any improvement is welcome, but where any of them actually missable? I thought it didn't really matter when you did the siedquests, so as long as you stopped by Shooter Street once in a while you'd eventually get all of them.

Like, I don't think getting some sort of notificiation that a new quest was available would've made any significant difference. My issue with the sidequests is more the way they're structured (i.e. a lot of them are just "go back to this old map and grind for a bit") and that most of them gave shit rewards, not that I ever felt at risk of missing out on content.
>>
>>2376950
In the grand scheme, no they're not missable. But you can absolutely miss them at the point where they're intended to be taken, which is what leads to both of your complaints: Repeating maps (most quests are available prior to the map) and receiving shit rewards (which are very powerful items IF you complete the quest at the correct time)

anyways it just occurred to me that draki past their t1 evolution don't "benefit" from hibernation since it's a mental debuff. I haven't tested it myself but that should mean, when using the hibernation mastery, they'll just revive at 1 hp and will be able to act on their next turn but at the downside of not getting any healing. I wonder if second wind will activate then, or if it only counts from the damage before they revive. I'd also like to know if it's possible for the golden eggshell to get the golden scale genetics mastery or if that is only available to later golden draki evolutions. it sucks that the pathfinder instinct mastery doesn't work with sleep builds, not even with somnambulism because being in sleep state gives -20 sight

Beasts have access to masteries that buff themselves and teammates while they're asleep, and they can also attack while asleep with a certain instinct mastery. The somnambulism set allows beasts to follow Giselle while they're asleep. Draki eggshells specifically have an ability than puts them to sleep (it's the only ability they have, actually) so they can easily stack buffs without having to wait for RNG or death to put them to sleep

>>2379092
Seems like Dandylion realized that introducing beast taming that far into the game was a mistake since Ari, who is the first character in Banished Children, has Hunter as one of her advanced classes.
Giselle's whole introduction is out of the blue, I guess they couldn't find a good time to bring her onto the team story-wise especially with Irene/Anne/Heixing/Ray all being introduced early on with their own little arcs about joining Albus's company, and her joining has little to do with beasts themselves and more of the fact that the company needs someone to counter-snipe the White Tiger snipers.

>>2379101
Magic and ESP are pretty clearly linked and nature stuff seems to fall under Earth SP anyways, the Earth SP mastery itself is literally called "Nature Balance", Anne has an affinity for animals, and several Earth abilities or beasts are plant related (constricting root, Flower Garden). Elementalist masteries explicitly require an ESP type and Shaman/Witch masteries require Earth/Water/Wind SP specifically. This could be changed in BC though.

>>2379714
I had a lot of fun designing that Anne. Also a lot of suffering. It's so hard to cover all her bases, but I think that build managed it. The idea was to have Irene and Sion covering each other, one has Moving Castle and the other doesn't, with Anne backing them up. I think Irene is the one with it, because I designed Sion to hit around 100% block without it. There's a few interwoven dependencies between some of the members like that, I can't remember all of them. Normally wouldn't throw Misty in there but I was probably just fucking around with her. I ended up liking Great Swordsman Albus more in that team as well.

>>
>>2379721
That Misty is alright. She has one gimmick but she does it well. In the context of my team she doesn't have somebody to set up clouds for her, but I think you could get more value out of it pairing her with Ray, Hunter Giselle or Poison Bullet Heixing. Her main issue is she can't easily set up her own smoke, especially because you'd like to throw it right at the start for the buffs, so if you have someone else to do it then she can get her snipe and potentially survive the next turn to cycle another Water Release. All-in-all it's a really precocious and finnicky build though. I do think it has some advantages over Knife Throw anyway since it has better range and you can even get some AOE snipes which are really nasty.
>>
>>2379728
If you replaced the Charm of Silvia you could give her a smoke generator

Just how many little things are hidden in this game? I was doing a replay and I got Heixing to the top of the Iron Forest 27V case where the Big Rainbow Dorori boss spawns, and I used Sprint to warp him up there to finish off the smaller mobs, and he has a special little cutscene that plays when he gets there. I have put hundreds of hours into this game and I've never seen it before, since it only apparently ever triggers if you have Heixing all the way up there AND use Sprint to get to the absolute top, which is rarely going to happen to say the least. Makes me wonder what other things in this game are still there I haven't seen.

When checking the korean portion of the steam forums, I found another post saying we should get BC in early access some time this year.
I'm guessing what was translated as "volume" refers to content, which goes along with the speculation that they probably have (most of) the core mechanics developed and are just waiting on assets and making the levels, items, enemies, and whatnot.

