When I use yt-dlp for twitch, I usually just take the whole stream and haven't gotten any ads so far. That being said, downloading members vods on yt requires auth token as well, but I personally used a cookie extractor and have a config file saved for yt-dlp (only yt login though, don't have my twitch info in there). All in their documentation
