why don't we see new indie vtubers blowing up anymore?
dooby.
>>88855513Because mint doki dooby and soon senzawa exist
>>88855513the Return of the Queenzawawe need her to be dead drunk again
>88856243>88856363>senzawaTwo more weeks, surely
>>88855513Market saturation has practically been achieved.
>>88855952new as in completely new
>>88856824moving the goalposts.
>>88855513Because the market is oversaturated and the leads have been established years agoYou can still achieve massive growth, but it will always be due to being an orbiter of already established creators and leeching their audience, so you'll never be seen as your own thing, just someone that follows others
>>88857066This is why you join small corps like Nexas or Anilive.
>>88857005??? i said "new" in my post. i was just clarifying what i meant
>>88857066but why does that mean new streamers can't establish themselves? wouldn't it have been the same for anyone starting back in 2020-21?
>>88856683holocope
>>88855513Because you are a retarded catalog faggot making retarded threads, you are at fault for that.
>>88857681
>>88857716At least change the file name, dumbass.
>>88857525The audience for vtubers is limited. It's a subgroup of a subgroup of a population. So there's a very good chance at least 2/3rds of all vtuber viewers have been doing it since HoloJP or even pre HoloJP's surge of popularity. The rate at which new fans enter the vtuber community is far slower than before, so most "new fans" to new vtubers are in fact just older fans who watch multiple chuubas. This is what Nijisanji fails to realize and what Hololive exploits so well. Corpos aside, there are already popular indies. They kinda set the scene when it comes to the sizes of their following. It's difficult to make a name for yourself that stands out when there are several names achieving this as we speak. The human brain just doesn't wanna remember too many things, so knowing the biggest and most popular ones is enough most of the time.
>>88857834i see... thank you for helping me understand anon
>>88857834also like... where would you recommend starting as an indie in 2024?
>>88858197Star by commissioning a top Hololive mama.
>>88855513>why don't we see new indie vtubers blowing up anymore? There are now thousands of indie vtubers in the EN market. HoloEN already took over the CGDCT niche so the rest are fighting over the same audience. NijiEN was hit by a huge scandal but even before that they were steadily losing viewers.
The only indie vtuber I really saw "blowing up" was ShylilyEveryone else was some pre-established fleshie who turned vtuberAre there literally any other examples?
Vshojo's orbiters like Arielle and Froggyloch, Vedal and his orbiters, Shondo and her orbiters and Grimmi all seem to do well.
>>88855513Too many of them now, they just need a spotlight. Do tell Mousey & Zen to do a vtuber/streamer of the month program like OTV, just minus the walmart P.Diddy groomer called nmlol.
>>88855513Most indies stream on Twitch, and in order to grow you have to do a significantly better job in a particular niche than the vtubers already occupying the top spots, otherwise people will just watch them instead. Are you more athletic, witty, and content brained than filian? Can you be more funny than Vedal while also building a more impressive AI and network of collab partners? Can you out stream ironmouse, out sing her, while having a worse chronic disease that gains you sympathy? Do you have more impressive 3D than Dooby, Zentreya, Saruei or many others? Can you be goofier than Chibidoki? Can you appeal to normie Twitch fleshstreamer viewers better than Vei? Be better at insane GFE than Shondo? Sexier than Sinder? Cuter and more well liked than Henya? Appeal to people who like muscle women and furries more than Buffpup? Be a better mommy bug woman than Matara? Even if you're better in one area, these people have thousands of viewers, all know each other, have connections to top artists, and have no real reason to pay attention to people much smaller than them. How do you grow to a size where you can work your way into their circles and get people to recognize your prowess in a niche, when you have no mindshare or budget for great models that catch people's eyes? Unless you're doing something totally unique like Vedal was at the time, it's a long and slow grind to the top vs. thousands of competitors.
go take a look in /asp/ and you tell me
>>88859263Neuro.
people say the market saturated but that's not the only issue. The biggest issue is the pendulum swing that Covid caused. Sure for a while while people were cooped up they were into anime and chuubas and youtube and all that other degen shit we've been into our whole lives. But once everyone got their lives back they swung back hard to the other side, now introverts and things like being a vtuber are heavily ostracised by society at large, no large streaming company is going to prop up vtubing ever again.
