>>79639722anime girls but with >real personalitiessimplest way to put it
>>79639722It used to be about anime people, male or female being autistic and doing variety show things and then moved onto them live streaming. When it came to the west, the CGDCT niche that .LIVE and Hololive popularized took over the market and completely shat it up so now it's about terminally online neckbeards sperging out about anime boys cucking them 24/7, if not that then about 3DPD woman ruining a hobby they had already ruined for vtubing old fags like me.

>>79639722Seriously? You found your way here and dont know already?Ok on the way out assumption this isnt a shitpost then. Like all good things it started in Japan. Streaming is good people like it but people in Japan have social anxiety almost beaten into them particularly women. So someone had the genius idea of creating an anime avatar that uses face tracking for a streamer so they dont have to reveal themselves. While it started with short videos it moved into live streaming with increasingly large companies giving more elaborate characters to their streamers. In 2020 the pandemic causes a LOT of people to be stuck at home and they discovered the company Hololive which had a focus on their streamers emulating Japanese Idols adding an emphasis on singing dancing and live show events. A bunch of circumstances came together to supercharge its popularity including hiring an english speaker in late 2019 the pandemic the algorhythm picking up the trend and the eventual creation of a wildly popular English branch. Its been alive and kicking ever since then and outlasted the pandemic that kicked it off so it seems like its here to stay now
