I think the biggest problem with the league is that Holofans simply don’t care about Divegrass to the same degree as Phasefans./holoX/ baked a new thread for the match and hardly got 15 posts in it and hardly anyone showed up in chat. Meanwhile even Phase splits will go through hundreds of posts in their generals and show up in droves to support their teams on stream.If every team had fans with half the excitement and enthusiasm that Phase teams have (despite their teams mostly sucking major balls) then the league would be much more enjoyable.

IE the Indie thread like /lig/, /tact/, /pyon/, /wvt/, /mint/, and /haha/ in an Indies Conference, the /pcg/ related teams, /vsj/, and /jidf/ in EN corpos, the JP Holo teams in a group, the EN holo teams in a group, ect. It won't really do anything about the team numbers but it'd create built in rivalries and more incentive to watch money match games

If the competition for slots became more fierce it might feel more fair if we did something like only accepting POI after signups and some more immediacy and feedback to the process so teams with weak POI can have a chance to correct it.