>>88858319none of them take commissions unfortunately. any other suggestions?
>>88859263Numi, Yuzu, Camila, Shoto, Kenji, Filian, Buffpup, Neuro, Tricky, Chibidoki, HarukaAnd that’s just off the top of my head, with some of these having higher ccv than Shylily
Vedal has an ever expanding harem of 2views turned 3views through his generous raids.
>>88861106A woman could never.
>>88860751literally this. people forget how the pandemic really helped Vtubers as a whole. When you locked indoors with nowhere to go, people were just browsing twitch to watch whoever to pass the time. Those days are long gone now.
>>88857525>new streamers can't establish themselvesThis is just straight up because the ones starting now are only doing it for the money and are low quality e-girls
Because Hololive hires all the good ones before they blow up.
>>88860921having a good looking model is a buff sure but can you keep them there? Are you actually entertaining or just a wet paper bag? So many times I've seen these girls have peak models but theyre so fucking boring
>>88862399my entertainment value is actually the only thing i'm completely confident in, i've been doing this kinda thing since i was in elementary school. finding model artists with open commissions is HARD though
>>88856363>She needs to be killing herself to be goodAnon you are the problem.
>>88856243>>88856363>>88856363>Anons thinking she'd give up that much free money and sponsorships. My god it's a retarded singularity.
>>88855513The Ratio of Vtuber-to-Viewer is becoming smaller, not to say the viewer base isn't growing, but the amount of vtubers is growing way faster comparatively. Companies like hololive are trying to both get a larger slice of the pie, and expand the pie at the same time. We saw an attempt to expand the pie with the whole dodgers collab.
>>88863693The number of viewers is at least plateauing if not decreasing.
>>88863693every viewer will get his own personal 2view one day
>>88860097How the fuck did Zentreya get so big despite literally being text to speech
>>88864128Have you seen how big and animated those tits are?
>>88855513people only care about dunking on corpos by watching ex-corpo chuubas, that's why there's a bunch of indies entering a small corpo and then graduating a few months later and re-debuting
>>88856243>>88856363Imagine actually believing she'll stream regularly again if she graduates She's never streaming regularly again unless she somehow runs out of money
>>88863963why don't people like vtubers anymore T_T
>>88864759The novelty fell off.November we'll see a spike in viewers because it's getting colder and people are staying home more. December people are going on vacations or visiting family so it will go down, and it will go back up January and February. It's like anything else man.
>>88855513Because their fans are normal and don't post on 4chan.
>>88864759Why would they stick around?
>>88855513>why don't we see new indie vtubers blowing up anymore?- Grimmi- YUY_IX- DemeYou literally don't know any indies if you think there aren't new ones getting popular every year.
OH BOY IT'S JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENED TO "INDIE ROCK" IN THE LATE 2000S WHEN LITERAL TRUST FUND FAGGOTS USED FUNNY MONEY TO TURN A GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT INTO A FASHION STATEMENTI FUCKING LOVE CAPITALISM BEING THE ENDGAME FOR EVERY SINGLE SUBCULTURE IN EXISTENCE. I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY ENJOY WORDS HAVING ZERO MEANING ANYMORE.HEY I HAVE A PERFECT IDEA... EVERYONE IN HOLOLIVE GRADUATES AND GOES INDIE!!! YEAH, STICK IT TO THE MAN, EPIC BROFIST!!!
>>88855952>>88856243There needs to be a defined "excorpo" category at this point. It's not really the same thing anymore.
>>88855513Because anytime a non-Dorito streamer is talked about the chimps shriek about buying ads
>>88864930Grimmi isn't indie. She's a part of Spirit House, which is a collective.Yuy_ix has a business email and shills Gamer Supplements. Not indie.Deme is literally a part of GG Talent Group which includes LaynaLazar. Nothing about her is indie.Stop misusing language already and learn what an independent streamer is.
>>88864829December is also when vtubers start taking vacations or getting very sick.