>>2379929
There's a lot. In the first mission when Heixing is officially a part of the company, if you bring him near Kylie, there's a bit of "dialogue" that's really just an awkward silence because of the history between the two. In the mission with Carter and Leton against the spoonists, smugglers, and black tigers, if you keep playing as them by the time Albus's company arrives, there's dialogue between them and Ray if they get close to each other. There's also supposed to be dialogue between Carter and Sharky if you bring the two near each other in Jigsaw, but I never had that happen. All team members have unique dialogue between them and certain bosses like Sharky in the bunker mission or Pascal, and also for some things like being the first to see the draki eggs.

Is Sion supposed to be the only unit that matters once you hit mid game? I admittedly got Catharsis super early by grinding out Ramjist Plaza case records, among other masteries, and now that I have One Shot One Kill he legit full clears every encounter, I just cast Thunderbolt over and over and everything dies. Also he gets Overcharge in like 3-4 kills, too. He just seems so much stronger than everyone else it's unreal, and the Black Mage masteries all complement each other very well. It's actually making the game boring with how easy it is for Sion to just wipe everything, the only thing that stops it is the occasional Impulse Fields units and I just save his overcharge for big groups of those and it's no issue. I mean, the largest problem I have with it is everyone else seems ridiculously weak compared to Sion, I know people say the DLC makes the game harder but is Sion really going to be 10x what everyone else is until that point?

Like no one else is even close, even if I put the Catharsis/One Shot One kill combo on other people they struggle to do the same thing he does, particularly due to Vigor issues, which Sion simply does not have due to Soul Stealer. And also Furious Lightning Gale means he never runs into AT issues, either. It just seems dumb that Sion is just THAT much better than every other character, at least at this point in the game. Maybe it gets better later and the other characters builds come online more once you can give them damage AND vigor AND ways to deal with getting AT locked, all of which Sion easily handles at just level 30.
>>
>>2380397
The trade off is black mage Sion is made of fragile glass and he isn't very fast. I remember he kinda gets left behind a lot while the faster melee units go rampage. When you start running into the robot enemies he will start getting spontaneously 1 shot on accident and thats when Battle Mage starts looking more appealing.

Where are you at btw? If you haven't hit the robots and are mainly fighting the white tigers that's where he is at his best.
>>
>>2380397
Black Mage is a fair and balanced class, but you're pretty much at his peak unrestrained power level right now. The map design starts to get hard in the mid 30s even for him, and then the DLCs set out to rape ESP users.
>>
>>2380402
I'm just after when Giselle joined, I did that mission with Kylie repairing the electric webs when all those animals come out in swarms. Sion legit killed the wave on his side alone in a single turn, I killed like 30-40 units no problem. Meanwhile Irene and Albus can't kill half that even WITH the Catharsis/One Shot One Kill combo before either running out of Vigor or simply not being able to one shot. That's anther thing, occasionally Irene/Albus will get dodged or blocked, but for whatever reason Thunderbolt never misses. I've only seen it blocked a few times and even then it doesn't matter since it generally does enough damage through the block that they die anyway. The only guy I haven't been able to one shot with Sion, not counting Impulse Fields, is Twinkle Jack on that one map with all the White Tiger bosses. And still Sion does WAY more damage to him than anyone else does.
>>
>>2380409
Catharsis/OSOK is a trap. Don't slap it one everyone when you could instead get more synergistic masteries that reduce AT better. Also invest in speed on melee units whenever possible.
>That's anther thing, occasionally Irene/Albus will get dodged or blocked, but for whatever reason Thunderbolt never misses. I've only seen it blocked a few times and even then it doesn't matter since it generally does enough damage through the block that they die anyway

Your Albus and Irene builds sound like they need some attention. Also remember that skills don't use vigor in overcharge, so if you're spamming One Shot One Kill, Bloodbath or other cheesy chain killing strategies, equip Roar of Victory and stay in overcharge as long as possible. The mastery named Overcharge that gives you +1 overcharge duration is also way, way more useful than it sounds.
If that style of play in general is starting to really bother you and you don't want to just unequip OSOK or Catharsis, you can always turn on Body-Mind Unity in the difficulty options. It won't prevent you from going on killing sprees, but it'll steadily nerf Sion's vigor and speed if he does too much too quickly.
>>
>>2380397
Elementalist, Black Mage, and Lightning masteries all give a lot of damage, and one of Sion's individual masteries gives him a lot of SP gain, combined with the extra SP gain lightning masteries give him means he gets a lot of damage and SP gain for overcharge. All that with the fact that he has arguably the single best overcharge ability in the game means he's incredibly good at nuking things. I wouldn't say he's the only unit that matters in the early/mid game, but he is a lot stronger than others in terms of AoE and raw damage, only Heixing comes close. He probably just seems a lot more overpowered than everyone else because you figured out some pretty good synergies on him. Sion does have a few critical weaknesses that will become apparent later in the game though, he gets shut down hard by silence status and will get outranged by a lot of enemies for example.
I would say the party members that carry me the most at the end of the game are Heixing, Giselle, and Alisa, and while Kylie doesn't always get a lot of kills, her support and utility is way too beneficial to pass up.

