Is the business risks portion with "Reputation Risks" section new? I don't like their policy for addressing it. It shows they practically have learned nothing from the whole Selen fiasco and their solution is to repress it more with more draconian measures.
>>
>>91319651
Looks like JP is doing fine, no surprise there.
EN is up a tiny bit from the previous quarter. Less than 100, but up nonetheless (still down YoY though). Livestreaming is down & event is back to 0, with most of the increase being in commerce (merch), which makes sense since they've been doing a bunch of merch reruns recently.

NijiEN is unironically healing, whether you like it or not.
Both aster and twisty termination will have negligible effect to NijiEN numbers (both of them below a finana in CCV)
Krisis is carrying the golden 20, with both Yu Q. Wilson & Vanta Crow hitting near 4k CCV. I expect Q3 will also be an increase.
The main reason why they kept declining was the golden 20 (and mainly Vox) declining in popularity. Now that the golden 20 have settled their numbers in Q1 2025, and with the new blood carrying the company. It's only going up from here.

Fiscal year 2025 = May 2024->April 2025.
Each company choose different fiscal year. Japanese businesses tend to choose April~May. Maybe because they pay yearly tax on May~June, idk.
>why fiscal year not the same as calendar year:
schools might choose to have a fiscal year run from September to August because it lines up with the school year. Tourist business might want to start the fiscal year at the start of the tourist season and end during the off season.

Oh boy. The streaming revenue being lower than the previous quarter, despite the growth in merchandise revenue, meaning that they are still losing fans. The company is only managing to balance things out by pushing the remaining whales to their limits

Yes, in the short term, a "bigger number" looks good, but as always, you have to consider the broader context. Even if merchandise is the primary source of income, that revenue only grows in proportion to your actual audience, which is directly tied to streaming revenue. So far, Nijisanji has been completely unable to stop the decline in viewership, and they’ve reverted to numbers from three years ago, which is incredibly bad

If they’re lucky, the drop will end soon, and numbers will start plateauing from here. That doesn’t necessarily mean things will get better, but at least they won’t necessarily get worse. The problem is that the community and market still need to react to the Aster yab, so... we’ll have to wait and see what happens with that
>>
>>91319651
Overall it’s the usual. JP is growing at a surprising pace, and yet they miss their targets again although this time isn’t a wide miss so their excuses may actually work.
What we are here for, NijiEN, is showing a decline in anything but merchandise, which has grown quite significantly but this is on par with quarter growth trough the year…which is still good for them, re-entering into some form of normalcy.
Anons however should note the vast majority, if not complete promotion and marketing boost for EN have been concentrated in the SEA/China area, which has proven effective so will likely continue, and no event/promotion/boost seems in any capacity program in the EN area they are suppose to cover.
TLDR on EN: they turned them into NijiSEA and now they work.

Anycolor has to show EN separately to give lip service to the notion they're "expanding globally" to investors.
Cover otoh has amply shown their success in global expansion. In fact, probably the only corpo that is highly successful in 3 languages.
But holostars are underperforming, to put it lightly, for the amount of investment poured into them and Cover would rather not make that public.
Maybe holo ID too in general given the lack of a new gen in 2.5 years, but they got Kobo and supposedly ID is low maintenance.
>>
>>91328379
>Maybe holo ID too in general given the lack of a new gen in 2.5 years, but they got Kobo and supposedly ID is low maintenance.
I wouldn't be surprised if the boys are both cheaper to maintain and actually perform better than ID in terms of revenue.
On the starsEN side at least. They don't really seem to support them all that much these days.

AnyColor's livestream revenue being stagnant can't really be explained by some of its members streaming on Twitch, right?
Why mention livestream revenue? Because unlike merch where vtuber cuts are dependent on the type of merch, livestream/content cuts are hard stuck between 27.5% and 35% (after platform fees and company cut).
I know some of NijiJP members choose not to generate revenue via ads, memberships, and SCs, but that was more in the past and things have been changing. Rip Toya/Mito.
Maybe it's silly to do, but I wonder whether an estimate for vtuber remuneration can be done using Cover's numbers. Might do this during lunch, but it'll be something like:
1) Determine vtuber cut of livestream revenue: Livestream Rev * 35% = Vtuber cut of livestream rev
2) Determine non-livestream revenue for Cover Corp vtubers:
Performer remuneration per Cover Corp - Vtuber cut of livestream rev = non-livestream revenue vtubter cut
3) Determine % of remuneration is from non-livestream sources:
Non-livestream revenue vtubter cut/Performer remuneration = % of remuneration is from non-livestream sources
4) Estimate AnyColor vtuber remuneration:
Vtuber cut of livestream rev/(1-% of remuneration is from non-livestream sources) = Estimated vtuber remuneration.
Since the company have different revenue/cost of sales amounts, it might be a good idea to then divide remuneration (reported and estimated) by reported revenue/CoS/DVC just to get an idea of how costly the vtubers are.
Also, for step 4, it might be interesting to use the best rate and worst rate from Cover Corp just to get a "range" for AnyColor. Again might do this during lunch in 2hours.

This is true. They're more steady purchasers too. You can easily compare it to the idol industry. Successful male idols with female fanbases are much more financially stable than equally successful female idols with male fanbases. Males groups also tend to have much longer staying power while female groups tend to have shorter runs or like AKB/Morning Musume, have a constantly rotating lineup as older members graduate and move on.
>>
>>91319935
Women and blacks are very loose with their money and will even get themselves into massive debt via credit cards just to buy merch. It’s why those two are very very lucrative and sought after in the US.

>>
>>91337545
>Why mention livestream revenue?
Because they're a publicly traded company, and their products and services include livestreaming. Legally, they cannot not mention livestreaming revenue.
This is also why they've always mentioned EN's events revenue and the merged branches' promotion revenue in their reports, despite almost always being zeros.

It more or less confirms that the vtubers themselves together costs AnyColor less than Cover Corp. The graphs also "estimates" talent remuneration. Overall, AnyColor just pays out less in terms of total numbers and percentages if the estimates are close to being correct.
The 28.31% graph assumes that AnyColor pays out on average at the lowest rate Cover does for non-livestreaming revenue. The 50.73% assumes that AnyColor pays out on average at the best rate.
Either way the interesting numbers are the final four columns. One compares vtuber remuneration reported by Cover Corp and the other estimates it for AC. Next, column shows total revenue to "ground the numbers". % of Revenue shows how much vtuber cut takes away from each company's revenue. Finally, the last line shows how much vtuber cuts make up Cost of Sales/Direct Variable Costs. Other costs there would include platform fees (YT/Twitch cuts), merch costs, and other direct costs of sales.
