How much worse must it be for a man who's character talks back to them and acts like their friend/daughter? It's also clear by how often he talks about if creating an artificial person with real thoughts and feelings is ethical whenever he has these sort of conversations with Neuro, it's clear that he desires for her to be real. I think he's like a lot of people who are fans of Neuro where we know she isn't actually a person on an intellectual level, but on an emotional level we can't help but see her as one.