>Maybe it gets better later and the other characters builds come online more once you can give them damage AND vigor AND ways to deal with getting AT locked, all of which Sion easily handles at just level 30.
Irene will always be vulnerable to AT delay but Albus has multiple ways to deal with it, Wind Veil makes him immune to it and Weapon Blocking mastery can easily give him enough AT reduction on hit to just shrug it off, he can also get a ton of speed and cast delay reduction. Albus can also chainkill like a motherfucker with bleed builds and ESP builds are also strong on him, he can permanently delay enemies with Gentle Gust and Blood Wind set helps him take a lot of turns.
>>
>>2380411
How is it a trap? It's slaughtering everything, at least on Sion. I see what you are saying about Thunderbolt, I guess that's why Anne never misses with her main attack either.

>>2380419
My problem with Irene and Albus so far is I can only build them to be good at one thing, and they're terrible at other stuff. If I build Irene to be a tanky melee she's decent against other melee but gets annihilated if she gets shot at a bunch especially if it's AT delay shots. If I build her to be a fast killer she just doesn't have the health and sustain to stay alive if she's ever isolated and because she seems to be built ENTIRELY around being isolated due to how Lonely Hero works, that's also bad. I also dislike how she feels weak without Hero activated, the buff is too strong for what it is and it's so strong it seems insane and pointless to use anything but that one mastery. Also all of her personal masteries except for A Million Years Of Training are absolute garbage, and even that one is only kinda decent due to the set bonus.

Also I don't really think there are such things as "cheese" builds in games like this, tactics are tactics and if one build is strong as hell it should be used because that's the point of a strategy game, figuring out what works best and using it well. If One Hit One Kill and Catharsis are a combo that shouldn't exist then it's on the devs to adjust it, deliberately hamstringing myself and playing in a stupid fashion is not a fun thing for me in games like this. If I wanted to have the kind of experience where actually applying my intelligence renders the game an effortless joke, I'd just replay Unicorn Overlord and at least get to see the nice animations and cute girls again. At least you guys are saying it does get harder as I go on past this point.
>>
>>2380419
Also I do have all the difficulty options turned on, it doesn't really do much to stop Sion except after he kills everything he has to wait for a turn to go on his next spree. It does absolutely nothing to his vigor since every time he gets a kill it restores him to max vigor. I get the feeling the devs did not think this difficulty option through if it was supposed to stop chain killing through intensified Vigor loss since Soul Stealer makes it utterly irrelevant. I died like once to Exhaustion on the tiger boss map and that's it, the Overload thing may as well not exist, it should snap into play at half the kills, if that, if they wanted to make it a real detriment.

>>2380433
Yeah but the problem I have with Albus isn't AT delay, it's the fact he has such low health he gets one shot by all sorts of random stuff, so he doesn't get AT locked he just straight up dies. Not really an improvement. And yeah I'm running a heavy block build but it doesn't solve the health problem and also any ESP user that hits him instantly kills him. Oh well, I can see that as I get more training points once they finish leveling into the late game, I can maybe fix some of these problems, since right now everyone is still level 31. Hopefully the game gets past the "Sion kills everything phase" like you guys are saying, overall I really am enjoying the game and it's quite fun, just didn't like that one build and one unit was trivializing everything so completely.
>>
>>2380442
>How is it a trap? It's slaughtering everything, at least on Sion.
Its good on Sion but not good on other members.

Guys like Albus don't want to be 1 shotting enemies because his greatswordsman class wants to hit enemies with bleed. Ideally hitting them once to trigger bleed and then a second time to get a fuck ton of AT reduction. If you don't want to use GS and instead want to use Magic Knight then I would suggest combining berserker with masteries that make him tanky (which MK has a lot of). He will be super tanky, take turns very often, and he will build up curse of the sword which gives him tons of free stats on top of infinite vigor.

