I never tried getting more images that wayI started doing not for just having more images, but for having extra data for sections that weren't represented very well in the dataset (especially the lower body), while also mitigating the possibility of position overfit (though that seems to be less of a thing with SDXL models in general, I started doing this during the brief fluffyrock era). I got good results on the first lora I tried it for, so I kept doing it.As it stands, it still makes sense to me to increase the amount of images that has a certain aspect of the character—let's say in this example, rara's legwarmers—from 20% of the dataset to 30%, without literally duplicating a few images and especially those which have the entire body facing forward in a static position. Whether or not it captures details it otherwise would not; like if the trainer is viewing everything in a, say 832x1216 window, so cropped images allow for more detail seen; I haven't done the research to say either way.
