In an ocean of bait, insane rrats and flying shit, what of all things made your drop or give up on a chuuba? Surely lack of streams is the biggest reason right?

Like for me I gave up on Gura long ago because of that, I do watch her every time she streams but I'm not subbed nor do I give her any money anymore and I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one doing this.

Timezones and there just not being enough time in the day to watch it all.

That's not even the biggest reason if you're a NEET. You'd need to antagonize your fanbase for them to cancel you.

Only Antis do this.

I stop watching chuubas when there's too much content too catch up on
we are not the same

You drop chuubas one at a time.
I drop entire corpos at once.
We are not the same.

Timezones are the biggest dealbreaker being from the UK.
2019-2020 were fine as I was at university during covid and could stay up for streams at ungodly hours without any major issues.
After that I was working which made that a lot harder, although I still caught parts of streams as I would stay up late and work remotely.
Now I mostly work in an office so I can't really do that anymore, so I basically only get to watch vods and clips. I'm not interested in many chuubas outside of Hololive either so I'm a bit fucked.
Justice are great for me though, they mostly stream at perfect hours for me and I really enjoy them all. I still love a lot of other holomems though even if I can't watch them live very often

When a vtuber you like even more begins overlapping another vtuber you like watching in the same timeslot. I enjoyed watching Nyan's streams, but when Henya debutted she streamed every single day for 6+ hours at the same time for a month and a half. After that she still streamed 6+ hours a stream six days a week. I really love watching Henya, so it got me completely out of the habit of watching Nyan except for the rare occasions where Henya wasn't streaming and Nyan was.
>>
>>88666542
If I catch them live and noone else I like is streaming, does watching them feel like I'm expending effort rather than enjoying myself? That's usually the point where I drop someone.

When they get flakey (usually paired with bullshit excuses) and start taking long hiatuses. In that case I just find someone else to fill that timeslot.
I need that investment to care about the mundane stories about dishwashers, new recipes etc. So the next time they show up on my feed, I usually unfollow.
Chuubas have issues showing up as a rule, so I drop them pretty often.

vtubers have started to catch onto 3pm EST being the ideal anti-schizo timezone and now it's so crowded...

I've never dropped a chuuba because I came to dislike them, but I have stopped watching many because I have far, far less time than I did a couple of years ago so I have to prioritise. There's been many streams and vods that I've wanted to watch but had to let slip by

Hololive is the Trump of vtubing yes. In a better world of good streamers would be a joke of a company, but the competition is so awful and evil that Hololive is the only real option. No, your indies/third parties are irrelevant sorry.

I dropped filian because I don’t like that she pretends to be a virgin when she’s clearly not. I genuinely wouldn’t care if she just owned up to it but it rubs me the wrong way

Active hostility.

I "gave up" on being attached to chuubas way back during the Coco debacle, its too painful if you treat them as anything more than an entertainer. What followed from Kson over the years made me very glad my STRONG autism prevented me from becoming attached to them across faces.
You change your design (even if not by choice) and I simply cannot continue caring, my autism is my power.

-Lack of streams is a big one for sure (except special cases like miko or haachama's hiatuses), I'm not retarded not gonna waste my time and money on someone who doesn't care to stream, I have better things to do or watch.
-Another is when you get into watching someone but they change their core content. Like if you watch for her singing and then she pivots to reactionslop or whatever.
-Third one is timezones. If someone arbitrarily decides to change their main streams hours, well you better be aware you're losing fans (and that you don't give a shit about them so why would I)

Any mention of politics and I instantly drop a chuuba. If I wanted reality or to fix my community then I wouldn't look to entertainment media.
I come to chuubas for fantasy, or rather for the reality that the internet is a playground for identity that is not to be mistaken for true, complete human interactions. I like the kayfabe and the retrieval of pseudonymity from old online spaces. All content creators are playing a fake persona, whether they like it or not -- vtubers by design admit that and embrace the illusory world of the internet. When you take the identity playspace too seriously and mistake it for real life, you get things like fringe identity politics, cartoonish political figures, and the over extension of faculties concerned with self-examination -- one loses the ability to see past their own image. Like staring into the mirror so long your face starts to warp and look alien.
>>
I only stay interested in a chuuba for like a year or so. I just find newer more interesting ones and move on.

I think the only time I ever actually dropped anyone was in February.

God, fuck that company. I'm still pissed at myself for spending so much time, money, and energy on Elira and Enna. I can't even look at their models or fansrt without being disgusted now

Her termination sucked, then ever since she has gotten into controversy, my feeds were mainly her yabs vs funny content. Her only clipper barely did shit and my algo killed itself

>Ina
I liked her a lot but more of her lewds, she stopped doing memberships stuff for long periods and i got bored

>Fuwamoco
Kind of falling out of love, they are cute and lovable but I don't go out of my way like I used to.

Maybe it's just life or something idk

Lack of streams, yes but also I got fed up with the endless cycle of ghosting, love bombing, merch shilling, ghosting. She stopped the love bombing now though apparently.

>what of all things made your drop or give up on a chuuba?
Nothing.
I haven't given up on any of my streamers.
>Surely lack of streams is the biggest reason right?
Vei was one of my first vtubers, and despite her nearly taking an entire year off and then some more the following year, I still tune in. Not as often as I used to, and I did cancel my sub (to spend it on a different channel I was watching more often), but I'm still watching her.

I follow a shitload of vtubers, so naturally I don't have time for everyone.
There are vtubers who I haven't tuned into in months, some even years. But I'm still keeping up with them and supporting them when and how I can.

It's not hard to just be supportive.
A vtuber would have to do something actually heinous for me to drop them. And thankfully I haven't been that misfortunate.