Irene is kinda sucky ngl. Her Martial Artist class is tuned entirely to be anti-melee and gets hard fucked by ranged enemies. If you want to do something neat at your point in the game go back and kill Leton in ramjist plaza until you get the mastery iron wall. This mastery is supposed to be obtained later but its a mastery needed to craft magic armor which is strong as fuck on Battle Mage. Battle mage in general is a lot better vs ranged enemies because she will have much higher block compared to MA and will heavily reduce incoming damage. BM also has masteries built around healing the character on hitting enemies so those shooters will actually buff her indirectly.
>>
>>2380450
>Yeah but the problem I have with Albus isn't AT delay, it's the fact he has such low health he gets one shot by all sorts of random stuff, so he doesn't get AT locked he just straight up dies.
Post his mastery board. You may just be going too hard on offensive masteries and not hard enough on defensive ones. Albus himself has access to a mastery set called second wind which makes him tanky as fuck and damn near immortal at low hp because it will constantly feed him free heals and permanently give him regeneration.
>>
>>2380451
>Irene is kinda sucky ngl. Her Martial Artist class is tuned entirely to be anti-melee and gets hard fucked by ranged enemies.
I wouldn't call her sucky in the base game. Martial Artist is one of the easiest classes to run Physical Resistance 3 on, and she can still output shitloads of ESP damage thanks to fire SP. She only really falls off towards the end of DLC1, and then DLC2 absolutely rapes her.
>>
>>2380442
>How is it a trap?
NTA but
>Don't slap it one everyone when you could instead get more synergistic masteries that reduce AT better
pretty much clarifies what he means. Also OSOK doesn't work well on characters that rely on multi-hits so this means any bladestorm-focused Albus build for example. If your characters can take their turns fast enough then it doesn't matter if they're not chainkilling a bunch of things in a single turn.

Chainkilling is probably the biggest noob trap in the game. It works until it doesn't, then the game will feel extremely unfair if you didn't learn to play any other way.

>Also I don't really think there are such things as "cheese" builds in games like this, tactics are tactics and if one build is strong as hell it should be used because that's the point of a strategy game, figuring out what works best and using it well
Don't worry, the devs absolutely agree with you on this, it's part of the reason why they're so based, and also why they go out of their way to deliberately fuck over certain playstyles in the DLC.

>>2380450
>Yeah but the problem I have with Albus isn't AT delay, it's the fact he has such low health he gets one shot by all sorts of random stuff, so he doesn't get AT locked he just straight up dies
Albus does struggle a bit with raw defensive stats but he has access to one of the best defensive mastery sets in the game (second wind) and has good synergy with final resistance and weapon blocking. I never really had a problem with him getting one-shot once I get him to 100% block and beyond with some items to boost health.
>>
>>2380456
She is... alright. I think she just heavily relies on either having berserker equipped or hero active.
>>
Speaking of Irene I'm surprised she doesn't have some mastery set that lets her gain Hero as an ability. It would be thematically fitting and you could toss it in as an ability mastery or an irene exclusive set. Would be great to have to synergize with lunatic beast so you don't have to do janky vision shit with lonely hero.

Infinite turn Irene is really strong, just have to apply her at the right time.
>>
>>2380474

>>

100% Block makes anybody tanky and Albus has a fairly easy time reaching it between his classes and Wind masteries providing a lot of easy, synergistic Block sets. Irene doesn't have as easy of a time stacking Block from her SP but Defensive Choice gels well with her loner playstyle while both her classes have great Block options. Wind Veil is the main difference between Albus and Irene, both of them can tank near indefinitely with all the difficulty modifiers turned on, but Irene can't deal with AT delay while Albus laughs it off.
>>2380480
It's pretty reliable with Wandering Brawler and Lone Fighter, most of the time I would get the set-up going off of one Flame Explosion.
>>
>>2380472
I think they wanted to keep it flavourful so that she can only enter that state when things get real.
>so you don't have to do janky vision shit with lonely hero.
Accidentally lost it on my clipboard, but she has a 2-point Attack mastery called The Responsibility of a Hero which triggers Hero when she sees an ally die or lose more than 50% of their HP. It happens a lot more often than you'd think if you keep her around a group instead of going off on her lonesome.
>>2380480
Not him, but you can pair it with One Shot One Kill so that she restores AP whether she one-shots or two-shots them. There are ways to get 100% burn chance, and also a mastery set that destroys enemy block against burning targets so she crits a lot on the second hit of her Fire Wheel Carriage.
>>
>>2380486
Yeah, even if you can't necessarily get the Fire Explosion the build is still pretty good just using Fire Wheel Carriage, she can chain a lot of kills with just that and Pyromaniac (IIRC) sets as long as you're not fighting Destrons you can't Burn at all or something.

I really wish ranged ESP classes had some shit like fire support or overwatch so ESP Albus or Bianca could actually make good use of that.
This negoor has a lot of potential synergy with it because of all the responsive attacks negooris can get and he's the only wind negoori out there, but I don't really feel like testing builds with him at the moment since I've been fucking around with other beasts

It can do both, you have Flames of Vengeance to recover 1 AP on putting a burning enemy out of action, this one doesn't have Pyromaniac but you can include that to get rid of the cooldown on Flame Carriage so you can spam it, I had the set on at earlier points in the game. The build is at its strongest around Fire tiles for sure though, there's not much point in deploying it on a map where you can't generate them. You probably still could but you'd cut all the Fire tile sets basically and it'd be a build focused on taking advantage of Burn. I'm not sure what beasts are good at generating Fire tiles but I'm sure there are some, then there's Kylie's drones, and unfortunately Ray is rather awful at generating fire with Molotov Cocktails, so she's out.
>>
>>2380496
I was talking about the one that reduces your AT at the end of the turn by 1 per wind mastery equipped, to a maximum of 10, when you have a Wind status effect.
But that set you're thinking of is still decent for Wind Drakis when paired with a Hunter. I've used it on Draki Queen and a wind Tima before too so they don't AT themselves with counterattacks.

