While people are on the topic of success etc, I think the talents (male talents especially) should consider changing their approach. Instead of just streaming random stuff and hoping people show up, it's better to make youtube videos that target some demographic and bringing in an audience that way. This audience will then show up for streams later. Just for example I saw some of them were building model kits. That stuff is cool and does have some audience, but you're relying on that audience to be browsing through twitch looking for that content on that day. These people will never find your vod if they missed the stream. If someone made youtube videos building model kits, they will actually be able to get some viewers showing up to streams that discovered them through such videos. Most successful indies become successful by bringing in an audience from a bunch of viral videos of some sort. Another example is female vtubers bring in an audience by doing asmr videos and then that audience shows up to the streams later. Or they can throw themselves at a wall like Filian to make kids laugh and get popular that way. Anyway the point is that the youtube content creator to streamer pipeline is real and is how most successful streamers got their audience. Even streamers who don't make youtube content become popular because some moment from their stream is clipped and turned into a viral video. Videos lead to success. Mindlessly streaming waiting for success to come to you will get you nowhere. Unless your streams are so funny that some random viewer decides to make a clip of some funny moment that gains traction, but good luck waiting for that to ever happen.
