>I double checked on twitter and the people are saying it's only 30k yen
lol what the fuck Japan? A $200 credit card? I know their financial culture is super conservative, but holy shit. At best I probably make a third of what Taso does and have fewer savings, but my CC has a $16,000 limit (I use about $2k/mo and always pay it all off).

Noel just briefly talked about inviting Kanata and Coco to a meal and will be talking about it tomorrow. Sounds like the same meal she was talking about a couple of days earlier, so this is the one Kanata tried to pay for.
>>
>>108487443
I assume she has a debit card too and the cc is just for traveling overseas or just in case. I certainly have never needed one either
>>
>>108487873
I only use mine because in the US, if you don't use a basic cash-back credit card, you're losing money (via merchant fees) to fund the cash-back perks of people who do use them.
>>
ppt wouldve loved to play mimesis with her harem.....
>>
>>108487786
This is probably a very american thing, but credit cards are pretty useful as long as you use them responsibly. I only pay for what I can afford and the CC is basically there so I can get rewards. Usually CC rewards are better than point cards and DCs, plus CC companies are generally better at dealing with fraud since you can just deactivate the CC without the stolen card affecting your actual bank account (plus CC companies usually are willing to reimburse your lost money compared to banks/DCs)

>>
>>108487913
>>108488088
The "no fault chargeback" policy in the US was pretty unique at the time it was made, and was implemented to give people more confidence to use their cards online.
>>
>>108487913

>>
Which country would you like Kson take Tazo to vacation ?
>>
>>108488088
>>108488169
Ok, that's what I thought. Yeah, like here you've probably heard about air miles where you can get free plane tickets while just spending normally. There's also just outright cashback and other point based systems like that. So if you treat the credit card like a bank card and only spend what you 100% guarantee have, then there's just no real reason not to use one
I imagine Japan's probably more like Europe than here, though. Her biggest problem would probably be paying while on international trips

200€ max is also the Standard Revolut plan for ATMs withdrawal. Except I pay nothing for it and it has no limit for paying online or in stores. Also has up to 1000€/month free currency conversion. I used mine all up by investing in stocks but that would have been useful for Taso merch.

My physical bank's Mastercard has 1000€/week withdrawals limit and 4000€/month for paying (6000€ max). It's too expensive though, so I'll probably ditch it soon once I'm done emptying this account. (6.6€/month + the sneaky 1.8€ insurance I just got rid of this week).

Also I just discovered through my bank's app that this whole "credit" card thing is simply differed payments, LOL. I can just press three buttons to ask my bank to resend me one to replace it, though there's no point. It just says "credit" on it instead of "debit".

Ever heard of debit cards. Taso likely has had one all this time (even though Japanese, like Germans, love cash).
The whole credit card technology is an artifact of a pre-connected world where direct debit was impractical or impossible. With the modern internet infrastructure credit makes little sense.

I'd say it's the opposite: with modern internet infrastructure you have better payment options than debit cards, so debit cards have no use at all. either you use credit cards for their benefits, or something else entirely.

It's not like I don't understand where you're coming from since I'd love to see Kanata be her own woman more than anything. But you should try to accept that right now all we're going to see of her is secondhand stories and it should be no surprise that kson of all people would be the biggest source of that.
>>
>>108493762
I like think of it as the much better alternative of her just fucking off and disappearing forever. At least she's actively reaching out to her friends and encouraging them to share stories about her, which is a huge departure from what we thought would happen a month ago.
I'm biased though because I started watching her after coco already graduated. In the grand scheme of things her time in holo is much more than that first 1.5 years and I don't think many newer fans even know about that
>>
>>108493762
Supadaritaso was always destined for a harem end especially after making plenty of women cry with her graduation.
>>
>>108489475
Do Japanese credit cards not let you transfer more money onto them than you owe? This is what I had to do when I bought a $6k TV a while ago with a $5k credit limit. If you overpay your "balance due" goes negative which increases your "balance available".

it's a little outdated to still be worrying about things like "coco's sidekick" and "leech" isn't it? kanata was in hololive for 6 years and far surpassed anything coco did for the 1 year she was there
all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore anyway now that they've both graduated, all you need to think of them now is simply two friends who care for each other very much

I definitely understand where its coming from, but for me personally its easy to just focus on the now.
The current "now" is probably better than almost of us could have dared hope for after the start of December, and it feels almost certain that its borne of the camaraderie from going through somewhat similar exits, neither being an outcome they wanted.

I've been thinking about it a lot, especially because her joining V*S degraded my opinion further.
Either way, taso loves her, so I'll do my best and be on my best behavior.

Noel paid for the meal but Kanata wanted to pay her back. And now someone in chat mentioned Kanata's credit limit which feels a bit like a gray area but whatever.
>>
>>108506823
So she has both a credit card with a bank and a "PayPal" branded card?
>>
>>108507429
no, it is a japanese card named paypay
>>
>>108507445
I don't think it's a card but just a digital payment service. But either way, noel managed to persuade Kanata into treating Noel to another meal rather than paying for this super expensive fancy restaurant. She said even Nakau is fine.