>>88865355>getting very sickWho buys that shit? And why can't they just say "im going to be spending charismas with my loved ones, peace"
>>88865273Define indie then
>>88865557>Not a part of a nepotistic clique>Not a shameless product shill>Not attached to a brand managerIt's really that simple.
>>88864128>started streaming before everyone else>coomerbait model and good physical comedy skills>networked with all the right people>kept up a consistent streaming schedule and played buff games when most others grew lazyIf Zen had to start over today she would probably have a hard time reaching her current size.
>>88865662So there are no indie vtubers
>>88866396You can be in a small group helping signal boost your other vtuber friends, just don't do it only for clout. It's okay to have sponsored segments, get that bag, but a dedicated affiliate link in your bio is a massive red flag.Being part of a talent agency means you're compromised as a vtuber and it's why everyone in, say, Mythic is no longer able to call themselves indie.
>>88855513Vtubing itself has not been a thing for more than a decade at this point anon. Your sense of normal is conditioned on what the initial explosions looked like, of everyone learning about vtubers, and everyone who was interested in being a vtuber becoming a vtuber.>>88857525meaning, it is not so much that 'new streamers can't establish themselves', but that everyone who can establish themselves has largely already done so. The same is largely true for people interested in vtubing as fans as well. The rate at which new players enter the game is at intergenerational rates now, not at sea-change rates like when the market was new.
>>88855513Don't worry anon your oshi can still make it (mine too, I believe in her)ChaCha blew up just the other day.
>>88864128by grinding for it
>>88867244Like another anon in this thread said. You need to orbit filian, VShojo, or Vedal to grow as an indie now.
>>88865121You're not wrong. And then if you actually do buy an ad they cry about that too lol.
>>88864882why would they not?
>>88855513Because the infidels have defeated. Insha'Allah.
>>88861035Is it weird to think they're apples that all dropped off the same tree?
>>88855513they are very busy right now in the middle east, can't focus their energy on VTubers
>>88869841People like Vei predate holoEN and most of the 4view crowd historically catered to the twitch meta before. There's the a younger mostly 3view indie camp that's more visibly influenced by holoEN though
>>88855513wdym it happens all the time to any small indie that gets blessed by a vedal or filian raid
>>88855513Indie is pretty much dead at this point. Mint, Doki, and Dooby have sniped the majority all the "I'm too good for corpo," normies. People who can't recognize that the only reason these girls are as big as they have is because of corpo branding. Doesn't help the Twitch is going down the shitter, and YT is still ass for discovery.
>>88864759it's gone on long enough that only the most hardcore delusional people still believe they have a chance to woo and marry the vtuber. it's not that people dislike the vtubers. but why suffer endlessly in unrequited love when it's much more menhealthy to just click off the video and do something else with your life?
>>88855513you'd have to watch them first
>>88855513wait 5 more years and you will see gen alpha vtubers.
>>88870736Actual normies don't know who any of these are, even DokiCorpo fans are otakus and the opposite of normal people
>>88855513Because other big indies are pulling the ladder up. You don't see them collab with small indies anymore to prop them up. They just hang out with other big indies. The early bird gets the reward
>>88870736The only indies normies know about are Fillian and Shoto purely because of their proximity to the normie sphere of streamers.
>>88855513Because most Indies are fucking garbage and not many people are willing to swim through trash to find that one diamond in the rough
who do I orbit as a black vtuber then
>>88855513Because we don't get new indie "vtubers" anymore. Pretty much every indie since 2022 is just your garden variety twitch thot larping as an anime png
>>88855513I consider this blowing up imho
>>88872631and the monthly gained views and subs on youtube
>>88855513they fixed the gas leak
>>88864128vtuber forsen
>>88870973go back
>>88855513The vtubers bubble burst like two years ago
>>88872186Try Chacha. She's relatively newly blew up, she's Latina, might mom you.
>>88855513Wdym? Look at this guy who discovered all these new indies to watch.
>>88867110>anyome who can establish themselves has already done sowhat do you mean? shouldn't there always be new people filtering into it?
