How do permissions work? I have a hazy understanding of this, the managerial department at Hololive has to sign an agreement or something with the artists for the talents to be able to sing their songs? Isn't the whole point of doing unarchived streams to circumvent that?

For the most part, though, it's akin to an open secret. You play nice and I'll play nice. The advantage, of course, is that IP holders letting others use their stuff increases overall exposure. There are a lot of different reasons why they want it to stay that way and some are better then others, sure.The reason things got so messy is because in 2022 there seemed to be a big push to change things, it wasn't just tempus but they did become the focal point of the drama. It was seen as a push to change holoEN to be more like nijiEN. There was a lot of resistance to this from many of the fans, and seemingly a lot of the talents themslves. Which led to a lot of drama and the big fanbase war. At the end of 2022 management got overhauled and there was a hard pivot back the other way. You can call it the Idol direction, CGDCT, or whatever. Which got solidified as the branch culture by Advent leaning hard into it.The negativity with Liz is mostly shitposters and people trying to reignite the fanbase drama, along with a bit of initial fear that would happen. It won't really amount to anything as long as the general fanbase doesn't start seeing her as trying to change things, or push the other girls into doing things they don't want to do.Sorry for bothering the rest of you with the long rambling post