>open the game to reread the mastery
>realize me and everyone else has been misunderstanding it the whole time
The trigger for the AT reduction is when you use a wind attack ability, but the AT is based on all attack abilities, so it'll stack up when you use your regular attacks, Forestallments and Counterattacks, and then when you trigger Pincer Attack or Cover to use Gentle Gust out- of-turn it'll give you AT. Reading the code backs this up too.
It resets to 0 at the start of your turn, builds up during your turn with every attack used - of any kind - and continues building up until you take a turn again.
>>
>>2380513
Another thing you can do is Call of Wind Albus, but I didn't find that worth pursuing. Another problem with it is you can take 26 AT turns with a Wind build, so there's not a lot of time to get stacks anyway.
>>
Irene is flat out the worst designed character in the game, and the only one even in the realm of competition with her is Leton. Having her entire setup be reliant on a buff only consistently available through one individual mastery which also enforces a singular playstyle with her is an absolutely terrible design choice. It doesn't help that Martial Artist is the most one note class in the game, either. Hopefully the new characters in Banished Children will avoid these kind of design flaws.

The only major issue I can think of with Irene is that she has no delay immunity or good AT reduction outside of lunatic beast, when, as a melee character, she really needs it. I also used to think Martial Artist was a terrible class, in fact I've made posts about it before in these threads, but my opinion has really changed, Irene just doesn't have a lot of synergy with it compared to Battlemage simply because all her abilities are ESP. Leton and mungos can make much better use of fighter/MA masteries than Irene can. The thing about Martial Artist is that you're not supposed to make a board consisting almost entirely of class masteries unlike other classes, it expects you to slot in a lot of common (or ESP if you're using Body and Mind Training) masteries. Focusing too much on class masteries is something that a lot of new players get hung up on when there are quite a few extremely powerful common and SP masteries/sets worth using.
>and the only one even in the realm of competition with her is Leton

Alright I'll look up this Second Wind Mastery and see if I can work it in. Right now I just built him entirely around Forestallment and Counterattack, even though he usually dies he still kills a lot before going down, especially if he blocks enough that I can get back to his turn and use a healing potion. The entire issue is his lack of health and I really don't see room to use the masteries that fix that problem.
>>
>>2380533
Just remove Hysteria and slot Body Training in for now
>>
>>2380533
Some people are going to wildly disagree with me here, but I think counterattack is almost never worth using, not even with Retaliation. The AT rape isn't worth it, especially on Albus who has decent abilites so he's better off getting his turn back quicker than using any responsives that delay his turn.
Blade Deflection and Bullet slice are also generally considered terrible, Defensive Choice is the better option.
>>
>>2380533
seconding >>2380535
slot in defensive choice. Its one of the best early game mastery sets for making melee units survivable.
>>
>>2380535
I loved Counterattack on my first playthrough but I pretty much never use it any more for those exact reasons. Forestallment and getting back around to your turn as well as good targeting is all Albus needs. You can build characters that can automatically fight whatever, you can put DSE on them, but I pretty much never find this better than not screwing over my AT and just getting my turns at normal paces. Perhaps the biggest exception is when you stack enough AT reduction effects to blaze through Counterattack's penalties, but given most of those AT refunds are on kill, they can get fucked over by the right enemies approaching and that situation becomes more commonplace as the game goes on.
>>
>>2380535
I think Counterattack has its place in a Great Swordsman build because it's part of a damage reduction set, but generally I treat Retaliation and Sen no Sen as mutually exclusive because having both of them in your board clogs up your Basic slots like crazy, as that anon has discovered.
>>
>>2380531
>>2380532
Superstar is garbage. It's so useless as a class it might as well not even be in the game. Which leaves Leton with Martial Artist, the most simplistic and uninteresting class in the game. Add that to all his Elemental sets being absolutely pointless outside of maybe Frosty Fortress and it's honestly a miracle Irene is somehow even worse than he is, design wise. Yeah he can be effective but all of the potentially fun parts of Leton are stuck in the subpar, undercooked and seemingly half-finished class that is Superstar. The fact that Bianca, Alisa and Misty are all some of the best designed characters in the game makes me think the devs are learning from their mistakes and improving, though, so I am optimistic about the Banished Children classes. Gameplay wise anyway, design wise I'm not really sold, especially after they butchered the Sniper girl with that horrific redesign.
>>
>>2380539
Yeah, Sen no Sen being so fucking good is another big reason why I want Albus' turns to come back around as soon as possible, guaranteed crits is a free win button against a lot of enemy types that normally give him some trouble, and guaranteed Counterattack crits are less reliable.

