Games feel really clunky online with instants/fast spells. There's a lot of start stop every turn. I much prefer Hearthstone where you can end turn and then you don't need to do anything.

>>83137765>>83137127I can appreciate that. Ok, I'll give my thoughts on card games in general. I think mana is a plus as long as it's not in the same deck as the rest of your cards. That's MTGs biggest fault by far, non games are created by losing to the RNG of not drawing the right amount or color of mana. On the flip side having no mana cost is even worse because you either feel extremely hampered as in early Yugioh or you turn the game into a single player game such as modern Yugioh excluding handtraps on turn 1/0. Imo having a seperate mana deck is best. I generally prefer color to class restrictions generally because it allows more freeform deckbuilding but at the cost of fucking yourself for being too ambitious without the right mana fixing. Having a seperate mana deck with randomly drawn mana cards like Force of Will handles this and they have multi color mana stones but it's a half step from having RNG cause balance issues or using RNG as a balancing feature for playing everything. The easiest and least frustrating for a new game to make would likey be having you choose two "colors" to choose from at the start to choose a cardpool from with a set of neurtral cards available to everyone kind of Runeterra. I think the idea of a Champion card you build a deck around is fun and opens up design space but it can be a very format warping mechanic.I am a very big proponent of instant speed effects and interactions including counterspells. It gives much greater depth to the game and having a deck where you can nimbly dance around what your opponent does is very fun. Trap cards are an interesting design space but they should have a cost to them as well. Either mana, life, sacraficing a permanet or future payment of mana next turn like pic related.The only zones I see a need for are hand, grave, exile and battlefield. I don't see the point in having limited space on the field or a back row but I am open to arguments for their existance. Game speed should be slower than Yugioh, a turn 3 or 4 kill should be the goal of an aggro deck.
