The version of the AR Live that they released would have been recorded last fall, when the performers all conspicuously went to Japan (hence why Pomu didn't go; she'd already applied to graduate by then and had thus already been cut from the show). Ergo, the decision to un-cancel it must've been made sometime BEFORE Niji went through the trouble of flying everyone out to record.