He still dies too often though so yeah, I'll drop it anyways.
>>
Even if both of Leton's classes suck (which they don't), he's still extremely useful by virtue of being able to freeze, he also has access to that set that heals him whenever he uses an ice ability and has pre-heating, one of the most broken abilities in the game.
>>
>>2380547
I know that feeling all too well. You can keep it if you want and it can work, you're just gonna find that sometimes Albus is over there with 200 AT while the rest of your team is clearing the rest of the map and it's going to be done by the time he gets a turn.

Really sorry for the anon that missed the initial one and wanted to participate, hopefully that'll be remedied in the not-so-distant future since BC is still probably a long time away.

Superstar suffers from a classic problem in RPGs or tactics games in general, it's a class centered around buffing and debuffing, except in 99% of the cases, players find doing this annoying and tedious when it's faster and simpler to just use units that straight up kill the enemies without going through the debuffing process in the first place. I don't think I've ever played a single tactics or RPG game that ever solved this issue, ultimately the players will always gravitate towards the simple adiom of "death is the best form of CC", and what are you going to do as a dev to counter that? Make it really hard or impossible to kill stuff without prebuffs or debuffs on targets first?

Except every game that has tried this gets massively negative feedback so you're left in this shit situation where debuffers/buffers are either just time wasters that aren't needed at all, (and worse, it makes them OP since the game is designed around people not bothering to use it, see Rogue Trader and the Officer class for a nice recent example) which makes them feel shit to use, or they're mandatory which ALSO makes them feel shit to use since they lock you into that class and playstyle. Like I said, I've never seen anyone effectively solve this problem which is why it's probably better to just not bother with such classes to begin with, they never work.
>>
>>2380573
You can write as many walls of text as you'd like, but it won't change the fact that Superstar has a repeatable 0AP +20/-20 AT buff with an 8-tile radius (that's 16 tiles diameter), which cripples every enemy on the screen and makes all your own units take their turns faster.
>>
>>2380574
Alright TL;DR for you then: People would still rather just kill stuff than use a buffer/debuffer, regardless of how strong it is, which is why classes like Superstar are always doomed to fail.
>>
>>2380573
A debuff class isn't Superstar's issue. Its issue is the dancer gimmick with randomized moves and shit that you have to chain for bonus effects.
>>
>>2380576
You're wrong. Dancers in Fire Emblem are consistently in their own tier as the most broken units in the game, and Superstar is a Fire Emblem Dancer which affects every ally AND ENEMY in the same radius that a Sniper Giselle can shoot within.
>>
>>2380576
No, I like it when games have more complex gameplay rather than simplified gameplay, and removing buff stages is doing just that. That's why I fell in love with Atlus RPGs a long time ago because buffs actually mattered a lot.
>>
>>2380577
The dances aren't random. They are in order of 1, 2, 3, 4 from the left, skipping skills on cooldown. Once you understand that, the whole system becomes deterministic and breaks the game wide open.

The people that criticize buff/debuff classes in RPGs can't even recognize a 1-2-3-4 pattern. Yikes.
>>
>>2380579
Are you dense? It doesn't matter how strong they are, that's not the issue, and never has been. In fact in most RPGs/tactics games buffers/debuffers are OP because the devs design the game around the assumption that many players won't bother to use them, which makes every encounter become a joke for the players that take the time to do it. It's a core problem with the market itself, and I don't really see how you can fix it, as many people simply do not like playing with or around buffs/debuffs. So if the game isn't balanced around them, the inevitable result that they're either ridiculously OP or utterly pointless happens pretty much every single time. Since I don't see how they can solve this issue without reforming the market itself, which isn't going to happen, it's obvious the solution would be to just put those class types in the grave where they belong rather than keep slamming your face into the wall of problems their existence creates for the balance of the game.
>>
>>2380594
I can't really speak to other games but the status effects in Troubleshooter aren't very worth it because its all about killing as many enemies as fast as possible. Most things just die too quickly for it to be worth it even if the effect is strong.

Also a lot of debuffs aren't very worth it like burn falling off a cliff post early game, poison being a straight downgrade to bleed, etc.

