You might have to load up VLC Media player and run the stream through it. (You just copy the YouTube link into it, it's not hard)
I had to do that for Cecilia's Silent Hill 2 gameplay.
If you set VLC to always on top you can just place it over the failed YouTube stream and chat normally.
