How are your projects going tonight? I've taken a few weeks off the project to focus on house cleaning. Might just play video games. Also I'll be out of town tomorrow morning. So I can't salvage the thread.
Other question, how your nation interacts with others. Are you xenophobes, open borders, or whatever else?

Fuck it. What unique survival foods does your nation have? I'm not talking about MRE's or canned food. I'm talking about foods made before modern industry like pemmican.
>>88184248due to gators being natural born apex predators the residents of awat can usually just survive off the land based on instinct alone
>>88184248 (me)Dry season is rough in Loreli. During dry season the fresh water goes so low in the aquifers it's practically sand water. And fresh ripe fruits spoil very quickly. So what Loreli does is ferment the fruit juices from the orchard and keeps them as a fruit wine. Then we mix the fermenting wine with fresh coconut water and seal it with to ferment some more. Then we open up the barrels during dry season and drink as our supply of water until the rains come again.Wet cooking is very limited in dry season. Ironically dry season is the ideal time to produce dried goods like dried fruit, dried meat, and dried nuts. Smoking fish and shellfish is also ideal to do during dry season. A good smoked fish can keep for a few weeks in dry storage. Shellfish not so much. So smoked shellfish is eaten first before smoked fish. Leather making is also ideal during dry season as there is no rain to ruin hides. Wet cooking is done with goat milk at dry season. Though goat cheese and butter is better made in dry season. Also Doobie time!
So how's the strem going for you?

New /awat/ stuff- The railway system in /awat/ is now complete. It is operated by a strange blonde humanoid rat creature and her helpers- Gators are suspicious still considering that the train can operate on multiple terrains even with out a track- at the end of the track in /awat/ leads to a ramp that will launch the train into the air- It is said due to the help of /awat/ engineers the train can operate completely with out a proper track so it can freely go from nation to nation for other passengers to hop on- It seems to be modeled after a typical steam train followed by train cars- There seems to be plans floating around Watson industries with blue prints for what look to be a giant robot with a train themeing. No one knows if its related to the recent development of the new railway system
>>88184248Live stickfish is a popular survival food in Morijigoku! The reason they're live is that dead animals tend to decompose into skeletons very quickly in Moriji, even in the freezing cold, due to the nature of the local microbiomes. So travelers will often pack stickfish, a slender, silvery fish who takes well to hibernating while frozen solid. Keeping it alive allows it to prevent decomposition, but the fact it is frozen solid slows down its metabolism enough that it can hibernate in that state for months without dying, and it convenient to pack.

Good morning. How are projects today?
Looks like another lonely morning.
Now that I think about it there's one preservation method /vnug/ has easy access too. And that's pickling. With enough salt, pickling spices, a vessel, and a lid you can pickle any vegetable, meat, or even eggs.

Who wants to plan trade routes in the continental ravine?
>>88339790where's that on the map
>>88340150It's the body of water on the big continent in the east between /nasfaqg/ on the top and the holo thread nations below it. /vtwbg/ has an island there.Speaking of that /vtwbg/ seems to be north of the equator. So we're more temporate than tropical. Which changes up the crops where we're more Japan than Hawaii. Still perfect for rice.
So I was thinking since the main continent has high cliffs on the ravine I was thinking about having waterfalls or waterways that flow directly into the sea. With steam power these waterways can be uses as a way to get from the ravine into the continent. We just have to design the canals to fill and drain. And of course it'll be done with flat boats me thinks.
>>88340543I hadn't realized vtwbg had a spot on the map, I just assumed it was THE concept of the thread