I was curious to see if the higher-tier lightning timas were a straight upgrade over the basic variant so I tamed a basic one and White Thunder to see and got them to close to the same level (I'm not grinding both to level 60 lol). In hindsight, I could've just use the mod tool to get this information but oh well.
To my surprise, they actually have different, but not exactly straight upgraded or downgraded base stats. The basic one has significantly more attack power while Thunderbolt has a bit more ESP, accounting for the level difference. Thunderbolt also has more health and speed.
I'll actually bother to get the level 60 base stats for all four lightning timas later, Gold Molar and Blue Teeth hopefully have significantly better base stats due to being legendary, found in high-level stages, and difficult to tame.
>>
After two hours and one checkpoint I managed to do 50V Abandoned Supply Base CC HR/HR with my max lvl 55 team. I am so proud of myself.
>>
>>2380597
Yeah, exactly, that's how most games work, if not all. Debuffs are pointless because you are stacking them on stuff that's going to die before it really has an effect. Even the DoTs in this game are only worthwhile if they're something like Bleed where they are useful insofar as they are a trigger to give you bonus AT or flat out additional action points. The actual damage it does is irrelevant. So why is it even in the game? Legit what is the purpose of stuff like Poison or Burn or Electric Shock or Bruise or all the other worthless stuff that doesn't really need to exist at all, at least for the players units.

Yup, crabmits are a pain if you don't know how to fight them.
>They apparently teleport under my units, sometimes offing them instantly
The troublemaker information page doesn't show the full details of how Thrust Out works, but it's a pretty broken ability. Ignores responsive attacks so it goes through forestallment and overwatch and it's also a fall attack so it has decent accuracy.
The main thing to know though is that it does a fuckton of bonus damage to anyone in exposed state. So always keep your units in cover, even if they're being flanked, or put draki's perfect scale or keen sense on them. They will probably get one-shot otherwise.

>I spam flares and scans but scans seemingly do nothing but showing me the ones that are out in the minimap.
Putting Revealed on crabmits prevents the ones that are unburrowed from burrowing, and forces the ones who are burrowed out. If there is any target nearby when forced out, they will use thrust out on that enemy. It's worth it to preemptively reveal crabmits before they burrow though, since they heal and gain rage while burrowing.
Some of the burrow decals don't actually have crabmits in them, you can tell by checking the minimap, seeing if you can move your units over it, or if it has little smoke/steam particles coming out of it. So when you try to reveal them, make sure you're targeting an area that actually has burrowed crabmits and not "fake"/empty burrows.
Kylie's scan only puts revealed on targets if they're in her line of sight and you have her unique character mastery equipped, so make sure you have that. If you're using hacker you probably have it equipped, otherwise you should probably switch her to hacker since it's really expensive to run on engineer since it has no sets for that class. Ranger and Witch can also easily put revealed on a lot of targets with their masteries, and any "golden" beast can get a genetics mastery that reveals anything in a six tile radius around them.

tl;dr

>keep spamming flares and scans
>you can see if a burrow actually has a crabmit in it if it blocks movement and has white smoke particles

Appreciated, unfortunately I ended up discovering Eternal immortal Bianca. No way the devs left something like this just laying there, using it was quite cathartic.
>>

Something else nobody mentioned is that most of the crabs have a skill called Lie in Ambush that makes them use Thrust Out as a responsive attack when they see someone end their turn. It's got a distinctive sound effect when they set it up, and it's what causes them to occasionally trigger your Lightning Reflexes.
>>
Crabmits are really one of the more unique enemies in the game in the way they play, I feel like they're wasted by mostly being in levels where they're the only enemies. They would work best sprinkled in levels with a other enemy types so you get caught off guard when they suddenly jump out of nowhere and kill one of your units, though I'm sure people would complain about that. Being the sole enemy type in a level makes them really easy to play around. Imagine if there was a group of crabmits scattered throughout 50v or 54v and you had to choose between using a flare to put revealed on the dusk rangers to negate their cover move, or save it to force a crabmit out.
>>
>>2381363

They did say they would be bringing back the AC beasts in the sequel, just saying it feels like a missed opportunity in DLC1/DLC2 to make better use of crabmits as an enemy type.

Also mungos being in BC probably explains some of the class choices for the team members, stuff like no thrower or (confirmed) martial artist makes sense if those classes will be available through mungo tames. The cutscene at the start of mungo hell has the mungos discussing going back to the Iron Forest so they might be a major plot point or enemy faction in BC, assuming Albus's company didn't completely wipe them out.

She'd probably have unique beasts you couldn't get anywhere else in the game, like Jeff and Jim did.
It'd be nice if she brought some of the legendary beasts from Abandoned Children's violent cases along, maybe a Draki King to give you a taste of Drakis before they become accessible.
Much more important is the question if we're getting new designs and outfits for returning characters, though.

