>>2394583Predictions for 1.2 tomorrow bros? I haven't been playing too much the last week because trade is just too broken. I have hopes they've fixed the ridiculous oversupply situation with the tweaks at a bare minimum and the patch will be a success
when is it going to actually be available?
>>2394595It'll fix some things and break other things, as usual.
>>2394602like 8 or 9am est
>"the DLC isn't going to be power creep, anon, Johan isn't that stupidly intent on destroying EU5 forever"Johan apologists explain yourselves right FUCKING now
>>2394606doesn't china have some absurd CBs as well
>>2394606To be fair cbs and general diplo stuff are some if the most gamey elements already so if you don't add stuff like this there's no way you're getting anything close to history. stab hits in general are retarded in how they're implemented
Can any hellenic culture turn into the Byzantines if the Byzantines are dead?
>>2394595The thing I care about most is the updated starting economies, your ducats/month at game start is basically the campaign's difficulty. "Delete every castle and fort in your country before you unpause the game, you can't afford them" being such common advice means something is terribly wrong, and the AI doesn't know how important it is, which is at least part of the reason we're able to outpace them so quickly. Boosting a bunch of economies from the start will be good for the game, but also means that areas that don't get touched will be even poorer now by comparison (meaning this should end up being a nerf to Africa and the Americas). So my prediction is that Ireland will still be a bunch of broke, dirt farming, shit eating tribals who barely comprehend the concept of a town, much less a burgher building. Luck of the Irish.
>>2394595absolute unmitigated disaster/nothing burger
>research actual history of byzantium>starting ruler andronikos III held shit together>when he died a civil war broke out between his co-emperor john kantakouzenos and his son johnny 5 who was still a kid>watch streamers play new dlc>random ahistorical civil war scripted to break out between some literally who for no reason every game>actual civil war between kantakouzenos and johnny 5 doesn't happenWhy the fuck did they do this? It would have been phenomenally easy to script the real civil war that happened in history to break out when your starting ruler died, why did they create a fake one and force it? Their meme video hyping the DLC even references the real civil war, but it doesn't happen in game.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmMxgKVQdM&t=829Why on Earth would they make a Byzantium DLC without including this?
>>2394659mods will fix it!
>>2394659doesn't the civil war happen only if you reach 0 legitimacy? from what i saw on generalist stream, there's a tug of war between andronikos and a pretender, civil war is a pretender route
>>2394582they should lay off on reduced antagonism, make it cheaper warscore but you need to fight coalitions more
>>239470650% reduction in cost is actually insane when you consider retaking a core is only 25% reduced warscore cost. It's firmly in power creep territory to give a larp ERE that kind of CB against fucking france, which no Byzantine had ever once held any part of and hadn't been in the Roman empire for 1300 years by this point. Why not give Denmark a CB that lets them conquer mainland England at that point? Why not give theodoro a claim in fucking provence? It's actually retarded.
It's Wednesday Johan, where's my FREAKING update????
>>2394710>Why not give Denmark a CB that lets them conquer mainland England at that point?restoration of the danelaw will be a path in the scandi dlc
>>2394713 (me)also thinking about it just having an always readily acessible cb is reward enough
>>2394714To make this retarded CB partially balanced and not a larp dogshit alt fantasy-history fever dream, you just let the CB be permanent but give it 0% to all the values and increase the antagonism by 100%(probably better if it's 250%), guaranteeing a massive coalition anytime you do anything because why the fuck wouldn't most of the fuedal nobility of enlightenment Europe band together to crush a country claiming literally all of their dynasties lands? But that doesn't make byzantrannies cum in their pants, so Johan won't do it
>>2394717more cbs make the board game better

I don't really like the whole needing to memorise dozens upon dozens of events. I don't think that is a superior system to a focus tree.
>>2394710Meh. If you powergame hard enough, excellent wargoals are in the "nice to have" category, but simply getting a -25% one (by releasing a vassal with cores, or a parliament claim + threaten war) will let you expand faster than you can keep your realm stable.
>>2394756The point being the minus antagonism is actually bullshit because why would other people see that and say "oh! It's the byzzies! I guess it's not a problem"

If you get far enough to reform the Roman Empire then you've already won the game.
how long will it take for me to be able to pirate the dlc? a few minutes like EU4?

