Yes, you do need to mentally prepare for it since you need to keep people entertained for hours while using your voice a lot, and it requires a lot of self-motivation. If you aren't in the mood to stream, it's not going to be enjoyable for you and just cause anxiety. You need to worry about technical difficulties, opsec, drama queens bashing on you for anything you say, if you have time to do other tasks and obligations before and after the stream, constantly worry about if you are good enough without burning out. If you stream you might understand this, but it also varies depending on your personality. Since it's Christmas it's probably good for her to enjoy time with her family and relax a little.