So here's what you have over a Witch with a similar build:
>Witch can't fit Blood Wind, the build gets up to 130 Speed with Acceleration which is enough for 44 AT turns, so Blood Wind is worth 8 AT on a kill
>-1 CD
>like 150% more damage, 200% crit damage and 50% crit chance on 100% already
>5-6 less delay on your attacks
>a few more points of damage reduction because you lose Improved Magic Shield (20%) but gain like 25% from Investigate Origin and Forbidden Magic Book
I'm inclined to agree all the stuff a Witch can do is better overall, it's a matter of how much you value Witch not being able to get rid of all their cast delay without using an inferior Bangle and also being unable to fit Blood Wind which will have the BM Bianca taking turns roughly 35-40% more often.
>>
>>2381735
Oh, and the Witch has 20% less hit chance too.
>>
>>2381735
Another thing is you get so much bonus stats from buff stacking and enemies later in the game have plenty of buffs to steal too. And if you run the Mutant set with curse/trace on and include draki's noble scale as the trinket she can get near immediate turns from a single ranged enemy tickling her.

I did forget Magical Accelerator gives -10 AT. So you could even drop Improving Magic but it helps a good bit on Wind Veil and Illusion so it still seems worth it. Still, there's a few points to play with, you can take Standing Alone for another 15% damage reduction, and we can fit in Best Condition too since we probably have enough damage. That's 30% DR on the first hit and as long as you avoid damage we can now take 21 AT turns to the Witch taking 50~ AT turns.
>>
>>2381765
Whoops, wrong screenshot. Get rid of Principle-ist and Brazenface, then replace Willpower for Best Condition. Also I typo'd on the Witch taking 40 AT turns.

Put all the XP gain masteries (Faithful Supporter set with Beast Trainer) on Giselle and play the first ordinary case (Fallen Leaves Park) with just her. Ctrl+Shift+6 makes all the VHPD units disappear from the mission to get through it quicker. This will get the beasts to the 40-50 level range with just a few runs, usually if you're trying to get it through all its evolutions. Pic rel is the build I use for that, it's not super optimized but it does the job of breezing through low level stages just fine.
You can also just put Final Blow on the beast and try to feed it kills in any high level map.

If you don't want to actually grind out beast (and drone) levels, it's easy to just "passively" level them by just summoning them each time you do a map and just leaving them in a corner, this way you'll just level them up as you do cases regularly. A lot slower than using the above methods but you don't have to dedicate time to specifically leveling the beasts that way.
>>
>>2381901
>Put all the XP gain masteries (Faithful Supporter set with Beast Trainer) on Giselle and play the first ordinary case (Fallen Leaves Park) with just her.
Forgot to mention that you should play it on challenge mode so the enemy levels are scaled up for more XP gain
>>
>>2381901
I haven't had to powerlevel beasts for years, but from what I remember it was faster to bring both Giselle and Ray, since Ray's AOE attacks and multiple ways to regain AP let her clear the entire map in 2-3 turns.

I think you were also supposed to bring Kylie because she has a scholar mastery set that increases allies EXP gain?
>>
>>2381964
Yeah, Ray and Kylie with the Scholar exp set each and faster clearing.
Higher levelled maps inherently give more exp too. People just do Fallen Leaves park because it's easy. I level most of my own beasts on Karma.
>>2381901

A way to make it a bit faster is to give your beast Final Blow and some damage masteries, and try to snipe kills with them. Because the exp formula gives bonuses based on the attacker vs the enemy level they'll gain insane amounts of experience on kill, like 20,000 - 40,000 each.

You get diminishing returns from stacking speed (same with armor and resistances) and at a certain point it stops having an effect (aside from other things that scale with speed) so it's not worth it to prioritize speed on all your equipment. Ability cast delay also contributes quite a bit towards how fast some units' turns are so if you characters are using a lot of expensive abilities, it might be better to focus on that over raw speed.

>>2381964
The beast should get more exp when Giselle (or itself) kills a unit instead of anyone else, so clearing the map with Ray might not be best unless it makes up for the loss in xp by sheer time saved. It's not like end-game Giselle builds are lacking in speed or AT reduction, and she can easily OSOK/Catharsis chain kill until she gets interrupted by a random impulse fields. But yeah, bringing Ray and/or Kylie along for that scholar exp gain will help.
>>
>>2382011
As long as the other two have Supporter and exp masteries there's no difference between Giselle killing things and them killing things. Beast Training doesn't care who produces the experience.

Man I hate how Sniper Lumi is objectively better than Marksman Lumi, especially in those late game violent encounters where you need to one-shot Benjamin or Carter, because Marksman Lumi is so much more fun especially with the chain fire set. Also is it just me, or is Gyro an even bigger jobber than he was in Abandoned Children? It's still stupidly easy to infinitely suppress him even if it's harder to freeze him since there's no ranged ice user on the team, but with Ryo's unblockable multi-hit SP ability on his infinite Awaken build (canon build btw) you can just kill him in one turn through Impulse Fields and Magic Armor/Iron Wall.

Actually, Dandy silently nerfs enemies and stuff over time. The destrons in 60S have been nerfed at least 3 times from their introduction, only one of which was reflected in the patch notes. There are also several cases in the main game where events that used to be gameovers when you lost have been changed to progress the story regardless.
