2024 has been a good year for hololive, insane amount of successful collabs, their concerts are always sold out in minutes if not seconds, other 3D events get massive views and this year has probably been their best in merch production, international events are insanely popular. the dodgers thing is actually huge since they won the championship. their new EN gens are very popular and prove their concept. Myth has been proven to be not needed for EN's success. their JP side, while not as successful with new gens, established gens get massive popularity even in mainstream media now, but to attribute it to one thing, I would say their collabs have been very successful so far. To be honest, I feel like the success of the OCG is going to push them into that direction. I can really see why they're nervous about investing big money into things not related to streaming, even HoloEarth is supposed to be related somewhat to streaming and concerts, and that's because the primary content for Holo is, lets be real, vtubing and things related to the chuubas. I can see why they'd be nervous about actually producing a costly and good idolmaster-like game because if no one buys then they lose money and yeah they have a lot of fans but in their minds they're not sure if those same fans would actually buy or play the games or if the games can reach past the regular Holo fanbase. Same situation as with the OCG, since the OCG is designed to not just be collectible but real thought was put in to make it an actually fun and competitive TCG, so it's obvious they're also trying to reach the regular TCG audience and not just the Holo fanbase. With the success of things like Holocure (which is an indie project but it's still Hololive) and now the massive success of the OCG they'll probably start to realize that Hololive has extended past the normal Vtuber fanbase and Holofanbase in general. That's just my thoughts on it.

For context I'm in Kyoto almost 3 in the fucking morning btw lmao but like, I can't find any of the Blooming Radiance booster packs or boxes at card shops right now, they're sold out entirely here, and the SorAz starter deck also sells of the shelves relatively quickly though not as much as Blooming Radiance. The OCG was so successful Yagoo had to increase the Q1 earnings estimate by 2 Billion Yen just because the success of the OCG was so unprecedented and people are already crafting decks to play competitively and have been since the OCG officially released. The card quality is nice as fuck as well, they're beautiful and the textures on some of them feel so nice too. The next set, Quintet Spectrum, will 100% sell just as quickly as Blooming Radiance.
