Safari Pedal's Camel Strip. $4When working with music, I like to use the EQ1A option (based on a Pulteq EQ) to carve out about 2db on the mids, immediately opens the audio up, but YMMV depending on the kind of audio you're working with. For vocals, the FAIR option (based on a Fairchild compressor) dialed in at about 20-30% seems to be the sweet spot. The gate option acts as a noise gate, which is a glorified compression technique that can help cut out room acoustics, fan noise, etc. Soft/hard knee options are useful, dial it in for taste. I always like to throw a little saturation on my voice to beef it up a little, that's where the input drive knob comes in, and of course you have a one-knob reverb so dialing in settings for your karaokes will always be easy.
