>watch ASMR stream
>can't hear shit
>click Stable Volume button
>suddenly I can make out every detail perfectly
What does this button do exactly?

It's basically loudness equalization like Windows has, but as an in-app function.

Youtube loves to slowly roll out features to people. You might have it within a few months.

probably some kind of equalizer? I use these settings to hear the streamer clearly
>>
>>79655651
it certainly sounds like something youtube would do. I look forward to it being randomly added, removed and moved around so their techs can say they're doing something

It's an audio compressor/limiter with gain compensation. If you look at the 'Stats for nerds' on the video, it shows you how many dB below their loudness target it is; the compressor dynamically brings it up closer to the target. If in the ASMR there's a loud click/pop or they knock the microphone, you hear the volume temporarily 'dip' and go quiet, then it slowly rises back up to the target again.

Youtube enabled that shit automatically for me a few days ago. I thought my headphones were dying because everything sounded so quiet.
>>
>>79655183
they added it because youtuber over active yelling pissed parents off

>in-app function
It never stops being cringe seeing people call a website an app.
>>
>>79655651
I see the option but it's greyed out for me.
>>
>>79661176
I'm not. I was assuming OP was on a phone, therefore using the app, since I do not have that function on desktop.
>>
>>79660964
Thanks. I missed that.
>>
>>79661234 (me)
Looks like it's greyed out on live streams but works on vods. Makes sense, I guess.
>>
>>79661243
Well it is a function on desktop though so you see where your attempt at precision got you.