Oh and earlier in this story she remarked how Kanata commented she had never eaten food this tasty before.
>>
>>108507347
would you buy taso tenga?
>>
Spaced out a bit so I might be missed something but Noel and Kanata chatted a bit about how Kanata was taking it easy while moving plus chatted about the equipment auction stream she never got around to doing.
>>
I'm so glad taso is getting covered in girls. Man... the original intent she had on Dec 2nd was geniunely horrifying.

>>108507507
>food so tasty
I've been lucky enough to go to a lot of very expensive restaurants for work meetings, its surprisingly not usually the case, but once and a while the food is just so good you can still remember it months later.
I suppose there's a lot of factors to it as well like "really wanted to eat (x), today specifically, and its their speciality" .
>>
>>108507650
Noel has a pic on her stream but honestly I can't tell if she only took a oic after eating some of it or if it's just the stereotypical fancy ass restaurant tiny plate.

Now Noel is talking about how she thinks she needs to check on Kanata some time in the future. She sees her as this "fragile" (probably a better translation) existence.
>>
>>108507733
Noel uses "儚い" to describe Taso a lot, like when she was off for 3 months for the asthma. Also translates to fleeting/ephemeral, but basically gives the vibe that she feels like Taso would disappear at any time. I think she also referenced Taso talking about changing her LINE in relation to that, so she's aware too
>>
>>108507733
I'm glad people will to try to keep a leash of various lengths on her, since taso's long-term music choices certainly do suggest thought tendencies that border some lines, and we all remember the nearly psychopath-level decisions she was trying to make for herself before being intercepted.
I truly hope they all look after her a bit to keep her grounded in reality.
>>
>>108507866
Ah someone who actually knows Japanese. If I've miscommunicated anything from Noel's stories please correct me. I'm just playing it by ear with my half assed knowledge.
>>
>>108507420
It's a confusing matter since stories about taso can be acquired from holos and a non-holo like kson.
>>
I want to see Kanata in a cute dress..
>>
>>108508039
You're good, "fleeting" just jumped out at me because I actually watch quite a bit of Noel talking about Kanata and it's like a things now in her chat that she always calls Kanata fleeting lol
Noel's in general been keeping a closer eye on Kanata for many years now, so I'm not surprised that she noticed in this case too. While they're not super close like Lamy, I think she's someone to trust in terms of being able to check in on Taso and pick out subtleties like that
>>
A heimin SC just prompted Noel to message Kanata on stream regarding her credit card situation. My nihongo isn't jouzu enough to catch what exactly was worrying about it though.
>>
>>108508083
She really should consider creating a new roommate account so fans can concentrate discussion using the new name. Otherwise you get this weird mix of people using "Kanata", PJK, and just "friend" because they still aren't used to how to act with a graduated member.
Twitter AI new summaries are also really bad in that they just make articles with "Amane Kanata" plastered all over them along with kson's name.
It seems that she's definitely ego searching given she gave the go ahead for kson to share more info, so hopefully that would be the consideration one day
>>
Noel just had a minor freak out because someone asked if her pic was of a half eaten plate. It was not. This wasn't Kanata news but it bothered me enough to mention it.
>>
>>108508566
that won’t help, she’d just be adding another name in the mix. people watching hololive will still call her kanata, and people watching kson will still call her pajakko.
>>
>>108508558
I didn't catch it but looks like someone asked about her credit card payments. Something about revolving credit. Anyway, Noel LINE'd Taso about it in response
>>
>>108508729
To be fair it looked like two bites worth of food. Maybe I'm just a fat fuck
>>
>>108508790
Kanata already responded about how there's no worry because the limit's so low and Noel laughed. I'm not sure what this revolving credit is but I guess it was just a heimin worrying too much about Kanata going over her credit limit and spiraling into debt.
>>
>>108508729
eating just a tiny piece of meat without anything else to accompany it is hell
>>
>>108508869
>>108508892
It was part of a multi course meal. The fancy plating just backfired and made it look like it was possibly half eaten which even Noel admitted to. She now has a better picture of duck(?) meat which is still the typical tiny fancy plate but less ambiguous.
>>
>>108508887
revolving credit is just what most people consider "a credit card", isn't it?
you can make purchases, pay off a portion of your debt, and then respend that portion immediately
>>
>>108509044
I've never heard of the term much less the Japanese abbreviation so I thought it might be something other than a regular credit card. But from the context I've gathered it was just a overly concerned heimin.
>>
>>108509113
Unless there's some Super Japanese Quirk to it, definitely just overly-concerned, especially with that infinitesimal limit.
Maybe it depends on the country but there's really no way to get fucked over by a low-limit credit card unless you did something like move from Africa to the USA, get a $10000 credit limit VISA, spend it all, then move immediately back to Africa with your $0.3/hour job that won't be enough to pay off the monthly equilibrium intrest and thus the amount will actually increase beyond the $10000 owed. Just like a loan you don't pay back.

I guess some people are dumb enough to not realize a credit card means you are using... credit. You're borrowing money.
>>
>>108509113
the 杞憂 is real

>>108509298

Seems pretty fancy, the fanciest ones I've ever went to tend to be ones with the smallest number of tables or ones with the most restricted menus, the one linked shares the latter trait.
The fancier they get, there tends to be less menu options since its so specialized (not always, i.e. in rich city cores where they have nearly-guarenteed clients and thus can employ additional specialized staff)
