No, what’s happening has to do with the way Throne payments are going to work. Way it currently works is that talents get 100% of their Throne earnings. You didn’t have to worry about NEXAS taking a cut until recently, Throne sent out an email about how agencies can set an additional fee to cover their share — anywhere from waiving the fee entirely to up to fifty percent in fees, sort of like Ticketmaster. Believe what you want want about NEXAS, but they’re obviously going to charge that extra fifty percent, meaning talents are going to list a product that costs, say, $200, and it’ll show up to the fans as costing $300, which would raise red flags and the fans, not knowing about the new fee scheme, will assume the talents are lying about the item price to get more money. This means talents either have to post the actual cost ($200 base to the talents but $100 in fees to NEXAS) or do math so they get less than the item cost in their bank but publicly, the item cost matches what the fans expect — e.g. setting the $200 item price to $133-ish on their end so that the $66 NEXAS fee makes it equal about $200. Obviously, the NEXAS talents are upset by the revelation. Lie, lack of communication, something that neither party could have foreseen, at the end of the day, it really doesn’t matter.
