My guess is that they're changing the way they pay talent to appease shareholders. It has always been 30/35/35 to google/cover/talent for channel revenue and 50/50 to cover/talent for talent-involved merch.
Shareholders hate this and have repeatedly asked Yagoo to shift it in favor of the company so that they can make more revenue so that their stock prices can go up.

Recently, Cover has been cutting costs because there was no event like Bloom/Blue Journey and no collab like Deco*27/honeyworks this year. There was no holosummer either. Also, talents are supposed to get one new outfit every year, but hardly any of them got new ones this year. And they reduced 3D lives to one per person per year.
This cost cutting must not be enough for the investors, so they're probably reducing the cut that talent get for their work and many talent are leaving because of it.
All of the recently graduating talents have cited a "change in direction" on Cover's part, but I can't think of much else it could be other than paying talent, because there hasn't been any major changes on the surface as far as fans can see other than the cost cutting I mentioned.

I'm playing more Rimworld, sadly "the machine gun defense (continued)" mod seems to be bugged, whenever I want a pawn to man the machine gun it says "cant find any reserved shells nearby" even if I place the right shells nearby or on a shelf. other than that I just had a "clogged pain" event from a mod that adds more anomaly threats, it turned my walls spiky, pain inducing, and purple.
having them nearby makes my pawns experience mind shattering incapacitating pain, so I demolished them.