>>2394864you first faggot tranny
>>2394844>if u win the 100 yeets war as X country you already won the game.
>>2394595It won't touch most of the problems that make people drop the game
>>2394867I mean that's unironically trueIf you have both England and France there isn't anyone in the game that'll be able to hurt you.The only challenge becomes how long it'll take to kill millions of chink bugmen on the other side of the planet
God damn they fucked up the dlc so badly it makes me seethe. Latinitas should be the viable option if you're dying and need to suck off the pope to gain aid (like X amount of latin knights etc) or by sucking off the italian merchants as was the case since Alexios I Komnenos took over. Romanismos should be the option for people that want to play as a regional power that tries to attract the other orthodox patriarchates and try to submit them. This legionnairy Roman pagan larp is so fuckign dumb only EU IV mana Johan cum slurpers would enjoy
>>2394606I think this is a poor example of power creep because people who keep playing at that point only do it to paint the map in Roman red but hasn't the fact that some countries get reforms that give you an extra court wizard, reform or OP regulars already set the stage for power creep.they've normalized adding variation by giving some countries extra bonuses from the startByzantines become easy as pie as soon as you wrap up the initial disaster thanks to the knights, extra court wizard and additional reform
>>2394874Prussia's militarize the country cabinet action was already ridiculous power creepHoly Orders entire gameplay mechanics are absurd power creepChina's existence is power creep.etc. etc.
I despise byzantrannies so much most of my games are either as the Ottomans or other Turkish beylik and I make sure to completely erase reekjeets and kike worshipping cults in the region asap thanks to it

Does the game allow you to create new vassals from scratch, kinda like client states from eu4? Could you technically make every location in Sicily a county? Thinking of getting the game
>>2394925Only if they aren't integrated provincesYou could make every location a country but it would take a lot pf time since vassals are releases by provinceWait a few years
Did they ever make it possible for the AI to actually integrate PUs?

I usually do a quick 100 year obs run whenever a new patch drops just to see how the AI behaves.Nothing ever happens bros.... I think we're so back
>>2394960>france blobbing in the HRE>ottomans still failing to advance in the balkans>mongolian middle east and iran>french england>pope still gets annexed without consequences >castile goes after portugal instead of muslim iberiaAt least the golden horde exploded
From what little I'm reading it seems the game is slowly going in the right direction all things considered. Balance is one thing PDX doesn't know what it means anyway, but what really pissed me off when I played last November was the small things that makes 0 sense. They bothered with demographics and all that, yet when I sent colonists from a minority-filled area of the realm they automatically become the national culture in the new world?? Shit like that feels like band-aid because they haven't yet implemented colonial culture developing organically.Seems sending colonists doesn't automatically convert them now but I can't choose what area to send people from? Interesting...
>>2394970>trade enjoyer>you just automate everything
>>2394969I have a few work meetings coming up so I guess I'll leave it running for a bit longer, see how shit it looks once we hit the reformation.
>>2394973Trade automation is necessary. Doing it manually means wasting 20 minutes filling up 1k Trade Cap every month.
>>2394976>NOOOO I HAVE TO PLAY THE GAME AIIIIIIIIIIIIII SAVE ME JOHAN
>you can still just no cb the ottomans may 1 1337 and walk down their forts without any issuewow, very challenging disaster johan. the only reason its 1339 right now is because it took TWELVE (12) ticks at 28% to siege their fortdon't mind the lack of advisors, I just ran it at max speed without any intent to continue this game to test
>>2394977Trade is tedious. No one likes or does it manually.

>>2395006i don't even know how that is supposed to be pronounced
>>2394632 (me)Would you look at that: TWO new towns, 300% as many towns! Don't be fooled by what the start screen says their tax base is though, it craters after a month tick happens and the reality of market conditions hits. The one I quickly did setup for is still turning a profit, but the other is losing ~0.7 ducats a month even at 0% cost of court spending. Look at how warped the estate power gets just from this change, this is without giving burghers any more privs too. Maybe could be fun to play an Irish Republic game, they said the Lordship of Ireland situation got changes. Also, performance is noticeably worse and I forgot how bad this game feels to play without UI mods.
curious how nafonigs appear in these threads only when new updates pop up
Only stone cold banderites should be allowed to post here.
Did they add new locations to Greece and such? I want MORE tiles

>>2395048Are clans still unable to afford their starting army?
>>2395048Also, not sure if this is deliberate or something but it seems clans can't marry anyone anymore, even other clans. This is with all filters removed. I'll try to get a marriage into the Imperial line, because that was its own source of bugs before.
>>2395053I don't know how much you've played in Japan, but every time I do, its hard to marry. Even back to 1.0.
>>2395052The larger clans seem to have 500 regulars, same as me, the smaller ones have 200, and OLM have none. Only just started though, they may delete them.

>>2395080oh I didn't even notice the yearbravo johan
>>2395078I have no idea. There didn't appear to be any war. I don't even think the AI would be able to peace out that fast. The situation only started a couple of months before it ended.
>>2395071it isn't getting fixed until the DLC
>>2395087>I don't even think the AI would be able to peace out that fastJapanese wars go really fast. Because there is no sieges. You just walk over their locations and hit "raid clan holdings" and get like 20% warscore each time.
>>2395071Well I started as Oda, and Oda no longer starts with any army at all.Starting with no army and only making 0.54 a month when a single unit costs 119 is unplayable imo.
>>2394960>>2395034Round 2.It looked like it was going to be better, but then the Ottomans did nothing for like 60 years.I'll leave it running in the background, maybe later ages will result in something more interesting happening.
