i've been reading everyone's thoughts on this and i've been trying write out my own regarding the Cookie Dilemma. i'm personally a bit torn on this issue because i want everyone to have opportunities for things like this but this feels like a case where it's not only exclusively limited, it may even be temporarily exclusive as well for something we've considered special to us for years.
Disclaimer:
i wanna preface this by saying that this privilege isn't exclusive against me, so that isn't where i'm coming from on this issue. there's no FOMO on my part :joekek:

what feels specifically unfair about it is that the M&G is already a privilege that some of us get to have with you. and it's a case where you're already making those same people who are going happy because they get to see you. it was the point of going in the first place for a lot of shondophrenics.
and so i don't agree with the POV that UK/Vexpo goers are suddenly losing out on something if you don't do them at the cost of this fairness because of what i mentioned above. and to me, it feels like that POV is also coming from the fact that it IS your cooking and that it IS special.

The Main Problem:
my feelings on it are mixed because what makes it special was that the idea and fantasy of having our wife's cooking was something that we all shared as "being nice to have but can't have" due to our dynamic with you. and this is in a dynamic of admiring the cooking you show us and even you indulging in promoting this fantasy in us.

but now that fantasy is just not a fantasy for very select few people in a privilege that is definitionally exclusory to the rest.

and while i know we are trying to shy away from catering to FOMO, this is a case where i feel like FOMO is only a small part of that, because it's not just a fear of missing out. we've had an idea dangled and fawned over for us, for literal years now, only being given access to select few.
now the idea is here and i think there is some pretty understandable ire against the idea when it's suddenly an exclusory thing.
i genuinely think that this was not an ok thing to do to your regulars and while this may sound harsh, it feels like being led on to what was assumed to be only be a fantasy with you.

i struggle to be happy for those select few because, even in my position where i can eventually obtain them, it is still unfair exclusion. and honestly, it's not an easy thing to protest because i'm aware there's select few are immediately excited about this and my goal isn't to trample on that happiness

Conclusion:
while the idea is nice, i do think it's an honest mistake even if one done out of love and earnestness. and while it's a forgivable mistake, i want to at least offer some constructive feedback, since we rarely have issues like this come up and i empathize with some who are emotionally upset about this decision and may not know how to express it. i appreciate being heard out, so thank you and i apologize for the lengthiness of this. :shadowwoozy:
