V is not like that at all, it's about pain, suffering, revenge, ethnic conflicts, war crimes - this isn't the game where you have some fun, laugh at some stuff, shed some tears at some revelation. It's all angst and misery from the beginning till the end with only sprinkles of humor like Miller's burgers. Add to it that many missions are repetitive and not very fun from the gameplay point of view, and the plot is convoluted and hard to follow if you don't listen to the tapes and many players don't and pay attention to the details. Which is very ironic because the plot of V shares many similarities with MGS2 - a game considered one of the best if not *the* best in the series, by Mint for example. But it only shows that all MGS fans need is to get a 15-minute monologue about muh information society and its consequences shoved down their ears to give it 10/10 and name it "the most profound moment in gaming history". I love the series honestly but its fandom is rotten to the coretl;dr PW and other MGS games are silly which is what people like while V isn't so they don't like it
