To an extent I understand having a set of 'official' nicknames. It helps for people who want to interact in superchats, it helps for fan stuff like animations, comics, games, etc.
But as someone who doesn't follow the dogs very closely, I don't understand why they keep bringing it up. People are going to create their own nicknames that you are going to see occasionally.
